The man is presidential in every way.
omg...to hear him speak of his torture ...I can't say enough about the respect I have for him.
He has the right stuff....he paid his dues...he is brave...he is wise...honest...straight shooting and a patriot.
I salute him!

When I was a registered democrat I always used to like McCain...I used to say that he was the only Republican I would ever consider crossing party lines to vote for...and now that my political stance has changed, I finally get the opportunity to do just that.
dang I love that Copeland music...so fits him.

Sarah Palin's nickname in high school was Sarah Barracuda...hence the song choice. lol

perfect!!! LOL!!!
wow, I just finished watching it and I loved him.
What I love the most is that I BELIEVE him. I believe he has only the best interest of this country in mind and if he says he's going to do something, he will. I swear, he is running for president to save this country and bring it back together.......he's not just trying to win an election. His goals are far more admirable than that.
He will keep us strong.......he will lead us to victory in Iraq and make sure it will be with the least casualties possible. He wants us to hold our head up proud that we freed a nation from a tyrant and have led the way to a democratic society for it's people. We will leave Iraq in better shape than when we entered it.
Happy, free, successful people don't want to fly planes into buildings. They don't want to strap bombs on their backs. The Iraqi citizens will have HOPE for a life full of happiness and choices that only a democracy can give.
Our young men won't have died for nothing!!!
If Obama gets his way, our men will come home with their heads hung in shame. The libs will spit on them again.........
McCain won't let that happen.
He is a great man. A HERO!!!!!!!!!!!!
One who I will be ~SO~ proud to vote for.
Wow!!!!!

I absolutely loved John McCain's speech last night. It was straightforward, honest, compassionate and he didn't waste time attacking his opponent. And let me say that those protesters who interrupted his speech early on did themselves and their cause a disservice. I have no problem with peaceful protest, but let the man speak and then protest fterwards. The protesters just came off as silly, IMHO.

Well, wouldn't ya know it, I watched everyone speak and then fell asleep before McCain spoke.
I'm sure I'll catch it today, either the whole speech or parts, on a news program.
He is a hero but I can't wrap myself around this guy.
:/
Hey, happy Friday all!

I was so moved by his accounts of his ordeal while being held captive during his time of military service to our country. He did a great job!
And didn't Cindy look beautiful! That color blue is fabulous on her.
And I loved his comment about the "protestors", about tuning out the static or something like that.

Well it appears the Wilson sisters haves asked McCain/Palin to leave their song alone ~
"We have asked the Republican campaign publicly not to use our music. We hope our wishes will be honored," the group said in a statement that said they "condemn" the use of the song at the Republican convention.

This is crazy.......Heart is making a fortune today from people downloading Barracuda on Itunes......
My son went and watched Heart live in concert a few weeks ago. He called me that night and it SUCKED!~
They need all the publicity they can get.......it's only down hill from this point on. Their talent is gone.

Ann Wilson first became aware of the use of the song after watching Palin's speech on TV.
They have fired off a "cease & desist" letter.
It seems they are pissed that no one requested persmission.

I wanted to come and post last night after he spoke. I sat down at the computer and *bam* -- the electricity went off. We were out for about 45 minutes. I went to bed shortly after it went off (still trying to play catch up after being fired up about Sarah the other night!)
I loved his speech. I do believe that he is the real deal. He (and Sarah, too) both touch my heartstrings. They seem like "me" and that they will understand "me" and my needs.
I will do anything in my power to help them get elected.

The only saving grace was that the electric went out AFTER his speech. Otherwise, you would have heard me yell all the way at your house, Scoops!!! LOL
It was probably a good thing in hindsight. I was pretty tired. :)

WOW! I would think they would welcome it
Its not like Heart is a household name anymore
Isnt there some law after a song is so many years old that it is free to use without permission?

I love Heart, but I have never seen them in concert.

I would think they would love it, too......I'm guessing it put some $$$ in their pockets.....
Guess they are staunch Democrats.....

I got to see McCain's speech yesterday, I had fallen asleep, before he spoke the other night, and WOW! What a great speech!
"Stand up and fight my fellow Americans, stand up and fight! He repeated that several times and it gave me chills.
I honestly believe "When" he is president, he will fight for we Americans!!

NEW YORK (AP) - In terms of drawing a television audience, John McCain and Barack Obama are in a virtual dead heat.
Nielsen Media Research said that 38.9 million people watched McCain accept the Republican presidential nomination on six commercial networks Thursday. PBS estimates its audience for McCain was 3.5 million.
Last week, Obama's speech in Denver was seen by 38.4 million people on commercial networks and 4 million people on PBS.
Add those numbers together - and they each had an estimated audience of 42.4 million. With Sarah Palin's speech on Wednesday, ..............................
{{{{more people watched the Republican convention this week than the Democrats the previous week.}}}}
if you went by the media coverage prior....who would've thunk it?. : )
