You all must know who "Fat Bastard" is. That pil pooping, cigar smoking , woman hating SELF LOATHING NARCISSIST, RL!. He is a billionaire thanks to the venom loving brainless twits who follow him. If that is the model of the conservative I DON"T WANT TO BE ONE! It is laughable to think how stupid anyone is who follows his dribble. Who is he for except himself? His self loathing must have multiplied looking at that body. He really has that much power that the dimwit Republicans have to apologize for anything they say about him. What does that say about our country. No wonder so many Republicans went away from the dark side to vote for Obama! First of alll these blithering idiots don't seem to know what they are taking about wgen they speak. Fat Bastard was given an award for defending the constitution but he did not seem to know what he thinks is the constitution is the Bill of Rights. These dimwits seem to get off on hatin' and not relatin'. I bet the majority of Americans don't know who RR was unless tehy have one of these dimwits as a relative and have been brainwashed since birth. We are not born with these nasty, close minded ideals. They are learned and taught.

Listen even Melinda Gates wants an IPhone but when your hubby is Mr. PC well whats a millionaires to do? Well she doesn't bash Mr Jobs or Apple.

So do you think Fat Bastard will carry on with his ill will? He seems to have mastered a way to keep the hate ball rolling? Or do you think his hot air is valid and will bring back the trickle down , favor the mega rich deregulate, deregulate make hate, hate, hate mentality?

Where do these right wing radio shows live? I have never heard any of these shows. Are they
AM, FM or Satellite radio? Sorry but I envision some hill billy, toothless , KKK type out in the middle of nowhere, uneducated with no access to reality, rigging up a coat hanger antenna
and finding and listening to these radio shows. Do they really have power? What kind of person is influenced by them? I guess it is the same people who watch Fox news. They seem to have a bunch of nut bags on that station. Anne Coulter types. She's deranged! I don't know if they are helping or hurting the Republican party. I just pray that they are not replicating offspring and passing on their genetic defects.

He has an approval rating of 11% among under 40 voters. That's lower than Bush's.

The only person who cares about Rush's opinions is Rush--he's a bloated blowhard and braggart who has to constantly toot his own horn because no one toots it for him.

I often have no choice but to listen to the tail end of his radio program--we live in the mountains where reception runs from poor to non-existent--and if I want to catch news or weather, I have to turn my car radio to his station, as most others do not come in without static. I often laugh out loud while driving alone at the idiots who call in and totally suck up to his ego just to get a chance to talk with him live on the air. If someone has a dissenting opinion, he does not take their calls unless he is sure he can embarrass them live.

Remember when he hosted Monday night football a few years ago? He was fired after one broadcast after saying that blacks "can run faster and are stronger because it is in their genes." What an idiot--I wouldn't follow him to a rest room...

Speaking of him tooting his horn, remember the terrible movie with Jack Benny....The Horn Blows at Midnight. Rush blows everday around noon doesn't he? He has made a fortune off his faithful. I imagine most of them are still struggling while he sits back and eats and blows off making money off them. He is laughing all the way to the bank. During the Bush regime, what did he have to talk about? He has to make up profits for lost years of failure of his party of which he now feels he is the leader. The worse the country feels and is, the better Rush feels and the more money he makes. No wonder he is hoping for failure.

Rush occasionally used to have a reasonable point of view. He just doesn't get it - we voted the Republicans out of power in 2006 and 2008 because their so-called conservative agenda, which really only took care of the wealthiest white people, ruined the country!

Rush is the leader of conservatives? HUH? They believe in belittling people and oppression? Oh yeah that is what this country was founded on a bunch of rich white men , writing about freedom yet holding slaves, not allowing women to vote, considering both "property". Refusing education as it may give them competition. That is what BigBag stands for, so if that is what conservationism is about then someone stick a prick up his ass and let him "blow". I remember his comment that the women's movement was in "invention" to help "unattractive" women enter into mainstream. I wonder what he has to pay to get laid. He is a glutton , a glutton of all things not just money , drugs and food. Little dick syndrome. He does suffer from self loathe. What a pitiful party those Republican shave become. Do they worship HOOVER? He did give us his own damn and broadcasting(thanks) How do they expect the United States to operate if they keep lowering taxes. I'm afraid to drive across a bridge in this country! Not that a train or plane is any safer. Maybe we should do some more deregulation.

Actually, Rush Limbaugh was never a commentator on ABC’s Monday Night Football. He was hired to have a part the Sunday pre-game show on ESPN (NFL Countdown). And he didn’t say what you claim to have said. He issued his opinion that Donovan McNabb, the QB for the Philadelphia Eagles, was overrated. He felt that the media covering professional football conspired to praise McNabb and position him on a pedestal he had not earned. The reason for this conspiracy was that they wanted a black quarterback to succeed in the NFL, never mind that there already were several successful black quarterbacks. According to Limbaugh, the Eagles success (making it to two consecutive NFC championship games at the time) was due exclusively to the prowess of their defense. Their quarterback was simply along for the ride, yet the sports media was determined to make sure he received most of the credit.

Because of the public furor over this comment, Rush resigned from ESPN. Shortly thereafter, it came out about his painkiller addiction.

So, if you are trying to paint him as a racist, you might want to get your facts straight.

IMO, I didn’t think his comments were racist. He was not attacking McNabb because of his race. He said that McNabb was overrated as a QB, which is an opinion many held at the time and many still do. He then theorized that the reason by the media made him out to be a better QB than he really was. It was an attack on the media. Would there have been an equal public furor if Rush said that he thought that Tom Brady was overrated and the media overhyped him because he is white? So, if the only difference in the “outrage” is that it is okay to claim that the media is biased in favor of whites, but its racist to claim that the media is biased in favor of African-Americans, then this difference of opinion is itself racist.

Ironically, I think the same could have been same about the last presidential election. Obama was clearly the darling of the media (Fox News notwithstanding). There have been several independent studies that confirmed such biasness (and were even reported in some of the newspapers with the biggest biasness!). Do you think the media would have been fawning over him if he was 100% white? Do you think he would have won the nomination to be the Democratic candidate if he was all white? Be honest. After all, Hillary had better qualifications than Obama . . . she had been a US Senator longer, she had spent 8 years in the White House. But the media quickly adopted Obama as its favorite, because the first black president made for a better story than the first woman president. Or maybe because white guilt is stronger than male guilt.

[Gordon Brown] had put clearly great thought into giving the U.S. President lavish gifts to signify Britain’s ’special relationship’ with the U.S.

During his historic trip to Washington, Gordon Brown gave Barack Obama an ornamental pen holder made from the timbers of the Victorian anti-slave ship HMS Gannet - once called HMS President.

The unique present delighted Mr Obama because oak from the Gannet’s sister ship, HMS Resolute, was carved to make a desk that already takes place in the Oval Office in the White House, after being presented by Britain to the US in 1880.

The Prime Minister went to the trouble of hunting down the perfect gift after becoming the first world leader invited to the White House by the new Commander In Chief.

So it would be perfectly understandable if Mr Brown felt a little underwhelmed at the official gift he received in return. For despite being leader of the world’s most bountiful nation, President Obama handed over nothing more thought-provoking than 25 classic American films on DVD.

It was the equivalent of receiving a pair of socks from an unfamiliar aunt at Christmas - and a less-than-glowing affirmation of the UK-US bond.

…Mr Brown also took to Washington a framed commission for HMS Resolute, a vessel that came to mark Anglo-US peace when it was saved from ice packs by Americans and given to Queen Victoria.

He also gave a first edition set of the seven-volume classic biography of Churchill by Sir Martin Gilbert.

Mr Brown and his wife also showered gifts on the Obama children giving Sasha and Malia an outfit each from Topshop and six children’s books by British authors which are shortly to be published in America.

In return, the Obamas gave the Browns two models of the presidential helicopter, Marine One, to take home to sons Fraser and John.

Dang, and here I thought I was going to come over here and all of England would love me because it’s “cool” to be an American since “we” elected Obama, but then he has to be a stingy asshole with the gifts and now I’m reading letters to the editor and online commentary about how this is “typical” of Americans, we have no sense of history or dignity, we are crass, etc. WTF? I thought Obama was gonna change the world. By which I mean heal the world. With his special hands of healing power.

Barbi - I think your reference to Rush's statement during the football game was really made by Jimmy the Greek. He was off the air ASAP after that remark.

Rush's statement as reported in Time Magazine, 10/6/03:

Rush Limbaugh, conservative pundit and commentator on ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown", recently resigned from ESPN amid controversy over his remarks on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb. Limbaugh said McNabb was an overrated player and attributed McNabb's notoriety to a media push in favor of black quarterbacks: "I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL," he said. "I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They're interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there's a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn't deserve. The defense carried this team."

People are still debating the talent of McNabb, five years later~

How pitiful your posts are. Everyone seems to be to the extreme of their views, It is so sad how right our President is about the bad education people have gotten in this country. In my state their are no regulations for education, the local school board decides what the kids learn. That would be fine if the board had some finely educated people on it but unfortunately it is not the case. No one here has expressed their own thoughts or opinions but merely regurgitated the spew of the ignorance they follow. Try learning some FACTS and you will all feel better. Luckily we have a president who cares about all the people not a select few. Can you imagine if McCain had won? We would see the dissolution of the worlds greatest power. The man hasn't got a clue. He would be listening to the same people who led us into the hole we are occupying. Go to factcheck.org and learn the truth before you spread your ridiculous lies. 98% of what you hear is incorrect and as the stories spread they become even more ridiculous. There is no law suit against Obama not being an American citizen he was born in the United States and FYI you can be born on Mars and if one of your parents holds a US passport the you are an American Citizen and given an American passport. IF you ignorant , bigoted rednecks would invest a little time (I'm sure it would take far less than the time you waste here) learning facts about our constitution and reading the truth you would be better served. We have the most transparent person on office ever. You can go to the government website and learn the truth. Try becoming enlightened. You can continue to listen to falsehoods and make yourselves miserable or learn the truth . Please stop saying things that are not FACTS and we will all be better off.

I don't even know what to say about all of this. Rush is exactly what he is, a guy who has become rich because millions listen to him. It seems to me that part of all of this most recent stuff is that people around Obama are plalying on all of that, too, so they will look better.

Whatever, I know this is an open forum, but why so much time on this subject here. I know my politics, but surely don't think it is important on a QVC site. Would rather talk about Denim& Co., or, maybe even make fun of Susan Graver.

I do think anyone who prefers serious subjects such as our current financial dilemna should at least be able to spell a few words correctly in each post.

I had forgotten that during the primaries, Rush Limbaugh was encouraging the members of his party to vote democrat and vote for Hillary because he felt she was more beatable than Obama. Many listened to him then because he is the voice of the party. Nobody wants to admit it in public but they all stop and listen and apologize if he finds fault. He is like the pied piper. Wonder if he has a lot on them that they are so afraid to cross him. Now, Rush supporters are claiming that James Carvel and Paula Begala and Rahm Emanuel have also plotted. Sounds like tit for tat. Maybe Democrats should also vote in the next primary for republican opponents to defeat incumbants. Use Limbaugh's stragegy against him. Carl Rove tactics and mean spirited politics can work both ways.

OBAMA WATCH CENTRAL
White House nightlife under investigation
'This party atmosphere sends the wrong message'

An organization that serves as a watchdog on the U.S. government for American taxpayers has launched a campaign to uncover exactly how much tax money is being spent on parties at the Obama White House.

The president has shown a penchant for lavish galas, such as the huge assembly orchestrated in Denver when he accepted his party's nomination for president – an outdoor gathering for some 75,000 featuring a stage with Greek columns. He also held a multimillion-dollar victory celebration in Chicago, and his fancy inauguration cost an estimated $170 million, according to ABC News.

Now, Larry Klayman, founder of Freedom Watch, told WND today he's seeking information about the partying in the White House since the Obamas moved in.

Freedom Watch is seeking information from the federal government on who had input into bailout legislation and whether they got anything in return.

Klayman said the reports of the partying at the White House, "with the likes of Steve Wonder and other high priced entertainment stars," will be the focus of document requests being submitted to the General Services Administration. The requests will seek to determine how much taxpayer money is being used.

"Barack and Michelle Obama have been throwing taxpayer funded parties nearly every night with their 'friends' and supporters, with Michelle Obama even exhorting them not to 'break' White House property," Klayman's announcement said.

"This party atmosphere sends the wrong message to the American people. As the Obama-Clinton crowd party on, the American people are suffering greatly," Klayman said.

"It was right to criticize corporate execs for using taxpayer bailout money on bonuses and corporate junkets. In the face of this criticism, it is an outrage for Barack and Michelle Obama to party on, as Rome burns. It's like throwing a party at a funeral," he said.

According to a report by the news and commentary website Politico, many of the parties have been just that – parties, not political and government meetings.

"Using one of the world’s most famous private residences as bait, President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama are unleashing a bipartisan charm offensive and exploiting every square inch of their new home to make friends and influence rivals. The social calendar suggests a return to the days of Camelot," the report said.

"Since moving into their new digs, the first couple has hosted a half-dozen gatherings – from bipartisan cocktail receptions to a public open house to the more intimate Super Bowl party ... ending many of their days past midnight," the report said.

"Most recently … the Obamas opened the White House doors to House caucus leaders from the moderate Blue Dog Democrats and the Congressional Black Caucus. White House aides say the couple hopes to make the Wednesday cocktail parties a tradition."

The report quoted White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers saying the Obamas want to "replicate the same kind of environment they had in Chicago."

"If there was a party or an event [in Chicago], they were there," the report quoted "a friend" saying.

But is anything of government value accomplished?

"You would have felt like a fool talking about politics at this party," said Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-D.C., said after one major event. "I was surprised how much of a social event it was and how little of a political occasion it was."

Insiders said in the report that the Obama social schedule is busier than any other previous occupants of the White House.

"We haven't seen this kind of entertaining in a really long time," Dee Dee Myers, former White House press secretary to Bill Clinton, said in the report.

According to an ABC report, many of the parties have been on Wednesdays, and the report confirmed one featured a Stevie Wonder concert.

"This is a pretty big house, so we get lonely," the report said Obama announced. "It's hard for me to move around out there some times so I got to bring the world to me." Published reports said the Jonas Brothers were on hand in the White House for a special event for the Obama daughters, Sasha and Malia, on inauguration night.

Dinners have featured lavish menus including "Celery Soup, Wild Mushroom Crisps, Steelhead Salmon with Citrus sauce, Crispy Spinach, Toasted Saffron Couscous Pearls, Baby Iceberg lettuce with Maytag Bleu Cheese and Yogurt ranch dressing and for dessert, Milk Chocolate velvet cake" – all served on gold-rimmed china.

Klayman has taken on the establishment in Washington several times, including when the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee interviewed Sen. Hillary Clinton for her appointment by Obama as secretary of state.

The senators, however, ignored the shady parts of her background involving "Chinagate" and "Filegate," he said.

In the Chinagate scandal, documented on the website for Judicial Watch, which Klayman previously led, technology companies allegedly made donations of millions of dollars to various Democratic Party entities, including President Bill Clinton's 1996 re-election
Filegate" developed when President Clinton and Hillary Clinton were accused of violating the privacy rights of their perceived political enemies by wrongly accessing and misusing the FBI files of staffers in the Reagan and George H.W. Bush administrations, among others.

There are lots of crooks on both sides in Washington. That is why much change is needed. There were pictures during the campaign of McCain boarding a yacht of the millionaire boyfriend of Ann Hathaway who was recently imprisoned. My retired friend from Congress who served under 7 Presidents had the distinction of never accepting a pay raise while serving all those years. He was a man of honor. He was also a Korean Veteran. There are still many honorable people in Congress but the few that are questionable sure stink it up for the many who are honest. The American people are losing faith in both parties. Work together and get something positive done soon.

We have a couple in the White House who both came from humble beginnings. They managed to put themselves in a place most people can only dream of. They both worked hard to get where they are and who better than them can relate to all Americans. They have seen poverty to wealth and everything in between. For Barack serving is an honor. He sees it as a way to help all Americans. People need to step back and let the man do his job. Why is ti all right for Corporate America to get welfare but not those who need help? What is wrong with people paying their fair share of taxes. All the name calling and misinformation is nonproductive and just incites hate. The Fat Man is singing bit it ain't over, he is laughing all the way to the bank. Why don'y you all spend some time learning the TRUTH and THINK FOR YOURSELVES?!?

Rush got in trouble for drug abuse but not for NOT paying his fair share of taxes just like any other wealthy person. It seems like more than a few of our new people in Washington have had to file amended returns. I dare you to do the same thing and see if you get away with it. Try starting out with an accusation of tax evasion and a 100% penalty and hope you don't get thrown in jail, for starters! With the IRS, you are guilty until you are proven innocent. We have a tax evader RUNNING the IRS!

You also need to get some facts straight and no, this is not from Rush or any other right-wing source - it's just the truth: The wealthy pay the most in taxes. The wealthy are the schmucks that go into business and employ people. They also pay all of the additional taxes (including workers comp and unemployment) that are NOT payroll deductions. That money does not constitute a payroll deduction for an employee!

Remember the tax rebate checks that were sent out a while back? Well...don't you have to BATE in the first place to get a RE-BATE? Most of those checks went to people that did not owe income taxes. They get a tax REFUND every year!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Michelle was from a middle class upbringing. She seemed to have a decent childhood, etc. She's not from the ghetto.

While you are at it, could you please explain the $900.00 plus argyle sweater Michelle had on in London? Yes, the SWEATER was over $900.00, not her entire outfit. If it was another First Lady, she would have been ripped to shreds and we all know it.

I would like to know where you got your information on those rebate checks! Once again, people that got tax rebate checks did not pay taxes. I will simplify this even more: If you DO write a check to the IRS on April 15th, you PAY income taxes. If you get a refund check, YOU DO NOT PAY TAXES!!!! Do you even know the difference between PAYROLL taxes and INCOME taxes? Appartently not.

Didn't Michelle grow up in Chicago? As for her $900 sweater, before Michelle was first lady she was making a very nice 6 figure salary at her job. High powered female executives normally have fantastic wardrobes - so I don't see anything extreme about the price tag. You have to remember, Nancy Reagan got slammed for borrowing $50,000 gowns (and that was back in 1981) so I don't see where anyone would be complaining about her wearing that sweater.

I am totally impressed by Michelle. She is a total class act. I like having someone with her sense of style as first lady. She sure beats Laura Bush's dowdy librarian look and Hilary's boring pantsuits.

Puddy is right about the rebate checks - the only people who are getting one this round of the stimulus are people collecting Social Security - and the get $250 each. People on social security do not pay taxes.

For working folks, even if you get a refund, you paid (and the government collected) at least some taxes. I worked in Payroll for years and you would not believe the games some people play with their withholding to avoid taxes. All they ended up doing in the end was making more work for the poor payroll staff.

Don't waste your energy with the leftie pinheads, Puddy. Their poster-boy's legacy is already in place - a trillion-dallar budget defecit (with promises of more for the duration of his term), in his first hundred days. Weekly cocktail parties on the taxpayer's dime. A FIVE HUNDRED-PRESON entourage for his current European trip - also on the taxpayer's dime (or should that be nickel by now?). Looming nationalization of the American automotive industry. An 8.8% national unemployment rate that's still climbing weekly (up from 6.2% since January 20). And treasonous remarks about his own country's "responsibility" for the global economic mess during the G20 summit - after I heard those, that finished him in my book.

Rush Limbaugh is an easy target for the left, but then he has been for the last 20 years, for God's sake. Each and every day, he makes no secret that his show is ABOUT HIM (and his opinions), so to paint him as a "spokesman" for Conservatives is short-sighted, naiieve, and just plain lazy. I'm sure Rush laughs all the way to the bank - then turns around and gives everybody on his staff a nice bonus every year, because he truly values their work. This is in addition to paying his taxes (which I would figure at being near the 60% bracket), remember. How many of Obama's crew - especially his Cabinet nominees - have clean tax histories, let alone give out bonuses?

WE are the poor suckers footing that bill, rest assured.

I think the McCain camp was right when they called the Palins the hillbillies from Wassilla. There are too many skeletons in that closet to be Vice President or President of the United States. While she may be tough on some issues, she does not possess the intelligence needed to tackle all the problems future Presidents will have to tackle. She will be lucky to hold the state of Alaska together. She had her time in the limelight and she was very photogenic. McCain was trying to get the Hillary vote and now with their black head of the GOP, they are again trying to copy what they perceive to be working with voters. They need to go back and decide what their issues are and select spokespersons who best represent them. Maybe not too far right but more toward the center since the majority of voters are leaning that way. Palin was a Libertarian in her thinking and is opportunistic and used McCain as much as he used her. She should be more appreciative for getting the opportunity she did instead of bashing them for mistakes she thinks they made. They were supposedly a team.

QUOTING FROM POSTER: Qvsee;1856722 (Post Number)

McCain was trying to get the Hillary vote and now with their black head of the GOP, they are again trying to copy what they perceive to be working with voters.

I take exception with this statement, that the GOP is "copying" anything. Clarence Thomas, Condeleeza Rice, JC Watts - all have been successful black conservatives, enjoying prominent positions in all three branches of our government. All were well established before anyone ever heard of Obama. Ironic that Clarence Thomas faced his toughest criticism from Joe Biden; kinda makes you wonder how Joe feels now being second banana to Obama. But, because all of the above are conservatives, they don't count, or have bad fashion sense, or whatever. What's Carol Moseley Braun up to these days? Has Charlie Rangel left a decent legacy for his party, or is he just a rabble-rouser when there's a photo-op? Will Jesse Jr. ever get his old man to shut the hell up? There is no comparison, or at least one that honest liberals will admit to.

That's the real tragedy of all this.

Obviously from all the interest of voters this year and all the lines people stood in, they saw something different in Obama. Even Colon Powell came over and voted for him. I bet there were a lot of republicans who privately voted for him. Maybe if McCain and Palin had not been the opposition, the election would have been closer. The campaign that was run by Obama was supberb and unfortunately for McCain, he had the wrong people guiding him. He was and is still a well respected man but succumed to a game plan that was not him. He and Palin turned off many voters with their constant personal attacks and lack of real solutions. The robo calls that spewed hatred and fear may have done more to elect Obama than McCain. And, poor Joe the Plumber became a laughing stock. He was and is just an everyday Joe with conservative opinions that thinks he is a driving force now in the party. Comedy of errors from day one.
