She made a statement (while hawking some cosmesutical wonder that she's supposedly used for 3 years) that she was "proudly all of 47". This explains a few things. The lady is bumping up against the big 5 - 0 and fighting every step of the way. This explains the hair (which looked especially bad on Monday night) and the 50's prom dresses she comes up with. Janie, Janie, Janie you can't turn back the clock. Embrace your maturity and live with it.

I must say, "50s prom dresses" is the perfect way to describe her recent attire. I know she's probably thinking that reams of fabric will disguise her hips and tree-trunk legs, but sometimes, less is really better. And as for the hair, I blame QVC--surely there is someone responsible for the hosts' hair and makeup--whoever it is is falling down on the job big time...
The other day, while presenting Susan Graver pieces, JRT wore a sheer tunic over a shorter tank--but, because she's short, the tunic dipped below her knees. She was wearing wide-leg pants, and the entire look was of an elf wearing drapes...

OMG, Barbie, your descriptions are priceless: Tree trunk legs, an elf wearing drapes. Hilarious.

JRT is a joke! She is so fugly and has absolutely no sense of style. The scariest thing is she is raising 2 daughters to be freaks like her! We definitely don't need more idiots like her! She is so full of herself and honestly thinks she is cool, NOT! QCV would do themselves a favor to find a 50+ female host who has a sense of style and sophistication that is sorely lacking! I am sure that is their target audience who has the money to spend at QVC. She would not have to be an anorexic speed freak who rattles on like a mindless twit, they have enough of those. Someone like Carolyn Pollack who acts her age and looks stylish without overdoing it. These other host all act like they are trying way to hard. Either you have it or you don't and
none of them seem to have anything to offer. Why did they ever take her back? Are they just desperate or what?

Uh yeah........she's proudly all of 47 and looks every year of it too.
I think she's about as good a rep for that product as MBR is for neck cream. :D

...she's a blathering idiot who thinks she's Barbie-Doll cute and tries to act adorable...when, in reality, she has a painted-on hairdo accented by Mamie Eisenhower dresses. Add to the mix the age spots that cover her hands and visible parts of her chest, and you have JRT--a 47-year-old matron, nothing more...

Mamie Eisenhower dresses!! Oh, yes. They had big skirts and were ankle length. And they were usually bright pink. It was a bad look even then.

What I want to know is why, why, why does she wave her hands around all of the frigging time? I'll bet if we tied her hands down, she would be struck speechless. Let's get a rope and give it a try!
On embracing impending middle age - She needs to embrace the accompanying middle age spread. Her blazers tug at the buttons. Go up a size and have the sleeves shortened.
The hair color is way to severe for her age AND for high definition television.

And just think - Tuesday is St. Paddy's day. We will be treated to the elf masquerading as a leprechaun - big ears and all. I can hardly wait (NOT!!)

Today they had a YSL show and she said that her 13 yo daughter uses YSL. Give me a break already. And the hair looked even darker and shorter than usual with stray pieces sticking out all over her head. She looked like she just got a swirly in a tub of black ink.

This is the same kid who has several Dooney & Bourke pocketbooks, right? I can't wait for the typical teenage rebellion to manifest itself - my bet is the girl will go goth. Can't you just see Jane hawking Joan Rivers nail polish and telling the world that Cara loves the black shade?

My husband used to make me mute the tv when she was on. He could not stand all the talk about ballet and her family. Just walking through the room, he got sense of her being a bit much and phoney. I did used to watch her silver shows and learned to tune all that other out because she could sell the silver but she has passed her prime like many of us.....And, since returning to QVC, she has gotten worse. No doubt the pressures of getting older and competing with the younger hosts. She lost her place of time slot prominance when she left and had to kind of start over.

I heard her during her walk-on today (Cooking Day) with Leah: "We all can't own everything..." referring to the Keurig coffe maker. They MUST read this board. They just have to.

I am sure I heard her say that she owns a Keurig. She said she made hot cocoa for her daughters with it. I have no doubt that they get freebies from the manufacturers. Can you imagine the Christmas loot they must get?

Hell, she mentioned the coffee maker on Saturday AND on Sunday and the killer-diller is that I cought BOTH references while channel surfing!
MBR said that the hosts get to try products. The stuff like food and beauty products are used and they get to keep what's left. Stuff like a sweeper or other appliance goes back. They do get a 30% discount so I would buy from QVC if I worked there but they need to be mindful of what it sounds like!

Either that, or she colors it in with Lisa's black Sharpie. :D

Jane was actually dressed in an outfit that was relatively contemporary and seemed to fit and flatter her today. She does need to fluff and lighten the hair and lower the amount of makeup she wears - I don't know if it is the high def cameras, but today her face almost looked like a Kabuki doll.

I saw JRT standing behind a table loaded with silver yesterday--and I have never, ever seen her hips look so huge. They were enormous--and, isn't she the one who chirps all over the place about doing Pilates regularly when it's on???

Jane seems to be one of those people (we all have known a few) who actually inhabit two universes - the real world and her preferred venue of "perfectland". I really feel sorry for folks like that, they never seem to enjoy what is actually in their life.

I think Lisa R is like that. She thinks happiness is high end everything. I worked with a girl once and all she talked about was money. She had me losing sleep at nights worrying that I would not be able to afford putting my two sons through college because I stayed home with them when they were young. Everything worked out but she was obsessed with keeping up with all the small town hypocrits and wannabees.........Phoney Baloney....

Many of those people who had to have the best of everything and only wore designer clothes are now in deep trouble. Their fancy homes are being foreclosed and the creditors want to be paid. They thought the fun would never end, but the joyride is over for so many. Those Madoff investors are looking for waitress jobs. They are in hock up to their face lifts. The pink slips are still going out to people who thought their jobs were secure. Poor pathetic jerks who based their happiness on living large are now wondering what happened.

Pebbles, what you said is true. Unfortunately the mess has not only hit the "rich and famous", but the little guy as well. I'm seeing this in my own family and it breaks my heart.
Our "help wanted ads" have gone from an entire section of the newspaper to perhaps a page and then only on Wednesdays and Sundays. Caterpiller in Lafayette announced more layoffs yesterday due to a drop in the demand for diesel engines. Indiana's unemployment rate is over 9%, higher than the national average (primarily due to the collapse of GM and the demise of the RV industry.) Indiana was the leading builder of recreational vehicles. That industry is basically no more. Obviously we've not hit bottom yet - the economy is still searching for it. (and I hope it finds it soon.)

My family has been hit, too, Hoosiergirl. My son who had been employed as a manager for an upscale dept. store for 10 years got laid off without warning along with the district manager and the manager above him. He has been sending out resumes but so far, nothing.
My complaint is with those who lived beyond their means and thought the bubble would never burst.
