Today's TSV was a pair of 1/4 KT diamond solitaire earrings. Has anyone ever bought diamonds (Not diamonique) from QVC?
I think that would be a risky purchase to make, without seeing them in person. Last month I purchased an updated wedding set at a local jewelry store , at my husband's insistence. I couldn't imagine buying a precious stone like a diamond, without inspecting and re - inspecting it for size, cut, clarity and color.
Yes, QVC has a money back, 30 day guarantee, but with my luck I would get the very included diamond or the one with the loose prong. This is why I have always returned everything I ever order from QVC, because I always ended up with the bracelet with the loose clasp, the gold necklace with the ding in it, the sweater with the threads unraveling, etc. An item of this kind should be inspected by the buyer, rather then having the box picked off the shelf by the warehouse picker.
Any thought?

Picky shopper: I have purchased the round & baguette 3/4 carat ring. I love it...and for almost $400.00 Iam quite pleased. When I took it to my jeweler, she said she thought it would have been sold for well over $1,500.00. I was surprised, and at christmas QVC had some little 1/3 carat earrings, with some crystals (I think that was the stone) around the edges to form a flower, at the time on special $126.00. I was really quite pleased with those also, and surprised again....I had just purchased some 1/3 solitare's for my daugther for xmas, and paid $296.00. OUCH! So I ordered the tsv, and will return them if they are not as clear as I would like....my daugther's earrings were not as clear as the stones I got from QVC. This is just my opinion, or maybe I have just been lucky so far. One more thing, I also got the sapphire baguette & diamond band ring, my daugther loves it, as for me, the stones are good, Iam just not sure it is my style.....sorry that's all I can tell you. I would have to say purchasing from a known jeweler is probably safer, but you take your chances no matter what you buy on line, I have had problems with QVC's jewerly also.

Frenchi, It sounds like you had good luck with QVC diamonds and QVC in general. Like I said, everything I ever bought had to go right back. Their diamond jewelry does look very pretty. I love the Promise Diamond show, but they way way too pricey for me to even consider!

Picky Shopper: Iam sorry you have had to return all the jewerly you got from QVC. I have returned alot also. I get a kick out of the little paper that says inspected by quality control....well if that's the case, they need someone to do quality control over quality control. And because of the problems I have had, now Iam very picky....and don't even think twice to send it back. I wish you better luck in the future should you order anything again.

I've only had problems with anything that had a clasp. I almost lost a bracelet but thanklfully someone at work spotted it and returned it to me. I've been lucky with earrings and rings in both silver and gold (including 18K).

I wonder why QVC's buyers and manufacturers refuse to design better clasps for their bracelets? It seems anything that isn't a large lobster claw clasp is very risky. I know when I shop for bracelets locally, I always undo and redo the clasp several times, to make sure the parts aren't loose or weak. Makes you wonder about the quality assurance department they brag about. They should hire me! I'd really work the jewelry over, just to be sure it lasts!
