Baywatch' star David Hasselhoff was admitted to hospital Sunday after drinking heavily at home. TMZ reports that 17-year-old Hayley Hasselhoff called her mother Pamela for help, and an ambulance was used to retrieve Hasselhoff from his Encino home.
His daughter Hayley famously filmed him falling-over drunk and eating from a plate on the floor in 2007, putting the footage on the Internet in an effort to shame him into changing his ways.
One of Pamela's friends is thought to have called paramedics, who turned up at the house and took him to hospital. He is thought to have been released that night.

Years ago, he was on the Young and the Restless, playing a character named "Snapper" of all things.............lol.................anyhow, you could tell he was SO vain back then.....I have disliked him for years, so I choose not to watch him.
That dispay of him drunk on the floor eating a hamburger was disgusting.

Agree, Monica.
My daughter's 5th birthday was Friday. He didn't call. Didn't come by. Has no idea of the hurt she felt, when she asked Daddy and I where her Papa was...at her party yesterday, she said, "We can't start yet. Papa isn't here...."
Oh, bless her heart. I had to hug her and go outside for a minute to compose myself. She doesn't understand. And we hate lying to her about it. But she's too young to know the truth. It's a hard situation all around.

The doctor has already told him he has an infection in his liver and pancreas. His thoughts on that? He's "already past the point of getting better, so why not just keep drinking til he dies."
It's tragic. At this point, we are just waiting for The Call to come, letting us know he's passed. :*(

I am sorry Jules, it is hard, and I would not be surprised if your daughter already knows, we knew at a very young age. It is tragic, but you cannot help someone who does not want it or feel like they need it. It will be two years this Halloween since my father passed away, he died at home while he was sleeping. We were worried about our mom, but she is doing really good, traveling, getting out and about...things have a way of working out.

egad....he is going to jury duty today.
9-21-09 PEOPLE
David Hasselhoff is doing well after a 911 call and a trip to the hospital Sunday.
"David's fine and he's on his way to jury duty today," his lawyer Melvin Goldmsan tells PEOPLE.
Los Angeles City Fire department spokesman Devin Gales confirmed they were called to Hasselhoff's Encino, Calif. home Sunday afternoon.
"We were summoned there for an unspecified request for medical aid," Gales said. "At least one person at that residence was transported to a local hospital."
TMZ.com reported that 911 was called because Hasselhoff's daughter became alarmed that he was drinking to excess.
A recovering alcoholic, Hasselhoff, 57, was briefly hospitalized four months ago after a relapse.

I am with you Jules. My father-in-law was one of the nicest men you could ever know, but he was hardly ever sober. He always held down a job and never caroused in bars, did all his drinking at home, but he was a Class A alcoholic. Was he disgusting - no. He was a man with a problem that he couldn't beat. Think along the lines of overweight people (like me) or smokers or pill addicts, any vice that anyone has.
His kids begged him, more than once his wife threatened to leave him and as hard as he tried he could not stay out of the wine. Finally, everyone accepted it for what it was - an addiction-and learned to live around it. That is why my husband will not touch a drop of alcohol of any kind. He is afraid that he might like it too much also and won't take the chance.

That's how my husband is, too, Sitter. He will not touch the stuff. Every once in a while, he will drink a beer, but I can't tell you the last time I saw him drink more than one. He says his father shows him everyday what he (Hubby) doesn't want to be....
Hubby is smart about it. He knows that alcoholism runs in the family, and is doing what he can to prevent it from happening to him. He said it destroyed his parent's marriage, and him and his brother and sister's image of their father. Hubby said it would destroy him if his kids weren't proud of him. He doesnt' want to repeat the cycle. He said he can't remember ever being proud of his dad, and that just breaks my heart. That being said, he won't ever be an alcoholic. Which I am most greatful for. My first husband was a terrible alcoholic and it destroyed our marriage.....that and plenty of other things.

We WERE meant to be together. I feel it in my heart, and know it in my soul. We need each other, and not in a desperate way, it's hard to explain. I know that he is a gift from God. And what's better...he knows that about me as well. He is my very best friend.
Have you ever read the story about us? I posted it some time back, I think last year. He lived next door to me (I am The Girl Next Door). We were friends for 6 years....and I always had a secret crush on him. We were both involved with other people at the time....so we never pursued each other. Then we were both available and decided to reveal our "Crushes" on each other. We've been together ever since.
My mother was showing me pictures of him and I this morning when I dropped my daughter off at her house. She said, "Erin....look at your eyes....your eyes are smiling."

Sad situation for everyone....glad you are not with your ex anymore and that you found someone that treats you the way you should be treated :)

I don't watch soaps, but the other day I was turning the channel & saw a soap with the character Tad Martin. I nearly fainted. The last time I saw him, he was playing a college kid on the soap & now he has gray hair.

Hmmmmm, he and Mischa Barton....she went to the psych ward for a dry socket (tooth) and the meds she had to take for that. Must be special drugs that affect celebrities in ways that make them look like they are drunk, need ambulances, rehab and psychiatric care.
Normally I give the benefit of the doubt, but he has used that one before....the time he wet his pants at the airport...it was medication for some ailment.

Didn't David Hassellhoff get custody of his daughters during the divorce? His wife must REALLY be messed up if he got custody instead of her, when he obviously has a drinking problem.

I have seen people who were really really really drunk and they have never had the ambulance called not they they would have protested or been aware if one had been.
Is he just a "normal" really really drunk guy or is there some over the top reason that his daughter keeps calling? I am sure when she hasn't been there he has gotten just as drunk and passed out and woke up and carried on as usual (jury duty or what have you). Is she over reacting or is there a reason other than him being stinkin' on his a** drunk that she is calling?
He of course should try and not get totally plastered while his daughter is there since it obviously scares her.

I agree of course that she had his best interest at heart. I was just saying that I have seen worse and was curious if she was overreacting because he is her daddy and was scared and probably secretly hopes that this time he will wise up and quit.
He needs to at the very least wise up and not allow her to see him in that way but a lot of daddys (and mommys) do not wise up. :(

I agree with you biff on the pain part of it...but you call the dentist....it's so distinct that you know something is wrong... and it's not just the leftover aching after an extraction that you might take one pain pill for. I can say from over 20 years of experience in a dental environment....17 of which at a University...no one ever ended up in the psych ward from the effects of a dry socket. Even the poorest most illiterate people knew enough what steps to take to take care of it once it occurred. They send you home with a whole sheet of instructions, and what to expect, etc.

What is telling to me is that if the adverse reaction to a prescribed drug was actually the real cause....why isn't that the initial story? Of course that would be what you would want to get out in the press if it were the true case. Why isn't a statement issued asap?
Why is there always some other rehab issue, or drinking or recreational drug cause, that all the news outlets get on their own....then after a day or two...they come up with the publicist concocted "real" reason?
