I saw an ad yesterday on gems tv advertising tim temple. It was a picture in the background on the set and i only watched the channel for a brief time, but it was his picture. (actually looked like the same pic that jtv used to advertise his show)

I only got the audio. I am amazed that this gemstv is able to survive. I never though I'd say it but there format is even worse than JTV. I am sorry to see a person like Tim have to take his stuff to a cheesy network like gemstv. I can't see serious watch people buying stuff from that network.

I have to agree, I've been keeping up with Tim's shows on GemsTV. It's really unfortunate that the time constrictions of the reverse auction that GemsTv uses, doesn't give Tim much of a chance to elaborate on the design, integrity, uniqueness of each watch and movement etc... Plus,I'm sure I'm not the only one who misses Amber, lol. Watched some of the Watch Show Tuesday night on JTV, nice to see Yossi and Avi.

I guess Tim didn't survive JTV because he likes to do his own thing. JTV wants robots that stick with the company sales pitch, or people that are just come across as idiots on air. I am sure the host are good people, for the most part, but the execs seem to want clowns on the air. I also suspect if you don't pass the Wendy and Heidi prima donna test you are pretty much toast.

I saw something on MSN that said that if you wear a watch you are showing your age because everyone uses their PDA or their cell phones for the time

Makes sense, but I broke the watch wearing habit many years ago because I simply hated tethering an itchy bracelet to my wrist. I use neither cell phone nor PDA today, and yet I've never been late to work, or to an appointment. However, I agree that Tim Temple would do better on his own. I mean, I realize start up costs are a major factor, but I think a watch network would support itself as well as any dedicated to jewelry, cutlery, coins, or even sports memorabilia.

they are able to survive - and in fact have a european channel - because they are tied to thaigem.com which has been around for quite a while. thaigem unlike jtv has been able to change with the changes in the economy. they could close the us arm of the company and they'd still be in business.jtv doesn't have the same flexibility

Tim's back with ShopNBC now. Their format allows him to use his professional knowledge and ability to educate people about the timepiece they want to buy. I wish him the best!
