Gold buy back...

Has JTV deicided if they are going to do this gold buy back program after all? They had a survey about it recently but that seems to be over right now. IMO it would just make this company look even more shady than they already look.

Does anyone know when JTV will be sending our refund checks for the Andesine ? What a big deal it was to return your stones. It was like they wanted any reason to return them right back to you. I did just as they wanted and had one stone returned to me. It was listed on their form, just like all the other ones I sent back. The gem was never removed from it's gem jar. I call BS !!!! Guess if they return a few gems here and there, it will save them some refund money. Gives me a real bad feeling on how they are doing business. On the web site for the refunds/ court info, it says they sent out refund forms in March. That is a lie !!!! I never received a form in the mail or by email. I almost missed the return date. It was a good thing I just happened to look at the site. JTV needs to get their act together, treat their customers better, and stop selling cheap junk. Their castings are CHEAP CRAP !!!! Poorly made prongs...... Light gold wt. Come on JTV. People will pay more , if they get better quality.

I blamed myself for being too rough, but now I feel better that someone else has had noticed it too. One of the castings that I bought was for a ring, and it was expensive. It was real, rose gold with white zircons on each side. I inserted a ruby, and one of the prongs broke off. I contacted JTV to ask them if they would repair it for me, and that I would be glad to pay a charge, and they REFUSED. They said that they didn't want to handle anything that I had tampered with. TAMPERED WITH? I told them that it was a casting. How could you use a casting without touching it? They still refused. So, I never bought another casting from them again.

JTV needs to take a long look at their new CEO and how the company has gone down hill since his blow up with Cheryl. Has anyone thought that maybe Cheryl got sick and tired of working with a bunch of DUMB hicks ???? Or on the other side of the coin, maybe some other hosts ( blonds) got a little worried that Cheryl's sales were better then hers. Cheryl maybe going into the change of life and had mood swings when she had to work with some of the JTV staff. Just a few thoughts........ I miss Cheryl very much. My buying of gem stones has dropped since they fired her. I loved her shows, she sold alot for JTV, isn't money the bottom line for JTV after all ? The news about Scott makes me sick ! If it happened here in Washington state, his ass would be sitting in jail, and the other inmates would have fun with him. Inmates don't like kid rapests. He talks about his church choir. i know alot of the things they are doing i do not agree with, but cheryl was hard for most ppl to get along with ie production, merchandising and more. she is a fun person to be around outside of work but too her way or the highway attitude with co workers. and they are not hicks they may be making some questionable decisions but they are as educated as anyone alse. whether jtv makes it or not is still to be seen but sales are only off 20% from last year at this time. Scott has too much baggage to be on the air, that can drag a company down they need to go back to the old format of more one on one shows ever so often they were so in tune with their customers then. bring back acn.

Only 20 percent? That's a pretty significant amount IMO. What JTV needs to do is get rid of the people like Heidi's husband and all the rest of the nepotism that goes on. I think in this case JTV would be better of having to answer to stockholders, right now they answer to nobody.

miss Cheryl too, tonight I hear Mandy selling with many of those funny Cheryl comments, using those same tones Cheryl made. I have nothing against Mandy; but all she knows how to do is read the script JTV gives her. When JTV had the New York Buying Special a few weeks ago; I bought a "special" sapphire/ruby offer from Scott. (though I rarely buy now) He never mentioned they were lab created. I was furious when I got them. I quickly looked at other reviews and saw others were mad too. I called JTV and to there credit they offered to send me the label to return it for a credit. It was such a waste of time for me and the last time I buy from Scott. Scott the same guy who jumped up and down on his chair saying we had to buy the red andesine because he knew "something" good about it!

I guess JTV really does not care about there reputation. The andesine lawsuit, layoffs, cutting back live show times and now sinking to these gold by back gimmicks. Maybe they don't have anything to lose. Maybe they are at the end of there rope and just want to get whatever they can before they go out of business. Maybe they realize that most of there customers don't know anything about there bad dealings, have never read this board and will continue to profit on there uneducated customers, the last one is probably on target.

If you bought a bracelet or something that you know weighs say 12 grams then figure 2/3 of it will be in pennyweights so it will be about 8 pennyweights. I just always went by the 2/3 thing until I bought a jewelry scale for under $10 on ebay. I love it & it's dead on accurate. And it gives you either grs or pen. Either way you get paid for used gold will not nearly come close to what you paid for it new. Figure, at Best, 25% of your cost. Hope this gives you a general idea.

Thanks so much for the info, Joybee! I have a conversion chart that says almost what you did. You have a great memory! I'm so jealous. My chart says 31.1 grams and 20 pennyweights per ounce. I was really confused by what the jeweler said because it seemed to me that the math would come out the same as far as the payout weather you used grams or pennyweight, but I figured that he should know and I was missing something.He was a neighbor and I didn't know him that well. I guess he was wrong.

For a company that for the last 5 years has said how valuable gold is and how hosts have said not to get rid of it(they will probably be told to shut up about that or be fired(I have a felling Angela is the next on the ax. Just IMO) gimmick that is all it can be. If I had gold I wouldn't trust JTV with a ten foot pole with it. Sad that most customers will get suckered and screwed into this.

Sorry y'all went through that Solace... But for us.. we never saw that end of her that is why we like her so much!!! Although with all that is being said I'm sure I would have lost my job with her! cuz I would have waited and pulled her up on it!... I'm a B tooooo!!!! at time so I have been told!...LOL... and I LOVE THE TITLE!!!! But the sad thing is what she did on TV they have no one left to do it!... The thought of losing Tommy as a host saddens me. I hope he'll be ok and will keep him in my prayers, but I have a feeling that he'd rather be fishing anyway so if he doesn't have to be there he probably won't come back. I wondered why Patara just up and disappeared one day....the hosts leave without ever saying goodbye. Her honesty and passion about the gems is the reason I loved her shows....they keep throwing away the best and wonder why they are going downhill. The trust is gone! I wondered what the return rate was....over half makes me wonder how they made it this long.

I am one of the few on here that didn't care much for Cheryl and saw through her bs, sadly that being said she is probably better than most of the hosts they currently have. I wonder if he will still wear red clothing and talk about that great "red color" coming from her gemstones when it clearly was reflecting through her red cloths, I think hosts should be required to wear white so this is never an issue. That was very insulting to say the least that she could bold face lie like that.

You could see that Cheryl had a devastating personality... Don't get me wrong!!! 1B2the other!!!! But when she was good she was good! The only other person out there that did what she did was Tommy and he won't be on for a while... Dawn was good only when Cheryl was on and that was like a competition... They even said that when they worked together... but now Dawn has lost it! She says nothing about the stones at all she does not give you the information that she use too! Cheryl you could actually see where the stone came from... She invited you there... And at times so did Dawn... but Dawn has lost it... Even Scott relied on Nicole to help give information on stones... There is no one left... As much as we see Shawn and the fact that he is a buyer you would think he would give more input than he does!
