Purchased the cushion cut that was on last weekend at a special DMQ weekend price. Not as dark a stone as it appeared on the website. It's nice but I don't think I'd recommend it. Anyone else have an opinion?

Those brown diamonds used to be considered industrial grade diamonds and no one wanted them. Then they came up with a smart advertising campaign and named them "chocolate" diamonds. The same with black diamonds. If you want sparkle, you won't find it in these diamonds.
Something similar happened with pearls. In Japan they would sell misshapen pearls by the bucket for a couple of bucks. Then they came up with the idea of calling them "baroque" pearls. Very clever.

I saw that. If you had read the reviews, 3DogMommy, they almost all stated that the stone was much lighter in person and didn't look like a true chocolate diamond.

You're completely correct....I should have read the reviews. I usually do but must have gotten caught up in the moment.
