I just dug out an old "John Denver's Greatest Hits" CD and I had forgotten just how uplifting his music has always been for me.

I think my very favorite song was "Calypso", the one dedicated to Jacques Cousteau and his explorations of the wondrous undersea world. :)

I always loved John Denver. His music was just so pleasant to listen to and he's always been on the top of my list of favorites.

I love the song about Darcy Farrow. Sad.... And the one about his Uncle Mathew........another one that gives me cold chills....

Yeah, I had forgotten about those. I just looked up the lyrics of both of those songs, and they are very moving.

I really liked "country roads". and Annie's song. Others too. "Some days are Diamonds, some day's are gold". He really was a good song writer. "Leaving on a Jet Plane". Just wish he hadn't of died so young. Saw him in concert once, GOOD show.

Loved him back in the day; even saw him in concert. Best concert I ever went to. I used to have the greatest hits on 8 track; I should get that CD now.

When I was really little, my brother and his girlfriend were fans. Somehow, I got them to take me along to a concert (can you say 3rd wheel? LOL). I still remember that concert to this day. I have always loved his music. The song I have in my head right now is Thank God I"m a Country Boy/Grandma's Feather Bed (aren't they the same song? I"m just singing about Grandma's Feather Bed). I don't know that I could pick a favorite. His music was all over, for all moods.

Thanks for the memory jaunt today, Mandy -- now I"m going to have to find me some JD!!! :)

Yeah, Zip........you have to admit that no one else could say "Far Out" quite the way ol' John Denver could.

Or as many times in a row, either. lol
