either QVC or HSN? They have so many of them, but I am afraid to try anything on a shopping channel, especially without recommendations. I would love to hear your opinions on the different ones.

Sorry sunshin**a, I can't be of any help here. What a great topic. Hopefully you'll get some great recommendations about 1 product, then we'll all know. I tried one from Bath & Body Works last summer, applied lightly and after each shave it was ok. I just always felt like I looked like I was using a self-tanner. This year they have a bronzer they are recommending but I haven't bought anything for this summer yet.

I heard that Estee Lauder makes a great self-tanner.I tried the Califoria tanning product that QVC sells. I still didn't like the color. It wasn't exactly orange, but I didn't feel it was natural. What about that blonde on HSN. Everyone seems to rave about her tanning product. My problem is they all seem to have a nasty smell.

Sunshine, I started tanning with reflectors,so that tells you how much I like the tan look. Of course I do not use reflectors, but what I highly endorse is Clarins self tannerr. It is absolutely the best most natural tan you could wish for. It's sold in better dept stores and they will give you a sample to try. It has differant levels of tanning depending on your skin. No orange faces any more! They even make one just for your face. I hope you get to try it I know you will love it. I don't work for Clarins and by telling you I used reflectors you probably know my age!!!!!! HAPPY TANNING

I tried Toma's Tan last summer and like it. The tan looks natural.

Thank you ladies, for all your great suggestions! I think I will try them all, and see what works best. What is very important to me, is not only a natural no-streak tan, but also a cream that can be applied to hands and feet as well. I look pretty silly, when my arms and legs are tan, but my hands and feet are totally pale.;) There has been several deaths by cancer in my family, and I am not taking any chances with either the sun or tanning beds.

Sunshine, you are very smart to stay out of the sun. There is now a process that some spa's and beauty salons offer where you get a tan "sprayed" on. It is just a tad more than a tanning bed session would be and it lasts for about two weeks. You go in every 10**4 days for "a touch up". It is very popular here in my area. I'm going to try it. In fact, I'm an esthetician (skin speSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMt) and I will be learning how to do this in two weeks. The salon I work in will be offering it and I will be paintin' the town brown!! LOL! I just found out about all this yesterday.

Some of the spas where I live apply sunless tanners for you. I don't have the patience to do it myself so I might opt for that if it's not too expensive. The sun is really damaging. I have a friend who is an avid skiier and her skin has suffered from the sun reflecting off the snow and the winds really beat her face particularly around the eyes.

My advice... find out which one Lisa Robertson uses and don't use that one. Her tan looks orange and it looks especailly dumb on her hand area.
