Although I did my grocery shopping this afternoon, I'd neglected to buy dishwasher liquid and I had a washer full of dirty dishes. I didn't feel like running back to the store and my husband is off with his buddies, and HECK, I wasn't about to wash those dishes by hand!!! I decided to put baking soda into the machine.

It worked beautifully! The dishes are shinier than they've ever been. Nice and clean, too!

That's good to know, Jacinta. Thanks for the tip! I've had that same thing happen to me before. I do always have baking soda in the cupboard.

Here's another tip. Plain old white distilled vinegar works as well if not better than Jet Dry or any of the expensive dishwasher additives. It also removes odors.

I'll do today's dished with baking soda AND white vinegar. We'll see how things turn out!
