Is anyone else sick and tired of seeing Scott and Avi? I don't dislike her at all, but it sure isn't the same without Nicole. And the level of what appears to be desperation on ALL the shows on JTV now is very unappealing. I flip through, but now I always seem to end up watching Frank Circelli's channel. The hosts there aren't SCREAMING at you, and they don't bounce around in their chairs and cackle they are hopped up on something. Scott has ants in his pants, Dawn almost schreeches at you, and thats when I'd turn her off. I think I'm one step closer to just deleting JTV from my lineup. And how long are they going to run this "Opportunity Knocks" crapola? They really blew it in getting rid of certain hosts. I think they are dead in the water.

it would not surprise me if Sears closed. If memory serves, they merged with K mart a few years ago. In January they suspended pension contributions for employees. When a company stops doing this, you know trouble is coming. It's a shame, because that was one of the most reliable retailers for about a century now. It's not as if they aren't competitive with the walmarts either. Similar enough prices and quality is at least the same.

Bixbite is RARELY not included. It's just a red beryl, aka emerald, so it has its own form of jardin. If you ever locate a good quality one it'll be amazingly expensive just as a superior quality unincluded emerald would be. It's interesting that even with inclusions both are quite expensive. Bixbite of the 2 is far more rare though

Her producer gave her that stuff or someone, the price of ALL (I do believe) colored gems are waaaaaaaaaay down, diamonds are in - AND, BTW, I sent back the 'oops we made a mistake cabs/facets' and changed it to 'ooops, I made a mistake'

Take a look at the program guide, scott/avi not on until ONE day next week or I missed something, are they on the way out ?

Gold is said to go up to 2k or more within a year or so, that is what I want and buy etfs so it is not around for someone to take. Paper stuff.

They give training on how to use one in Senior citizen retirement homes so that people can keep in touch with their families... also, if you have a young child (like she does) this is one of the training tools for them... heck I'm way older than her and have the internet on my cell phone and can use the internet on my phone!... So you know that is a lie! I never did believe that one... she has to use the computer to see what the gemstones are selling for as well as what the count is... I have heard her say she was watching the screen... so here we go again with lies... I'm glad I'm kicking the habit of JTV... like someone said on another thread "They don't care!" and I think that is so unfair... collecting gemstones and watching them... use to be one of the highlights of watching tv... and although yes... Cheryl pushed the green andesine-labdorite... my stones are still pretty and I was lucky not to have any cracks in them... but she did study and tell you about the different gemstones and so did Nicole.... that they were selling... Scott did not keep up with that type of information... Sistah, We all need (think) to save our hard earned dollars or change even, but, IF what you bought you are pleased with, that is good, yes, you are the one who must like it.

I feel that if there are more than 1, they cherry picked that one, most look awful to begin with and I cannot afford to buy the expensive one of a kind.

Right about J/Geo getting great deals, all gems (colored more, think) have come down along with the rest of the economy, they may be getting great deals, but I truly think that makes what we bought at higher prices a year or more ago, has dropped down just as much and where does one sell them for what you paid???? You know they mark them up at least 2 or almost times what they paid, right there, back to the 'buy a new car, drive it out, price drops immediately' has to be same with gemstones, no?

I would be afraid to put things up on eBay or the like because, so easy for someone to say, not what it said, change the stone to glass or plastic. So, the stones or jewelry you have must stay around you to look at it and enjoy it and not think about prices.

I still do not understand about J 'was head buyer' so I thought, new guy comes in, Geo. and he is head buyer?? Course dawn or yawn:) says 'I spoke to one of our head buyers' HOW many head buyers do they have? I googled J and came up with all kinds of info - has his own business so it seems? I think best thing to do is go to reputable 'store/jewelry or ?' and eyeball whatever, you like it, can you haggle a bit? Then you buy there and not from a TV show that has 100 or whatever of this or that. SKULLS; LOL

I doubt they'll fire Avi or Scott. I get the feeling Scott is a friend of the JTV family and I think they'll keep Avi around because she's young and attractive. They only have about two or three other decent looking hosts, and let's face facts, they need all the help they can get.

Funny how shows like JTV feel they have to have attractive woman on the show when they are basically selling to women... Cheryl was not that attractive (not ugly) but a normal woman... When she went on to look good... she looked good! and if it was one of those days... it was one of those days! But you related to her more than Avi because of her knowledge of what she was selling... In watching JTV yesterday, I have noticed a lack of passion in Avi's voice that she used to have. It seemed that she liked learning about gemstones and jewelry, but now, she's just seems to be mimicking what everyone else says. I don't know whether it's something they've told her to do, or she's just disgusted. I used to love Cheryl and I miss her so much. I agree with you when you say that when Cheryl felt like it, she dressed beautifully and fixed her hair and make up and looked just great. Other days, when she didn't feel like it, she looked like she just crawled out of bed. I didn't care, it was what she said that was important, not what she looked like.

The only ones that I can possibly stand anymore are Robert and Brooke. But, even last night, when I was watching their jewelry show, showing diamond rings, they slipped in some Bella Luce. What a disappointment.

And, I agree with the other replyer, when I turn the channel and hear certain "twangy" voices, I just continue on and don't even see what they're showing. I used to be able to tolerate them, when they were showing good stuff, but no more.

Some seem to do it by rote: "Now I have to say tanzanite is a one source gemstone from Tanzania; the darker the better; you want AAA color; it's not going to last forever....yada, yada, yada." I always thought Casey sounded like she was searching for the next statement to make. Avi seems that way too, but she is a bit smoother and likes to embellish with certain words. I guess there's only so much info about any gem; some hosts are just more natural about presenting it.

I've always found that questionable.
If I am not paying attention to the stone or jewelry because of the host - whether because they are annoying me (Wendy) or purposely (Tommy's purposeful stone flip)
I am NOT buying because I never SAW what you were trying to sell

Not to mention the host during whose show I utterly tune out of because of propensity for straight out lying
Cheryl, Scott, and Sharon. for 3.

I don't care what they look like or what they say.
I usually will tune out the stupid sound to concentrate on the goods.
If the goods sux I ain't buying no matter how many consumer surveys to the contrary saY I shoulda got hooked.

Frankly I usually put the channel on PIP so I barely see it unless something colorful screams through the tiny image. Rare in the past and now NEVER, not for the past 3 years

I think Avi has the potential to become a great host, but they always feel the need to pair her with someone like she can't host a show by herself. Back before JTV underwent the massive changes, she used to host by herself (albeit late at night). Back then, she was actually enthusiastic and seemed to genuinely care about what she was selling. You could almost tell when she thought something was a piece of crap, but she still sold it well. Not too over the top about it at all.

I think the PTB must've told all of them to adopt the same sales pitch because nearly all of them are way too jazzed up about the UGLIEST items and all of them say the same thing about the same gemstones. I know there's only so many gemstones in the world, but they keep hawking tanzanite over and over again. Enough already!

Well...the company is run by men so of course they're going to choose pretty young women to host because that's what they want to see. I think they should have certain hosts do gemstone shows and others should concentrate on jewelry. I think more people would take the hosts seriously if we knew they were knowledgeable in one area of gemology and jewelry. That's why I always felt they shouldn't have sacked Casey, Nicole and Cheryl. They were all gemstone girls and knew what they were talking about.

It would be nice if it was mandatory for everyone on JTV to study the stones they will be showing! they know what product they are getting for the next day so they should have all of the information on the stone or at least attempt to study up on it before they go on the air... Dawn use to do that... so did Cheryl and Tamara... Didn't like Tamara (reminded me to much of the " Wizard of Oz") but she did not come on air "Stupid"

It would be nice if it was mandatory for everyone on JTV to study the stones they will be showing! they know what product they are getting for the next day so they should have all of the information on the stone or at least attempt to study up on it before they go on the air... Dawn use to do that... so did Cheryl and Tamara... Didn't like Tamara (reminded me to much of the " Wizard of Oz") but she did not come on air "Stupid"

Be careful what you wish for. Sheree is going for her GG...is one course away! I'm doing that last course now and it is NOT easy, but I'm sure she will have help from the people over there.She should have a lot more knowledge after taking all the courses, I catch her in so many stupid mistakes I just shake my head.

So true! Right now it does not seem that she has learned anything! I listened to her today and was not impressed! Had you not told me that she was studing for her GIA I would never have guessed!
