I recently had dug up all of my old Madonna cds from back in the day. I had forgotten how good her music from the 80's and early 90's was. From "True Blue" to " like a prayer" she was always one step ahead of everybody else.

I just love her and her music so much. I always open my heart and cherish the music she creates.

Since you're a fan you'll appreciate that my nephew went to a wedding yesterday in the Material Girl's future backyard. The current owners hosted it for one of their employees.

I asked if they played any Madonna music, but he got there late and didn't know.

Wow Mia...your Nephew is so lucky ! I"m Jealous. I would love to party in Madonnas backyard.

Have you heard Bedtime Stories? IMO, one of her best albums.

ChicagoDiva

Thats one of my favorite albums of hers. Along with "Erotica" and "like a prayer" her best work IMO.

I've always liked Madonna's 80s/90s music.

ChicagoDiva

I like all of her music, but tend to listen to the more current stuff.......but nothing can touch her 80's stuff.

I have never really gotten much out of her music. JMO, I don't think she has that great a voice and that is why she did so many outlandish things, to cover her lack of real talent.

Sorry your real Madonna fans, but that is the way it is with me.

A lot of people seem to feel that way of her Sitter. So your not alone. However for me there is a lot to madonna in which I admire. She's smart, she knows what she wants and she goes after it. Plus she has a lot of confindence in herself and I think that stands for something.

I agree that she goes after what she wants and gets it. She is a very independent woman and that I admire. I was thinking more of her music. Could be that it is a generational thing.

Yeah it could be a generational thing, for sure. Madonna isn't for everybody.

i'm not a big fan of her's but my daughters sure the heck were at one time my lands that's all i heard them play.my one used to try and dress like her.

ChicagoDiva

I remember my sister use to dress like Madonna back in the 80's.

Back in the day she had every girl and gay boy in the world worshiping her. Still does actually, as the 80's look is making a come back.

You can always tell whenever you see a new female pop star she wants to be Madonna. The way they mock her in their videos and the majority of their music sounds like updated versions of her 80's stuff.

I have to say, Early Madonna KICKS modern Madonna's ass. Totally my opinion.

ChicagoDiva
06-01-2009, 05:18 AM
I think your right Jules. She had so much spunk back then, now shes a tired old ho.

I think all 80's music kicks todays music ass !

Jules
06-01-2009, 05:34 AM
LOL A tired old ho....so funny....

I mean, her new music is good, don't get me wrong, but she can't top the 80's and 90's.

And all of her songs are incredible from back then. I dont think there is a single one that I dont like, or know all the words to.

Jules
06-01-2009, 05:34 AM
I mean...I DO know all the words to. Every single one of them.

ChicagoDiva
06-01-2009, 06:48 AM
So do I Jules, don't feel bad at all. I can sing them all word for word. lol

My all time favorite would have to be "Like a prayer" though. Remember that one?

Jules
06-01-2009, 07:04 AM
When you call my name
It's like a little prayer
I'm down on my knees
I wanna take you there

In the midnight hour
I can feel your power
Just like a prayer
You know I'll take you there...

I hear your voice
It's like an angel sighing
I have no choice, I hear your voice

I close my eyes
Oh God, I think Im falling
Out of the sky
I close my eyes
Heaven Help Me

I love Madge! :-)

My fave CD of hers is "Ray of light", followed by her newest, "Hard Candy". I like the dancier stuff. The bubblegum stuff from the 80's just aint my thing anymore. Probably what I'll be saying in 20 years about the current Lady GaGa stuff!

I do really like Bed time Stories too!

I went to her concert back in the day. I really, really liked her early music. I have some great memories of dancing in the clubs to Holiday & Vogue. Of course, I was much younger then. Now, I can't even name one of her current songs.
