Paul McCartney is just about ready to marry again.

He has been dating Long Island Nancy Shevell for a couple of years.

The other day, his divorce became final.

Nancy is 49 & Paul is 66.

I have never understood the fascination with Paul McCartney. The View wasted a whole hour on him recently. I guess they got that interview since the girlfriend is related to Babs.

they only wanted him because he was so "big time" back in the day

I was born in '77. I grew up listening to 80's and 90's music.

Wings ?

sam king cat
01-28-2009, 05:21 AM
I love them too. But we both were a little to young when 1964 arrived !!

We caught up to them after their BIG arrival.

If you speak to those who are in the 50s, they remember the 60s better !!

What I find is that their music is timeless.

Teenagers today are still buying it and can go to concerts with their grandparents and parents and be able to sing the songs together:

IMAGINE........all the people .....living .....

Very true Sam, we caught up with them after their big arrival and I agree, their music is timeless. I was going to rock concerts when I was 13, my two sisters ( who are older) who were in charge of babysitting me while our mom was at work and would take me to concerts and I grew up liking what they did and still do- such as Cream, Ten Years After.....there is some songs that just are timeless and every generation loves

Jules-Wings is a band that Paul McCartney formed after the Beatles

Now I am humming Imagine- love that song

Jules

See...you mentioned Cream....and now I've got "White Room" stuck in my head....

Monicauf1

Very cool that you like Cream- they were around the same time as the Beatles- the Beatles 1960-1970 and Cream 1966-1968- I love Eric Clapton, he is amazing, love his music, especially when he was with Cream

Jules

Seriously, I can't get it out of my head.....

In the white room with black curtains near the station
Black roof country, no gold pavements, tired starlings
Silver horses ran down moonbeams in your dark eyes
Dawn light smiles on you leaving, my contentment

(I love this part) :)
I'll wait in this place where the sun never shines
(omg i really love this part) :)
Wait in this place where the shadows run from themselves.....

Jules

then the kickass guitar riff.....

Jules

Well in THAT case...

Hi Paul! My mother used to have a crush on you!

I liked Paul very much when he was with the Beatles...after that I think he became kind of hokey.
I never liked the Wings music..ugh...Band on the Run and Listen to What the Man Said... etc...not my style at all. and the hokey song he did later with Michael Jackson, The Girl is Mine....disliked Ebony and Ivory with Stevie Wonder. I think he totally went downhill as far as "cool factor" after the Beatles.

Jules

I had forgotten about The Girl is Mine....

is that where, "Im a lover, not a fighter" came from?
