It is gorgeous outside and I am helping a co-worker with her resume and KSA's. It is too early to have a drink so I am gonna vent and make some cookies ( that always relaxes me). You guys know I work at the VA, well my department is being relocated to Orlando. Nothing to do with the economy, this has been in the works for years and none of us will be let go and it is about a year and a half away. I am helping a co-worker with her resume ( it is horrible) and her KSA's- she is applying for another position and all of this is due this Thursday. I just got off the phone with her concerning her references- she wants me to decide for her about her references- wtf! They are her references, I cannot make that decision, I know I just sounded rude, but I am doing everything else, I am not making that decision. I need to learn to say no and not help anyone else unless it is the cute, smart sexy guy in my office, but he is smart, he will not need my help. Why can't I say no? They will find us a job but it is smart to be proactive and find another position first, I just thought your resume and answering KSA's were common sense and I am guessing that it is not. I really don't mind helping, I just wish she was more proactive in doing this, I wish she was more on the ball with what needs to get done. I will have this done today and then I am done with helping others and if not please slap some sense in to me. She is a really nice person, just a little needy and I know she appreciates what I am doing, she wants to take me to lunch- but, I just want her to tell me things that she should and needs to know such as her own damn references. I need to learn to start saying no, who wants to teach me? So that is what I am doing today....I know she really appreciates it, I know she needs my help and I feel bad that I was a little rude/short with her on the phone but.....back to work, venting over......and back to work....

Geeze, no....this is my new shift. Started on Friday. I actually JUST posted about this on the "Bordem" thread....

We got a crapload of new corporate accounts, and now I'm 8 to 5, instead of 7 to 4. This sucks. Bad.

It's gonna push all my mom/wife duties back an hour. As it was, I wasn't getting to actually sit down til 7:30pm, what with dinner, homework, bathtime, laundry, bedtime for the kiddos. I told Eric that he's really gonna have to start helping me out (not that he doesn't) by starting the dinner/laundry for me.....

The bright side...I have a job, and some security here, because of all the new accounts.....a paycheck is necessary to help support my family. Don't get me wrong...I'm not griping about the job....

Just the hours. It just really puts a kink in my family time. Because of the extra hour, I'm going to miss a few t-ball practices. And I'm one of those screamin' sideline Mom's, cheering for my boys on the team.
