Looks like my Mom and Dad are going to be snow birds, lol.
They are almost 100% positive they are buying a buying a mini-home/ RV/ mobile home at a 55+ resort.
The resort is in a place called Zephyrhills, FL......are you at all familiar with the place and if so can you tell me a little bit about it?...of course I'll be taking advantage and visiting them lol

LOL at Monice- I did not even notice that....
Yes, I am familiar with that area- if it is the same as the last time I was there- which has been a few years it is rural- very laid back, close to Tampa, and the Gulf of Mexico. but not close enough to be in a traffic or alot of congestion of Tampa. Nice area, not alot of stores from what I remember, but they probably have a few more now- do they like shopping at the mall? If yes, I am fairly certain that Zephyrills does not have a mall, but Tampa has a few. It is also close to New Port Richey and Port Richey, also small areas.

As of you visiting, I know you will be visiting your folks, but if I remember correctly you are close to my age, I don't think there is much of a nightlife there, and that general area has some rednecks...well they did, maybe that has changed too. I bet they will like it, have they come to visit? I would do that first, I don't think that area is as populated as other areas such as the Villages. The villages probably offers more activities for older people, but alot more crowded.
Ps- Are your parents hip? Snow birds can be fun as long as they can see over the steering wheel, that they can drive at least the speed limit, they are close enough to USF and or UF they can get some college shirts to fit in....just kidding....well not about seeing over the steering wheel....tell them to avoid I-4 if at all possible, that major road ( takes you to Orlando) is horrible! I refuse to drive on it at all costs....they can go to Tarpon Springs, the sponge docks, I miss that area- amazing food!!

Thanks Monica!
lol, yep...my parents are pretty hip actually......they are still fairly young and both can see over the steering wheel, lol.
If hubby and I go to visit, and I am sure we will, we won't be looking much for the night life; a little R&R and sun sounds more fun to me right now.

You're welcome, glad I could be of help. I think they will like that area, not too crowded, which to me is a good thing. To the west of Zephyrhills, less than an hour drive away is the beach and the Gulf of Mexico. I am the same way, I am not into the nightlife anymore, relaxing and the sun is the best. There will be alot of fun places that they can go visit. Since they will be snowbirds the weather will be perfect, it is in the 50's right now and the highs today will only be in the 70's, tomorrow we are expected to be in the 40's for the lows.
