...on QVC?
I would say HIGH-END. They say it all the time! " This looks sooo high-end",
" High-end people, wear my makeup"
And so on..
It's so funny to listen to. They really mention it a lot, don't you all think?

My vote is for AMAZING. We all know Lisa R uses it a lot but all of them say "This is an AMAZING value".
<bremma>
04-04-2002, 12:17 PM
I think that the most used word would have to be LIMITED!!!! Everything on there is limited. This item is very limited. They say it ALL the time! LOL!
<Catsmeow>
04-04-2002, 01:10 PM
I agree....LIMITED. Hear that all the time now.
<shazzam>
04-04-2002, 01:23 PM
The word "really", pronounced "reeeely", as in "reeeely, reeeely, reeeely amazing", or "reeeeely, reeeeely limited" or from a "reeeeeely, reeeeeely high end store".
<MTS>

When Diane Young is on, the most commonly used word is "awesome", All her products are "awesome", her customers are "awesome", your skin will look "awsome" after you use her products.
<Terry2>
04-04-2002, 01:48 PM
DYING! VERY LIMITED!
<Trixie>
04-04-2002, 03:37 PM
SIGNATURE PIECE. How many "signature pieces" can you own, anyway! And they all say the same thing: ****** can be your "signature piece." Gimmeabreak!
<terry>
04-04-2002, 04:11 PM
BYE BYE BYE BYE AND A BYE BYE. LISA R.IS always saying BYE.
<footloose>
04-04-2002, 04:38 PM
I vote for "YOU". Afterall they have to tell "you" what to buy, or do with the product. And without us they wouldn't have any business!
<Kitty>
04-04-2002, 05:08 PM
It might not be the most overused but the one that bugs me is "without a doubt."
Pat James-Dimentri always used it then Lisa Mason and I've heard MaryBeth Roe use it too. I can't stand it for some reason.

"AND YOUR GOOD TO GO"
<cissy>
04-04-2002, 06:11 PM
When they are talking jewelry, the following statement "Wear this with a crisp white blouse, khaki pants and strappy sandals and you are good to go" "Just like those women that shop at the high end stores, you know, those ones on Madison Avenue". Gee, who do I sound like?
<Ski Girl>
04-04-2002, 06:26 PM
"Good For You"....(MBR) and "Congratulations" (They say it like you won the lottery NOT like you just "forked over $$$" to buy their stuff. "CONGRATULATIONS - They ALL say that and they all say it often...I think it's mandated in "QVC 101"!
<bremma>
04-04-2002, 06:33 PM
O my gosh. I totally forgot about that one! they do congratulate everyone on spedning money. What IS the deal with that? Why do they congratulate everyone on spending money? You don't get that at a retail store, "Oh, by the way, have a nice day and congratulations!!!" LOL!
<Ski Girl>
04-04-2002, 06:39 PM
"Congratulations"... ....I think it's attempt to make you feel "special"..after all, "you deserve to treat yourself".....It must be QVCE (E for Etiquette). At next birthday party/Christmas, I guess we should "congratulate" recipient after the opening of each gift....THAT was part of PSYC 101!!!
<bremma>
04-04-2002, 06:43 PM
LOL!
<Ski Girl>
04-04-2002, 06:48 PM

I just reeeelly LOVE it, you will just LOVE it, if you don't LOVE it send it back! LOVE LOVE LOVE.....
<Ski Girl>
04-05-2002, 05:10 AM
PHENOMENAL!!! Most of Lisa R.'s products are PHENOMENAL - You're right about sending back if you don't LOVE...they left out the part about postage being so ridiculous, you might as well keep it and sell at a garage sale if you don't like!
<YaBaby>
04-05-2002, 07:44 AM
how 'bout "please use automated ordering" eck....
talking about pet peeves, mine is how they interrupt EVERY guest to say something has sold out. Like we can't see the sign?
<Queenie>
04-05-2002, 09:02 AM
Ski Girl, you are so right!! I have kept some items and gave them to my daughters or someone because that postage is insane!
<annie>
04-05-2002, 09:10 AM
And don't forget the word "stack". Go ahead -- get two or three of them and "stack" 'em.
<chatty cat>
04-05-2002, 09:31 AM
I always get my postage returned. Because I can think of a way to send it back and label it defective. The sizing was incorrect. The chain was supposed to be 18 inches but was 18 and a quarter. ect. You may have to put your thinking cap on but you can always come up with a legitimate reason for returning something and making the charge it was defective. This isn't a word that gets over done but is a phase. Sold in the last 2 3 4 times it was on. What the heck do I care about that?
<barbm>
04-05-2002, 09:33 AM
This was a great topic. So much fun reading all the posts. As soon as you read one, I say to myself, "Oh yeah, they do say that a lot".
<bremma>
04-05-2002, 10:00 AM
You're right, Chatty. I love it when they say, "This sold out the last 5 times it was on, the last time was back in January." I, personally, could care less when the last time it was on and certainly it doesn't encourage me to buy it if I know that it has sold out 5 times. Do they think that we are completely ignorant???
<Ski Girl>
04-05-2002, 10:30 AM

"We don't make medical claims. Check with your doctor"!!! (Translation: We know you've been sitting sedintary and sitting on your butt for 35 years and now you weigh 450 pounds and "YES, we are working on 5X and our buyers are listening"). ALWAYs after somebody calls and says they jumped on Pilates or XL Glider and lost 75 pounds in 2 days!!!

04-06-2002, 01:20 PM
How about, "ABSOLUTELY" that word is way over used. All of these hosts sound the same, irritating!!!!!!
<Catsmeow>
04-07-2002, 12:03 PM
Everything is so true with the above posts but how did we miss this gem........"It's available on 2 easy pays for JUST thirty dollars this month and next. That's JUST one dollar a day for this month and next. You can't even buy a cup of coffee for that!!!" or you hear, "You can't even take you family to the movies for that kind of money." I also like when they present the TSV at midnight and say, "This will NEVER last the day!!!" and they're still trying to get rid of it at 11:45 PM!!!!!
<Ski Girl>
04-07-2002, 01:22 PM
Good one Catsmeow! When they say, "it won't last the day", I always think it's because the thing will break! We learned in Real Estate 101, NEVER EVER say, "this house won't last long"!
<DeeDee>
04-07-2002, 06:02 PM
i think i have some winners here.........
caller:..." will you say hello to my son,mike and my mom Sally?"

caller...."hi Minnie,hi Susan"
<bremma>
04-07-2002, 08:22 PM
Dee dee, I am DYING!!!!! That is so funny. I always think how stupid they sounds when they want to say hi on air to someone who is sitting right beside them. That has got to win this prize of what is the most stupid thing that a host/caller will do. BLue ribbon goes to you, IMO!!!
<thinking>
04-07-2002, 08:31 PM
"Are you a Quacker?"........... ..

<annie>
04-08-2002, 09:16 AM
Catsmeow, I'm with you on that "dollar a day" thing. I think Lisa Mason started it (she's always giving examples too..."can't buy a cup of coffee", "can't ride the bus", "buy a hamburger") and Lisa R. started in on it too. Now everybody's doing it!!! And let's not forget the word "layer". You can wear this alone, or layer it with blah, blah blah...
<Ski Girl>
04-08-2002, 06:52 PM
This sold out when it was last presented on February 4. (Why is the date important????) We don't know when we'll be able to get more back in inventory,
<or....>
04-08-2002, 08:47 PM
"this is the last day at the introductory price.....the price will be going up at midnight"!!! i.e. we like to raise our prices......Have you ever heard of a department store RAISING the price??????
<how bout>
04-10-2002, 08:26 PM
To Any skincare "hawker"
caller....."I love your stuff, I've been using it for 2 weeks now....I'm 65, but everybody thinks I'm 30!!!!"
<Kitty>
04-13-2002, 04:38 PM
Lisa Mason always tells us how many of a certain item have been "requested."
I guess that sounds more gentile than purchased or ordered - like it would be tacky to admit that we're actually buying this stuff lol.
<DixieChik>
04-15-2002, 07:55 PM
Mary Beth Roe always says, " Oh Good." ( with about 3 syllables for the good.) You could say, "my dog just died, " and she's say.."Oh good..now you don't have to vacuum dog hair...giggle, giggle."
<Aubrey>
04-16-2002, 09:33 PM
"Fabulous" and it's "the bomb"
