View Full Version : Hardest QVC Shows to Sit Through

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the board as far as posting, but I've been reading for it several months. I love the posts and decided it was time for me to take part. I've been watching QVC for a few years now, mainly as background noise when nothing else is on. Naturally, I've picked up on quite a bit. I thought I'd start by asking what shows you can barely stand to watch or have to switch channels when you see.
For me:
Dell Computers
Kirks Folly
Porcelain Stoneware
There are a few shows I watch only because they're like highway accidents--you don't want to look but you do anyway:
Quacker Factory
Susan Graver Style
I'm sure you've touched on this topic in the past, but I thought I'd post it anyway. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks.

I can't tolerate the jewelry shows, only because I am not a big fan of jewelry at all.
The others I can't sit through are the NASCAR shows, the Hummell figurines and the electronics shows.

Where to begin?:
That guy who plays the guitar
Hummel
NASCAR
Any music album show
Sports memorabilia
Tools
Electronics
Underwear
Candles
And that's just for starters.

Isn't he on HSN? I forget his name. QVC has the piano playing brothers, I think.

Royal Palace Rugs
Valerie Parr Hill (Her sickening sweet persona gets old). Besides, how many candles and wreaths does one need?
Nutrisystem
Suzie Orman and Tony Robbins (I think they both have good ideas but could they come up with some new ones? Most of us will agree that Tony Robbins makes our skin crawl).
Electronics
Collectibles
During Christmas - 'put it together in a minute' tree
Susan Graver
Cottage Farms
And please no more DELL. I have suffered enough.

Anything involving food hosted by David Venable. His facial expressions creep me out.
Quacker Factory. who buys that stuff?

I agree with many, but no one mentioned Kathy Van Zeeland.
I think her bags are hideous.
Loving, however, Dooney and Bourke.

I also forgot, an hour of Bose would send me straight to nappy-time.

Any show hosted by Patti Reilly - I don't find the woman cute, adorable, charming - I think she is manic, rude, and shrill. I don't care how much weight she loses - she still has a big mouth
And now with the 25th of every month having all day Christmas shows! The hype drives me crazy.
Plus the electronics, Susan Graver, scrapbooking, Valerie Parr Hill (I imagine she is really a bitch - no one is truly that nice - all the time), Kathy Van Zeeland - her purses are the worst

When I attempted to make a list, I suddenly realized that there are more shows that I avoid than there are shows that I enjoy watching.
I would have to say that the Breezies presentations always make me change the channel immediately. Their stuff is overpriced for what you are getting and when I tried both the briefs and bras I ended up throwing them out. I'll stick to the Vanity Fair brand that I can find at any good Department store.
I think that the only things I am interested in on QVC anymore are some of the housewares shows. I purchase their stuff only if I find that I can save some money, including the shipping and handling, or if they have something that is not readily available elsewhere.

Agreed, it is easier to post which shows I like rather than dislike.
So, anything featuring gold jewelry (no silver) or gems.
I don't like any of the lines like Barbara Bixby, RLM, Judith Ripka. Just the old fashioned yellow gold and gems.
I also enjoy beauty programs featuring treatment products as opposed to make-up.

As I said just before on another post, I can't watch anymore. QVC is so boring. They havn't changed in years. Nothing new or exciting. Wake up!!! Shame on you QVC for letting the programing get so bad

I agree with everyone's posts on this topic! And I want to add QUILTING shows to the list. I can't watch 60 minutes of meaningless babble about their mass-produced quilts. I don't care if they are vintage-inspired; I would assume most, if not all, of them are mass-produced and devoid of any charm.
Yes, yes, yes...the Bose shows are unbearable. If I have to see that candle-snuffing demo one more time where they aim to show how powerful Bose is, I am gonna lose it.
Susan Graver needs to stop spinning and dancing and twirling around every time she's on the air. Grabbing onto your pant legs and swishing the fabric around doesn't make me want to buy anything. And how can every fabric she sells be the softest/most luxurious/best ever?

LOL Jules I was going to say the same thing...I can't remember the last time I sat thru and entire hour of anything on QVC, even if I happen to like whatever they happen to be selling that hour...then usually its the host, the vendors or the callers that drive me away...ugh....

I can't stand any of the electronics, cooking, Susan Graver, Citiknits, or garden shows. Although I still say Phillip from Cottage Farms is a hottie. ;)

Great chatty topic here-
When I saw the post title I immediately thought of Breezies. How boring and over and over and over and over and over...... can one be?
I agree about the Bose. I understand people do say they are great but they are always the same price no matter where/when (on QVC, not on QVC etc) so I dont see what the big deal is.
This morning that guy I can't think of his name was doing a jewelry show which had to be one of the worst I have ever seen. He was going on about the calla lilly pendant which was actually attractive, but going on about the calla lilly being so important because of its wonderful fragrance etc. Like he forgot that this one was of gold and would not have ANY fragrance.

I cannot stand the Kaufmann's from Chesapeake Seafood. They constantly false advertise their items----never got nearly the amount of crab as they advertise in their crabcakes or that lobster bisque.
Can't stand the Kansas City steak shows. Do you notice that they cover their steaks with cooking oil so that the meat always looks juicy???? Those steaks are not nearly as juicy as they contend, only all wet and sparkly from cooking oil.
Patti Reilly drives me crazy. No way do you lose that much weight as fast as she did by sensible eating. That girl has had lipo in a big way. And, would someone tell both her and Lisa to stop with the fake tans !!!! They're looking like baked pumpkins, as they are way too orange and fake.
I don't mind some of the jewelry shows and I usually watch fashion days. But enough with the Dell laptops in all the colors.
The Breezies woman and her daughters drive me crazy. I don't mind Carole Hochmann, Stan Herman, Chloe.

OMG she was SO awful this morning. On Fashion Forum she must have had ten or so items, and she swished and swirled her way through each presentation. She just LOVES to get on camera with the models. Even at the very end of the show when they were backing off the host and the models, Susan stood up there checking herself out in the camera, smiling and swishing. She is insufferable.
I also can't bear Jill Bauer. Her incessant yelling makes my ears bleed. Plus, she's gotten so frumpy. She's always wearing those "mother-of-the-bride" style suits, but today she is wearing something more stylish and STILL looks old for her age. She needs to lift her "girls" up, and change her hairstyle or something. JMO.
As for shows, Dell computers, Bose, For Race Fans, Quaker Factory, Nutrisystem, most everything, really. The only stuff I watch is BE, beauty shows, Jewelry, and fashion, and even that depends on who is hosting.
BTW-Hi everyone. I don't get here too often because I had a bad experience with QVC customer service and stopped shopping with them, but I still watch and lurk here from time to time.

What could possibly be worse than watching Dr. Taub, that snake oil salesman? He looks like he's got one foot in the grave and he's selling ridiculously expensive vitamins. No one needs all of those vitamins. The body will just excrete them ... except for the ones that are toxic if you take too many of them.
One look at Dr. T's mug and I am either falling asleep or hitting the channel change button.

YES!!!!! Kirk's Folly !!! I saw some early this morning. I didn't think that was still offered. The vendor rep they had on was not the original lady and they had the British host who kind of stumbles for what to say.... NOT a good pairing in my opinion. But I have always said that when I first saw a Kirks Folly presentation I honestly thought it was a spoof on SNL!!!!

The only show I Can sit through is Marie Osmond and her Doll's. She is sooo Funny. Never know what she'l say.
But I don't watch qvc, Other than what i mentioned above. Any show on qvc would make me go to sleep or change the channel. Or any retail network for that matter. But Mary Beth Rowe is my favorite Host. Don't like Dan.

From what I have read here most people don't agree with me, but I think there are way too many beauty/skin care shows. I turn them off immediately. Not sure of the spelling, but Dr. Dinese really drives me crazy. Don't care how good she looks for her age and all of her degrees. She is creepy.

This is HSN, but the worst show to me on any shopping channel is Dr. Rey, the touchy feely guru of shapewear! For the ick and creepy factor, he can't be beat.
