Here is one reason I hate these Audience vote participation shows. She deserved to win, she should have won!!!! Anyone with any brains can see and hear the talent that this woman has. I hope her little run-in with the police and media didn't ruin her chances. They push people until the breaking point and then wonder why they "lose it".
Anyone should have been able to see that she wasn't ready for the fame that comes with these things, and they should have been kind enough to give her a break and let her turn into a butterfly a little at a time.
In my opinion, she is a beautiful person. She is just herself with a glorious voice. I wish people could look beyond the package and see the beauty that God has placed within this woman. She is a treasure that was given to this world.

Simon Cowell thought the winning dance troupe DIVERSITY were 10/10 but he is in the works with signing up SUBO to his record label.
Doesn't want to let a talent like hers get away.
America loves her and wants more from her !
After the competition, the media were truly focused on SUBO ( I now remember the nickname they gave her RAMBOYLE) and when they finally get around to the winners - the group were totally surprised they won !
Not expecting it at all !!

SUBO rushed to hospital.
Perhaps the limelight may have been to much ?
Possibly suffering a nervous/exhaustion meltdown.

Sam, I read that today also. I just hope that the world isn't robbed of a beautiful voice because the press knocks her down before she can even get up. I wouldn't blame her for just going home and singing only in church like she did before.
Why does it matter so much to the media what she looks like?? Why does it matter what anyone looks like. God made us what we are and like the old saying goes "God don't make no junk"
Sometimes people just make me sick at my stomach with their lofty ideas of what someone else should be.!!! Makes one wonder what they see in their own mirror in the morning.

I love her voice. The first time I heard her sing, I cried...Oh it was breathtaking.

Loved your post, NYS! I agree whole-heartedly! It's one thing to give a makeover to someone who asks for it (like the ones given by the RR Show), or one of their kids or friends ask for them, I thoroughly enjoy those bc the recipient is really happy and excited with the results. But to insist someone needs a total makeover bc they don't fit the image the press and society expect of them, well that just "obscene" (for lack of a better word right now). Susan Boyle was blessed with a beautiful voice and that she shared it with the world is a gift---a beautiful and precious gift that we should all be thankful for and in awe of.
I cried too when I heard her Jules, esp after the way Simon and the other judges treated her like a joke. She sure shut them up, didn't she? I hope she doesn't go into hiding now and we never get to hear that stunning voice again.

Sitter, I agree (about voting in shows). Gilles should have won DWTS too IMO.
I think they should limit votes to one per phone line. I don't know how this "talent" show that Boyles was on, but I'm sure people get more than one vote.
I wonder, would the shows be as successful if we didn't get a vote? I think they would be. I know many people who watch American Idol/DWTS ... but never vote.

I love Susan Boyle.
I feel so bad for her -- her life changed over night.
All the hounding, the good and bad press -- all the stress.
I'd crack under the pressure too. Poor thing....

The UK press/media are really bad asses !
They reported that she completely lost it.
Running up & down the aisles. Screaming and becoming an emotional basket case.
Unruly in the hotel.
Judges Piers & the blonde girl denied that report.
They did say she was not sleeping well (no surprise there) & so much pressure on her.

They love to build them up, then tear them down, don't they?
I think she'll do much better 'across the pond'...we're mean, but I'm not sure we're THAT mean...
Anyway, she has a HUGE loyal following here in the US...
What are the Canadians saying Sam?

Our rags are reporting.
She was graceful in her defeat.
She was volontarily taken away to get some quiet peace, sleep, nutrition & relaxation.
Much deserved.

I just read a blog from Meredith Viera, who was in the audience both when she sang the final time, along with when the winner was announced. She said she was very gracious to Diversity, but also looked a little relieved.
Here's her words: "She came in second to Diversity and was extremely gracious in defeat, saying the better act had won. And for the first time all evening, she looked relaxed...even relieved."
