Yes, she went into rehab for addiction to painkillers...I thought she was OK...
I just hope she can walk off the stage...she's a mess.
Holy shit, she was wasted, totaled, stoned...Yikes!

Are you kidding? wow. I didn't watch...just listened she sounded fine...I will have to watch on dvr...I do recall Teresa Heinz Kerry being out of it, waaaaay out of it, so they do send them up there stoned.... I will be interested to see.
I don't think I've seen a more uncomfortable audience...
If she becomes First Lady, she's going to have to clean up...

I see the looney lefties have infiltrated and disrespected McCain during his speech. He handled it nicely.

Just a pop by ...wanted to tell my Rep. friends I am loving John and I didn't want or expect to, lots of class..
sorry I can't feel the same way about Cindy, but I sure never got the feeling she was stoned or on anything??? I think she was way too scripted and probably nervous. I am sure if she was still on Rx drugs it would have been all over the media by now.
I am sure she is beyond exhausted but I still don't care for her

Ok...I'm watching it on youtube...easier than ffw my dvr...she did ok with the family introductions...but seemed extremely nervous...a terrible speaker..imo...
she said on GMA this morning that she was nervous...I think the nerves, the eye makeup...kind of messy hair, and the strange speech delivery (sort of bobble head thing goin on up down left right)all go together to look funny.
I don't think she is drunk, but maybe some anxiety meds.
decent speech...bad delivery.

Cindy did look a little like a boozed up crypt keeper......
I do think it was her nerves though. I think she took something or drank something to get through her speech. Not everyone can do that. Not everyone is Sarah Palin!!!!!
I liked her more tonight than at other times. She is a good woman with a kind heart. And she adores John McCain from what I can tell.
I couldn't do what she did tonight. And I am sure I would have to drop a few margaritas, just to stand up when I was introduced.
I might even have had to smoke a joint or two, lol. Can ya hear my speech after THAT??
"Ahhhhh, yeah.......... Okay..........ummmmm..........man, it's like 90 in here.......... so yeah...ahhh, anyway.........did ya ever notice those monstrous ears that Obama's got??? I think they're like.....ummm........some kinda satellite dishes that get messages from space???........DUDE, they can't be real!!!! NO WAY!!!......I swear I saw 'em move the other day to get a better signal..........."

LOL...I have to say I wouln't have been able to do it either.......I used to speak at Dental Hygiene seminars (30 min presentations) ... for maybe about 50 to 100 people max..I would get up in front of nightclubs full of people and compete in dance contests.....no problem, so when one of my friends asked me to do a reading at her wedding, I said, "sure, I'd love to do it!"....then when I found out she was having over 300 people I started to get panicky...just the thought of it made me ill. It was a reaction I never had previously to public speaking.
I had to tell her that I was backing out on her...she was great about it, but she was probably wondering how I could speak in front of people several times a year and not read a few paragraphs of scripture for her.
I remember the feeling of just thinking about having to get up there in a quiet church all those people eyes on me... and I bet Cindy had to take a chill pill to get up there and talk to the nation.

I willl have to put myself through watching her speak again, I may need a nerve pill lol I really didn't notice anything that made me think she was under the influence of anything.

I can't public speak either. I use to sing years ago with different bands and play keyboard. I could do that in front of thousands and never was nervous, but to speak? Nope, can't do it.
I admire anyone who can though.

You should see what they do in grade school these days.. horrifying, lol.....they have them up there as early as Kindergarten and first grade presenting reports with posters and all sorts of things. Getting them conditioned young seems to work down the road. Last year I was amazed that Jake was not a bit nervous about getting up in front of a class of 22 kids and doing a power point presentation. Considering it was long and there were so many parts to it, with music and handouts, I expected him to dread it....not the case.
...for Memorial Day they had a tribute to veterans in the auditorium...military and vet relatives/families of the kids were invited to sit in the audience and on stage...you were asked to send in photos of your family members in uniform to be hung on display...anyhoo, a girl in Jake's class was asked to read a poem...he was so ticked that they didn't ask him. He felt he had more pictures of family at the tribute than her, so he should have been given first choice. lol
At his age....i would have been praying to be overlooked for that honor. lol

I always felt like the forcing of public speaking on me was child abuse lol not saying child abuse is funny, you know what I mean
I don't think it should be something kids have to do though, if they don't like public speaking odds are they are never going to like it and to force them makes it harder on them, I remember kids up there looking ready to throw up or pass out. Jess never had a problem with it thank goodness.
The little monkey in grade 2 volunteered me to go to her class and speak and make bread in front of the whole class, she told me the day before...but it turned out to be a lot of fun.

I will never forget when I was in elementary school, 5th grade to be exact. During our lunch the principle would randomly call the students up to the front of the room, go on stage and he would give us multiplication tables to do in front of everyone- you knew you had to know them in order to not get embarrassed in front of everyone- lunch should be relaxing, but in 5th grade for me it was not, it was horrible. I hate public speaking, and will never ever do it, I don't think you could pay me enough.

I only get nervous about public speaking if I'm not very familiar with the subject. If it's something I'm well versed in, I don't mind....

Regis mentioned the other day when speaking about children going back to school they sometimes get the heeby jeebies, that he gets them too.
Speaking before an audience of 36 million people (TV) would give anybody the willies. So much is at stake, one error could be very damaging.
Some actors claim they get butterflies before going on stage and some even vomit before a performance.
Cindy looked like she would rather be someplace else, lol. She has a beautiful figure and looked great in her suit. I admire her a lot, she will make a fine first lady.

I don't know but I don't see her as a first Lady at all, I think my all time favourite and who I think of when I think First Lady in every sense is Laura Bush..I think she is just perfect for it. To me she is a perfect blend of everything I picture in a frist lady
