She came tearing in about 1AM (Yes, I was still up....) I immediately showed her outside and shut the laundry room door, but the damage was done... Smelled up the house big time... Must have got her in the face, cause she was acting weird...
I let her back in the family room about 3... I guess it was really aromatic in here this morning, LOL... All the windows were open, and one of the French doors with no screen...
Of course she wanted to go with Gil, and jumped in the car without being asked.. He was not pleased. He seldom yells at her, but this morning has been an exception...
There's a good wind roaring through the house today, so it's been bearable... And we both have been outside a lot.
(Zippy.... Gil's electric leaf blower/vacuum mulches and bags leaves!!!! I didn't find that out until he used a whole sack on HIS stuff... But, I am now ready to use them on my potatoes and as mulch on all the other containers when it gets hot... Happy, happy, happy....)
I'm taking a chance.... I planted a dozen okra in the heavy cardboard box my new sink came in... I have it reinforced, but expect to have to shore up the sides with concrete blocks before the crop is finished... But, hey, it should work...
The potatoes I started to fill in before I learned about the leaf thingie, I used plastic packing peanuts and dirt... I will be able to compare them... The packing peanuts do hold air, and some moisture. I have noticed that roots grow right through them...
;0))

I hope that your house airs out soon PK.
Are you going to give LBD a tomato juice bath?
Funny story, PK.
Ahh, living with wildlife!
:)
Oh yuck!! Poor LBD, I bet no one wants to get near her :(
I keep my dog on a leash when he goes out because we have a lot of coyotes and he'd just be a quick snack. I'm glad I don't have to worry about skunks, lol.

Oh my gosh.........I'm so sorry PK That is a very bad thing. :(
I hope she is okay. Sometimes when they get sprayed in the face it can really burn their eyes.

LOL Pk
Best keep some clothes pins handy lol
I never had to deal with my dog getting blasted by a skunk...and by all rights she should of been. Just got lucky
So what do you do...just let her air out? Or are you gonna bathe her in tomato juice?
Oh yeah...those leaf blowers are great for shredding up leaves. Just watch out for rocks and thick sticks...lol...we wiped out one by not watching what it was sucking up lol
I just checked my spuds and I got NADA...I even rooted around and they are not even sprouting. I planted them in the leaves weeks ago....I wonder what is the problem? Maybe its just been too cold or something. They are not rotted...still firm.
Still have not planted any veggies...yet...everything says to wait till after the last frost date.
Last fall I got an El-cheapo green house dealy...its really a clear plastic tent that is tall enough to walk in. Probably 7 foot tall...3 foot deep and 5 foot wide. It came with shelves..which are what keeps its shape...WE thought it was staked down pretty good.. Well anyway..I have been growing all sorts of flowers and some veggie and herbs under the grow light in the bathroom.
On nice days I haul all my flats out there to get some natural sun light...bring them in at night when its too cold. SO the other day the wind started to pick up a little too much...lol...I was maybe 30 seconds too late...the green house tipped and all my seedlings dumped on the gound. OH What a mess... all my little peat pellet pots are all mixed up lol.... Everything survived...but I wont have a clue what color flowers are what. WHICH was gonna be an important issue with my plans....Argh!

Well..............it had to be done sooner or later........Untold numbers of dogs have had to go to counseling because Mr. Foo Foo has made them feel cheap, dirty and used........

We have tried every remedy ever suggested, and nothing works... Gil wanted to try vinegar and baking soda, lol... I put the kibosh on that, cause I use it to clean the drains.. Ouch...
Febreze and cologne helps temporarily... She is about 12 feet away, and the windows are all oven and she is hurting my nose...
She has done this three or four times, now... Maybe she likes the scent...
;0))

Zippy we discussed poisions and decided it was too messy remember? I think our last plan was the radio in the tub, but it would never work cuz she doesn't bathe.

Yeah...I was hopeful with the swine flu...but after thinking about it...she is probably immune since she probably started the dreaded sickness
Maybe we can just beat her to death WITH the drawing board? lol

Since this has happened before and you unfortunately have experience with it; how long until the smell wears off?
lol @ poor Zippy :) :) I'll give you my points when I can. You made me laugh when you said Auntie was responsible for the swine flu :)

Thanks Pal
I sure need some points...so ALL are welcome ! lol
Well like Greg was explaining to me last night...Aunty has consumed so many nasty germs..that she could be immune to many things that would knock normal people on their asses
I caught her just the other day taking a funky fork out of the dirty dishes and using it to scoop whipped cream on her pancakes. I couldnt keep quiet and I said...DO you know you are using a dirty germy fork to eat with? NOT too mention that now the ALL the cool whip is now contaminated?
She got all huffy & defensive with me < as usual>...then lied and said she didnt get it out of the dirty dishes. lol
I stood there and watched her...besides to get a clean fork out of the drawer I would of had to have moved..I was standing right in front of the drawer lol
Ugh
lol, it may be time to switch to plastic cutlery :)
I was just telling Jules that you have to try and look at the bright side of things............at least she's not storing cutlery in her underwear......?

LOLOL!!! That would be the end of my ice cream eating days, lol :)
If you could entice her into storing the food processor in there, maybe you could plug her in and put an end to this madness???

Nope...it looks like you're stuck with Auntie. I'd suggest greasing up the floors and hoping for a broken hip but with your luck, you'd go down and then Auntie would have to take care of you.......
If that ever happens, I suggest eating with your fingers..........
Zippy

Oh !!
I think I would ask for someone to kill me first lol
Eat WITH my fingers? Hell..I would probably only be safe if I Ate my fingers lol

At least there would be pockets to hold her handy household devices, imagine if he had them hidden away in her body crevices.....
Pew! LOL!
At least you've been around the block with this and know it just takes time, fresh air and lots of smell-good stuff.
I'll never forget one dog/skunk encounter we had. At about 3:30AM, the dogs came tearing in and jumped on the bed. They were hysterical. Soon we were too. The skunk had apparently gotten cornered on our porch and it not only nailed the dogs, but all the walls as well. It smelled like burning rubber - not the smell you think of when you drive by a road-kill skunk - it almost makes you dizzy.
It might not have been so bad if I hadn't had 7AM class to give (nothing like a teacher who smells like a skunk!). After about an hour of mayhem I went back to bed and hubby washed and washed and washed the dogs. We got some great stuff from Diamond products here in town, but can't remember what it was called now. Anyway, it still took weeks to get rid of the smell. Nature's pretty clever! Ha ha!

lol!! Well one good thing......you know it wasn't a vampire skunk......
One got stuck in our vent (I couldn't tell which one or where) and it DID smell like burning rubber. The smell got stuck in my nose for weeks.........long after the smell in the house was gone. Or at least that's what Bob told me......maybe it was just a cruel joke. I must have blown my nose 50 times a day and it was blowing a skunk out everytime......
