What is everyone up to? going anywhere?

Obviously we're staying put, Dan will keep this temp job up as long as possible..

I will get away for a week-end to Blue Mountain at some point.

Other than that lots of gardening, I have been ripping shrubs out and moving stuff around, so I will continue to concentrate on that.

And I am on a painting wood kick, I have some very old pieces I am painting in very light greens and blues...

I have also started back exercising ( at home not a gym anymore) and hope to continue to improve my fitness and lose my third ass cheek

Dani, you want us to come visit and that's why you're asking?

If my Dad stays healthy and everything works out.....am not going to DisneyWorld, but Cuba!
The papers for my visa have been submitted and Fidel is investigating me as I type.

Yeah, pink cauliflower buds. They probably have white varieties as well.

I cannot remember the ones that I have recently purchased but I did keep the little ID cards that came with the perrenials.

I find them to be very hardy - I like their come to life in the cooler fall months when most other things have died.

Good to hear you are gettin' on the fitness wellness track D :)

I really want to go to Cancun. A lot of my friends are going on trips and it's pretty much a NO for me. I'm not even bothering to ask more than once.

Some friends are driving to Alaska and I thought about going but I don't know if I can pull off pretending to be at a friends for that long. lol

Others are going to the Smoky Mountains and I want to do that too.

We always go to Jekyll Island once or twice during the summer but I don't know about this year....we have a lot of conflicting schedules and my dad is not home so who knows.

It will mostly be classes...work...and the lake on weekends. Maybe some short road trips to Atlanta with friends before I move. Ho hum but nice. :]

I stopped in Cancun on a flight home from Cozumel once Mike...that was years ago it was more of a party place while Cozumel was quieter lay on the beach and shop..

I am not sure how old you are and don't get mad but I can't blame your parents for not being ready to let you go yet, we just went through it with Jess

Just honestly remember we don't say no to ruin your life, honest! just out of love

As much as the turquoise clear waters of the cancun beaches were pristine - the snorkeling was superior in Cozumel.

What I WANT to do? Or what I will do? LOL I'll think small and hope for bigger, but I plan on a trip down to visit my aunt in Southern California, either at her beach house in Manhattan Beach or at her other house in Palm Desert. We want to take the baby with us, if possible.

Otherwise, day trips to the coast, the mountains, including Yosemite, San Francisco; all cooler climates than this hot valley in summer.

Now, if I get to do something bigger, like an Alaskan cruise, I'll let you all know. :)

I now have two bulging discs, L4 L5, and a moderate annular fissure in S1. Hurts SO bad, Seriously debilitating. The only thing that relieves the pain is laying flat on the floor, on my back. Takes the pressure off those discs. I have had 3 cortizone epidural injections, and a medium branch block, where they go in and singe the nerve endings. OMG still hurting, threw it out on Saturday. I layed in the floor the entire holiday weekend, and then more so on Tuesday. The docs have told me to ice it every thirty minutes. I'm just tired of being in pain, ALL THE TIME....I can't deal with it,because I have a family to take care of , clean up after, cook for, etc...plus I take way too many pain pills every day, just to get me through hour by hour.

Jules, the only thing that got me through it was laying on a heating pad; do you ever do that? Mine was my lower back.

Jules
05-29-2009, 10:12 AM
The heating pad does feel good, but the docs say it inflames the muscles around the spine, so it's worse for you , in the long run.

I get through it. I cry alot, Can't do anything else, sure as hell can't off myself just to end the pain....

Jules
05-29-2009, 10:28 AM
No, don't have the sciatica, no pain in either of my legs....it's just solely centered around the base of my spine, in more detailed terms (lol)...right above my butt crack and three inches out on either side.

Haven't heard of that. But i do have an electrode machine, that has these pads that adhere to my back, and i can adjust the levels of electrodes that pulse, and the frequency...it's like a muscle stimulant....it helps, but sometimes makes the muscles tighter, when they need to be relaxed, not stimulated.

Bye Kali. Thanks for talking to me about this.

OK -- I was just reading this and didn't see this one coming. I am laughing out loud. Sorry I already gave out my points today for Scoops her her enema from the vet, or you would have received them for this! LOL

lol Mia. I read that post yesterday evening at work, thought OKKKAAAAYYY and signed off. lol

Sam, what is it anyway???

Sedum is a very hardy thick rubbery leaved succulent perrenial garden plant that survives well in terrible conditions such as drought or floods and just keeps on performing.

It does look like brocoli stalks that form a cluster of flowering buds in later summer.

I am falling for all kinds of varities, colours, creepers, etc.

Popular hens & chicks are part of the sedum family.

hahahaha -- only in my dreams :)

THanks -- we'll have a blast, I'm sure.

I remember when we went three years ago we worried at first because there was a hurricane on its way the week prior -- but we went anyway -- the hurricane went back out to sea. The first couple of days the ocean was chilly and had an undercurrent, but we really didn't care -- we were at the beach! LOL

I have more plans for summer now; got a new summer hangout. :)

I'm so excited, you'd think I bought it, but anyway, my niece and her husband just bought a huge seven bedroom, six bathroom two-story Spanish-style house with a swimming pool and the whole bit. We're going to be having a swimming/barbeque party there soon, just for the family. I intend to spend lots of time there; actually, I've threatened to move in. We all have. lol
