Department. However at age 29
I was denied the job as a career firefighter with the City of Baltimore Fire Department
( Montel's Father is Chief of the Department). Under the Americans with Disabilities
act it
states that I can not be discriminated against. So how can they do this I was given a
"Right to Sue" Letter from the EEOC of Baltimore which gave me 90 days to file suite
but since I could not come up with the $48,000.00 I had
to let the 90 days run out.
This is so unfair all I wanted was the job no money just a job that really does not pay
that well, but when its in
your blood and has been a dream all you life and since I have spent the last 7 years
fighting for my rights
something like this is devastating when I get 0 help from any one. I risk my life for free
and I love it, but its not the
same as a career. I want it yes but most important I deserve it.
