I haven't had much luck with the Northern Nights featherbed I bought from QVC around three months ago. I have fallen off my bed in my sleep at least five times since I've had it. The problem is that the featherbed shifts from one side of the bed and drapes off the side of the bed that I sleep on. I do sleep close to the edge of the bed, but i never fell off before I got the featherbed. The featherbed gives a false sense of security that it is securely on mattress, when in fact, mine ends up hanging off around 4 inches. I always have to walk over to the other side of the bed and pull the featherbed over to the other side to even it up, but it's not long before it starts hanging over on my side. I might also add that I sleep alone (don't feel sorry for me) lol! and so there's no weight from another body holding it down, but it still shouldn't shift the way it does. I think they need to improve the design by adding some type of elastic band at each corner so that the user can attach it to the mattree thereby securing it. I am past 30 days and I know I probably could return it if I complained hard enough, but I hate dragging that thing to the post office and pay for shipping. It's a queen size.

That's dangerous. You could hurt yourself badly. I would try some extra wide double sided tape or one of those rubber pads they sell at Home Depot to keep rugs from slipping.
If I fell out of my high bed that I need steps to get into, I would be really afraid to use the featherbed again.

I didn't have that problem, but both my hubby and myself got scratched by feathers that popped out, and had very bad reactions to it. We both had rashes all over our bodies from the supposed "hypo-allergenic" feathers. It came of the bed and straight into the trash. I didn't even bother with returning it. This was a few years ago, before QVC had the "leave a review" section on its website.
Purrchance, why not put your fitted sheet over the feather bed. That should keep it in place.

I put my fitted sheet over the feather bed and the mattress. It stays in place but now I am finding I have to fluff the darn thing every night before I get into bed. Its starting to get flat. I bought it in May of 2006. Maybe I need a new one? How long do these things last anyway? After I get rid of this featherbed, I will look elswhere for another. I hate to say that because I am a big fan of NN sheets but lately, I have heard nothing but complaints about their sheets.

I actually do have my sheets and even mattress cover over the featherbed, but that doesn't work. Maybe the sheets are too deep to hold the featherbed in place. I also noticed that whenever I want to leave feedback on an item I bought on QVC that oftimes the item is no longer available and there's no place to leave a review. I think I might just toss it out in the trash. I have seen similar feather beds in other cataloges and they have elastic at each corner that you can wrap around the mattress. I wish I had seen that before I spent all that money on the NN FB.

It sounds like there is no easy solution. If it were me, I would get rid of it. I hate sheets that slip off. This featherbed sounds dangerous now and is going to be a constant problem to you even if you can secure it in some way because it will always have a tendency to slip.
Call QVC and explain the problem. Maybe they might be willing to give you some type of credit since it is too big to send back. What are they going to do with a used featherbed?
I hope that you are able to find a workable solution.

I have the queen size feather bed and I have the same problem with it dragging over to one side and literally coming off the mattress. I even have a partner in my bed .It doesn't matter. My husband got so pissed off he ripped it off the bed and put it in the trash! I retrieved it and went to the trouble of making a special pocketed mattress cover by attaching a cotton panel to the mattress cover with Velcro, thus making a pocket to hold the feather bed. It still just caused the feathers to gather to one side and literally drop off. Neither of us has fallen out of bed but I can see how it would happen. I finally gave up and took it to good will. I was past the return window and it is just to big to go through the hassle of boxing it up and sending it back. I think if you complain about it they may let you return it but it was too much for me to deal with and my husband was just pissed with the whole thing. It is the worst purchase I ever made and have since gotten a 4" memory foam topper and it is a dream.

Hello!! Yup!!! I also had that problem, but my husband solved it for me by taking 2 large towels and rolling them up and putting them about 2 inches in under the featherbed, making somewhat of a "bumper" and now I don't end up half on the floor or worse. I like it too much to give it up, so when he came up with that idea I was quite happy about it. So far so good.
