Well,, I don't know what I'm going to do!!!! My stomach was acting up today,.so I went to ASK.COM and found out that drinking COFFEE is like taking EXLAX!!! It's a stimulant,so it makes everything tingle, which include's your bowels...But,I love coffee.but I don't like going to the bathroom 3 or 4 times a day..And, I read Coke is rough on your stomach lining...This mean's nothing but a diet of water? ...I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't......Your comments are welcome...

Any number of things could be causing your problem...from a stomach bug to stress. If this is something new, just give your tummy a rest and drink tea for a day or two. If it continues I would ask a doctor because it seems like Coffee and Coke and you have gotten along just fine until now so I don't think you need to worry about being doomed to a life with water.Millions of people drink coffee and Coke all the time without any trouble so don't believe everything you read online and just try to stay calm....I hope you feel better soon ((((((HUG))))))

read an article in the local newspaper dr donahue and i have the same symptoms as you.he memtioned irritable bowel syndrome. he suggested to take pepermint oil or a fiber drink. i chose the fiber drink. it also comes in pill form. it worked for me. i agree it could be stress causing it .good luck.

Or you could try drinking cranberry juice. It's very cleansing.

Coffee is a stimulant as well as acidic, coke is very acidic! You may be eroding the lining of your stomach is you drink these in excess and on an empty stomach. If you suddenly develop symptoms of frequent bowel movements is sounds like a bug. You can help IBS with real yogurt with active cultures. I make sure to eat Greek yogurt with some fresh fruit and equal amounts of any fiber one cereal. You can add honey or another sweetener of you ave a heavy sweet tooth. The natural fiber and cultures help get your intestinal lining back into ins natural state. It may take some time but it has helped me and many others I know. It may not be for everyone but I do not know anyone who it has not helped that tried it. We sometime eat too much processed food or not enough fiber in our diets. I know someone came up with a pill that will do the same thing as yogurt cultures , don't know if it works , something like Ali but not the diet pill. Good luck!

I hope you're feeling better today DJ. If you can, try to stop drinking coffee and coke, for a while anyway.

There is a new Greek yogurt the brand name is Chobani, it is made with 5 different cultures and has probiotics too. It is thick, creamy and luscious.

It is made in Berlin NY, I don't know if it is available everywhere.

Metamucil helps with diarheea and constipation. And, you can get it in pill form. I started having lots of burning awhile back and I had been hitting the tomato juice hard. While tomatoes are good antioxidents and good for you, the acid is not. Tea is drying to the bronchial tubes and sometimes hard on the kidneys. I have heard lemonade is good for you but there again, lemons are acidic aren't they? Coke is hard on the colon. non colored pops are recommended instead. Something like Sprite, etc.....Milk is also hard on the colon. You could have the beginnings of some diverticuli or pockets which is common in aging. They can become inflamed and cause stomach distress.
