BAM STAFFERS PULL THEIR BOGUS OHIO BALLOTS

Thirteen campaign workers for Barack Obama yesterday yanked their voter registrations and ballots in Ohio after being warned by a prosecutor that temporary residents can't vote in the battleground state.

A dozen staffers - including Obama Ohio spokeswoman Olivia Alair and James Cadogan, who recently joined Team Obama - signed a form letter asking the Franklin County elections board to pull their names from the rolls.

The letter - a copy of which was obtained by palestra.net, a Fox News affiliate - came a day after prosecutor Ron O'Brien publicly urged out-of-state campaign workers for both Obama and John McCain to "examine your conscience" before the elections board beings begins opening absentee ballots today.

Earlier in the week, O'Brien spoke with lawyers for both camps and urged them to make sure their staffs met permanent-residency rules, or face possible felony charges.

Ummmmmm

I don't agree with your racially inappropriate comments at all -- after all there is so much more to dislike about Obama than race. His race should not matter at all in this day and age. I do agree with you about voter fraud, however. I'm in Ohio and I think Obama will win Ohio but I think he will win because of efforts by our stellar (not) secretary of state and Acorn. There must be Obama offices every five miles in every suburb I drive through. They seem to be staffed for the most part by very young clean-cut men and women. I hope he doesn't let them down because I do feel he will win. As far as yard signs, inner city Cleveland is all Obama. More affluent suburbs seem to be McCain. It also seems that our Jewish populated areas have more McCain's than Obama's. Every business owner I know is for McCain. I don't understand voter fraud -- why is it inappropriate to ask for identification -- I know the Dems feel this will inhibit some of their voters from voting but shouldn't everyone have some ID. Is it really so bad to require proof that you can vote?

good question

ummm, but you won't get an answer here. The group here just post to each other -- most of us newbies have given up

I thought that it was a rhetorical question. Sorry.

I don't think that it would be a bad idea at all to require proof.
Photo ID is required for less.

I think it is Ohio state law to show photo id when you vote; I know I have to and I live in an area where everyone at the polls knows me, so they aren't asking to verify who I am.

I voted absentee ballot here in Ohio. It didn't require a photo ID. I kind of wondered why they didn't ask for it, but didn't. I just marked my ballot and sent it in.

I'm legal though, honest!...lol

I'm sorry you newbies feel that way. I hope *I* myself haven't ignored any of you. There are just sometimes with me, I don't reply to everyone, but I DO read.

Since the ballot went to your address of record, It's harder to fake your ID??? That's my guess...

I found out that here, there is early voting, but there is only one location in the city, so I will wait until the 4th... Our polling place is much closer...

;0))

Yeah, you're probably right PK about the ballot going to the address of record.

It's kind of fun to actually go to the polls, but this year, I said..heck with it, I'll just vote absentee...(:

In Canada you need a photo ID and proof of your address. If you don't have photo ID they have other ways of verifying who you are, but I have never had to prove my identity, so I don't know what they are. We also get a voter registration card that we're supposed to take to the polls. Hubby threw ours out this time by accident LOL

Kim, It's the same way here too. Have to have the voter registration card to take to the polls.
I'm thinking probably the registration card was enough to verify my idenity to vote the absentee thingy.

Your system is very much like ours here
