I am so excited. I got discharged from formal Physical Therapy today. I still have to do a whole routine of exercises at home, twice a day, every day, for three more weeks, then once a day until I reach the six month mark.

I am walking really great. No pain there at all. I can even do stairs. I do still have some pain if I twist my leg or knee at all and they told me that will happen for a while yet, that total healing usually doesn't happen until about the 6 month mark. Also I have to be careful of how I sit in a chair or I will get a shot of pain right down to my toes. The PT said that is because the nerves that were cut are healing and reacting to stimulation.

Now that I am almost 3 months out, I would suggest the surgery for anyone that has the kind of pain that I did. For about the first 3 weeks to a month I wasn't so sure, but it has all been worth it.

I was told that "for your age" I am doing very well and am actually about 3 weeks ahead of where they expected me to be at this time. Just love that "for your age" thing. LOL

That is so great, Sitter! I can't believe it's been 3 months already (although I'm sure you can!).

I'm glad you think it was all worth it at this point.

Keep up the great work! :)

That's great news Sitter! I know knee rehab can be very intense--you're a trooper. I'm so glad that your knee is now virtually pain-free. Keep up the good work! :)

Congratulations Sitter!

You must have worked very hard to get to this point in your recovery so soon.

So very happy that you are feeling much better now.

Sounds as though you are doing very well "for anyone's age".

;)

what kind of surgury was it sitter?

Bill, I had a total knee replacement on the right on July 13. For about the first 3 weeks after surgery I thought I had made a terrible mistake in doing it, but now I would recommend it to anyone. Rehab is hard work and somewhat painful but if you keep at it you will get good results. thanks for asking.

Crap!!

Did I mention that I've been on my best behavior since you've been recovering???? SOME people have been running around, cussing and being crude. I won't mention any names because I'm not like that Sitter *coughdaniandzippycough* but I just thought I'd mention it :)

And did I also mention that I think you're the best thing since jello pudding pops??
