jtv's holiday paypal rebate... did anyone receive it?

Has anyone, anyone received their 20% rebate from jtv for using paypal? It was a before Xmas SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM. It's been 8 weeks today since I order & bubkas!!! I called paypal @ 5 wks, who initially said if I still have a problem at 6-7 weeks, they would start an investigation. When I called back at 7 wks, was then told it's really jtv's issue! I guess there goes my pp help. I would really like to know if anyone has received a penny from this "offer". Thanks

Oh, & I finally got my refund that I referred to in another post. Took them about 3 wks to process it & another 2 wks to post it to my cc. Absolutely no reason for taking this long!!!

They did say rebate in the promos & when I called in to ask about it. It's supposed to come as a 20% rebate back to your paypal acct FROM jtv - that's what I've been told. I splurged on a diamond ring for myself for Xmas & I shold be getting back $400. So, needless to say, I'm NOT letting go of this!!!

here's the thing

paypal while ok if you are transferring money TO someone has never ever really been good with returns and exchanges and stuff. in fact in the past who knows now, they used to charge your a fee for the transaction of a return. Unless the seller had an account that paid for the return. again, I don't know now.

then ebay bought it and it turned into a smelly big one that no one was crazy about

I am not buying any gems from TV now, not a good thing, prices MUST be down since the Tucson show was pretty empty, sure the buyers got (probably) good prices, and may sell for good prices, but will they still drop?

I've had Paypal for years, but have never really been happy with it. They actually take money out of your account if someone complains about you and hold it, whether the other person is a crook or not. I've sold things on ebay, the other person claims that they never received it, and Paypal takes their side without even researching it. I've lost hundreds of dollars with them. Anyway, I don't sell on ebay anymore, so it's over and done. I was very surprised to see JTV use them, though this holiday. I don't think that they use them now, or I never hear them mentioning it. I wouldn't be at all surprised that it was a scam by all involved.

Paypal & eBay. I had the opposite with them, but I ALWAYS use a credit card to pay as backup. Not that I have had many problems with them/sellers, but I always look at their feedback first, I check now to see who the bidders are (cannot see other than look for (0) and figured the (0) are shilling, eBay, imo, has made it easier by doing that. I would NEVER sell gems on eBay or BUY, especially SELL, easy to say not as expected, you MUST have a tracking number and IF I sell something worth over $30 or so, I insist on signature conformation.

As I said, always track (that is a PP must) and get signature IF over a certain price. Of course, eBay may be going the way of JTV, changed a LOT since I began back in mid sixties when you COULD make money and insist on various forms of payment, NO more, Paypal and some new way too, is all.

There is also a place I use to insure (as I do, even if they do NOT take SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM, really is protection for seller and NOT buyer) Again, it is protection for seller. Forget the name of it, has been such a long time, OH, u-pic I think it is that name, just not sure if it is a dot or a dash or what. If you sell a lot on eBay (and I do not) it is a lot cheaper than USPS, you can get a stamp that says 'insured by u-pic) that way NO lies, but I still get signature required IF above an amount I am not willing to lost.

that's actually not new.
I was once watching HSN and they had a yellow tanzanite. Wasn't really popular. I thought of getting it but I hate hsn. Won't ever order from them again after a debacle ten years ago.

Anyway, gem people are all in disagreement about the names of this, but tanzanite is a kind of zoisite.
Zoisite comes in a lot of colors.
Some people call it green or yellow tanzanite. Some call it green or yellow zoisite. Because they say tanzanite can only be blue purple.
Some people don't care if you call it tanzanite or zoisite so long as you call it the right color.
Before you heat zoisite that will be tanzanite, it has a lot of brown yellow and sometimes green in it. One gemologists calls unheated tanzanite baby poop tanzanite. It's pretty much that ugly.
But sometimes before it is heated it is crazy pretty. Sometimes when you heat it you can't get rid of the weird colors but they get more vivid.
BUt they aren't what people call triple aaa tanzanite.
But some people collect the weird colored ones.
I have heard different names applied - ocean tanzanite, blue green tanzanite, yellow tanzanite, zoisite, metamoric tanzanite and most recently chameleon tanzanite.
As I said, some of them are astonishingly beautiful. Others are simply awful. YMMV.
I will say however if you ever see a pure green zoisite it will take your breath away no matter who you are (not like the one on the jtv site)

as far as someone saying that gems are no longer in vogue. I have to laugh. The economy has hit worldwide. So there are few sellers willing to find markets because the markets don't have buyers. The buyers don't have money. They can't get credit to purchase large lots.

When someone says that colored stones are no longer in vogue, I ask: wow they have been powerful popular for 10,000 years. Why did it take so long for people to lose interest. That's just hilarious

The guys name was Jewel Hunter Jack but who knows what he is called now

if you go to their website they now have an ad for it

you are right too, when you click on the ad, it takes you to the andesine supply, now clearly labelled as diffused.

ANd for the most part, the redder it is the more expensive it is.
And the red ones are more expensive on that page then they used to be, but I can't remember the price for the lighter colored stuff.

What is really interesting to me is for the people who exercised their returns - and I either posted this here before or said it to someone in person - will probably be sorry in the end, because even tho treated the stuff is a pretty color it's probably going to go up in prices. Look at how popular london blue and mystic topaz is. even tho treated. Look how expensive blue topaz has gotten over the years even though it is treated. The largest on jtv loose today isn't even close to ten carats. There used to be a day when they had more london blue than could choke you.

a lot of jewelry buyers are uninformed and care more about the color than treatment. As long as people like bright red stones, the price will go up. I don't think bright red stones will go out of vogue soon

YESSSS! finally... I did something right with JTV!... and yes Robinzegg you did say that! And I checked on my green that changed color... I think it was Gemlover that said theirs became brown... Mine is still pretty!... However I did buy some pink jade from JTV and it has turned blue no longer pink... I should send it back to them and ask them what is the problem with it.... lol... wonder what they will do!... My green andesine (like Robinzegg said) is still beautiful!... I never did like the red andesine... I liked the orange color and have a ring of it from JTV... I saw a woman in my nail shop and she had the orange color andesine in a ring (about 2 years ago) it was beautiful! And she got it from JTV as well... it was a large stone... at that time she was doing alot of buying from JTV, HSN AND QVC ... I think... haven't seen here in a while need to ask her if she is still shopping with them.

I agree I watch them on the gem show to see what the prices are and to see what they bring out as the next "pariba tourmaline"... I am waiting for them now.... I watch them for the up to date news on stones like the Burma ruby not being exported and also heard about that on gemtv as well... I got the andesine form the other week. Wants info on stones/jewelry you bought (think receipt? forget) how much and all that. I wrote on the FORM. You lied about Andesine, I do not believe a word you say about anything and sorry I ever found your channel, was not a nice SCRAWL that I did, no bad words, but said everything I could fit in the white space on front page. I think I bought a small andesine, do NOT remember, was not much as I recall, but no way am I about to dig around to see if I can find all they want and wind up with a quarter or something like that. The lawyers get the money.

Oh, I disputed with my credit card company, as I said about the expensive item AND wrote to the Better Business Bureau as well, I am sure they do NOT want my business anymore, but they need NOT worry, they won't be getting any money from me for anything.

I have been watching HSN or did, think I stopped there too. What a difference their show hosts are, they speak English, good grammar, they have a clock to show something for just so long and do not play music for 10 or more minutes while they (dawn) go hit on someone else's man or whatever she does, why she is still there is WAY beyond me, but every time I turn on the channel (rarely, very rarely now) she seems to be the one on. Repeat of shows all the time and sales all the time of kwapy stuff, 18k over silver, they NEVER say that the told will rub off very soon, I KNOW that as I got a real leaf dipped in 24k gold as a gift for a friend, she loved it, pretty soon it was just a green or brownish leaf, most of the gold was gone. Just sell SILVER, total rip off, if you ask me, but then you did not:)
