I caught part of her show with Rick this afternoon and thought some of her jewelry was rather nice, but I didn't buy anything. What really struck me about her was how old she sounds these days. She can have all the nips and tucks she wants and she can plaster her face with make-up, but her voice is sounding more and more like the way Katherine Hepburn did in ON GOLDEN POND. Or was she drunk?

Sad.

I watch almost every jewelry show she does and she didn't sound any different to me.

I did think it was hilarious when starting the Sunday show, in the beginning when they do a quick preview, they had her microphone off and when they finally put it on she threw a (fake) hissy fit, yelling "if that happens again I'm off to Home Shopping!" Rick laughed but looked shocked too ...

Maybe she was doing a parody of Bill O'Reilly. He actually had a fit when his mike and the teleprompter weren't working.

I didn't think she sounded drunk at all. Same as always....I like her shows with Rick, I think they work well together.
Hope I'm as feisty as she is, when I'm 75!

I think Joan is as sharp as she ever was, but I did notice her voice seemed rather raspy - I just put it down to a summer cold.

Rick is always at his best when he's with people he likes. He's very good with Joan but excellent ith Kathy Levine. If he and Kathy were paired in a daytime talk show, they'd give Regis and Kelly a run for their money. Put Rick with someone like Phillip ("Let me flex my muscles for ya") Watson and the combination can be lethal.

I love watching Joan on QVC. She makes some of the most entertaining programming they offer, and I LOVE when she swears or crosses the line with some vulgar comment about her breasts being in her shoes. It is great to watch the host's reaction, and I can only imagine the people upstairs sweating bullets. HA HA.

Rick works very well with her. He just plays along with her swearing and vulgarity. What's great about Joan is that she doesn't take herself seriously. She comes across as sincere about her jewelry and the quality, but she laughs at herself at the same time. I really like her. I honestly laughed out loud several times when I watched her the other day.

Joan will be on this weekend starting with Friday's TSV. Mid day on Friday, she is going to be doing a show with Kathy Levine. LaVintage and Joan's pieces.

I can't wait ... should be a hoot!!!

Ditto! I'm set to tape the shows. Can't wait, also.

I love her outrageousness...she just says what she thinks, period.

I wish Kathy Levine would come back to the Q. I really liked watching her as she was very entertaining and pretty much said it like it was.

Thanks for the heads up BK! I will be working but will make sure I set the VCR (um, yep - still haven't learned how to record on the DVD player ugh). Can't wait to watch Fri night while I'm lounging with a bevvy!

I'm watching Joan with Jill now. She sounds nasal. Maybe she's getting a cold.

Joan works so well with all the hosts. I like her as a vendor. I have only bought 1 piece of her jewelry, but I think it's pretty. She clearly knows her stuff and I like it that she loves it so much. It really shows.
She and Jill worked well together.

I agree with you Susu ... Joan's passion for her jewelry is very apparent.

I think Joan was sick this visit ... many times when they would be doing a laser shot of an item and the host would be giving item numbers (etc) you'd hear Joan blowing her nose ... lol ... kinda funny, kinda gross ... but no worse IMO than Kenneth Jay Lane hacking up a lung like he normally does.
