I have a hard time buying "on faith". Can anyone tell me what these candles actually smell like? They do look real, but "smelling" is believing!

I purchased her TSV back in November or December. Can't remember exactly when it was. Anyway it was the pie rack with the cherry pie pieces, the cinnamon candle, and two other candles but I can't remember what the scents were. The cherry candles melted and oozed down the sides making a bad mess, I don't think each piece burned more than 2 hours. The pie and the other candles made a pretty presentation in the pie rack but they had absolutely no smell when they burned. The cinnamon candle had no scent at all even before I burned it. I ended up sending it all back.

As a devoted candle fan, I have a hard time believing the raves about most candles sold on QVC. The last thing I want is a perfumed candle that loses its scent or leaves me smelling only the wick smoke! I've had good luck with Yankee Candles, so I'm sticking with them.

Trixie....I also LOVE Yankee Candles!!! I'm ashamed to admit how many I have in my house. My current favorites are Wild Cherry, Cookies and Cream, Pineapple Paradise and Vineyard. I should own stock in the company by now. LOL

Catsmeow, Cookies and Cream is one of my favorites! I purchased one of the small jars and keep it on my desk at work to sniff throughout the day (not allowed to light 'em there for obvious reasons). I swear some of those fragrances are good enough to eat! They also make great gifts along with the specialized toppers they sell. I picked up a cute one with an apple tree/barrel/leaves/barn (amazing how much they can fit into these detailed figurines LOL) scene this fall for a friend and she loved it.

Cookies and Cream is so popular in my neck of the woods that it's very hard to find. They fly off the store shelves!! I receive the YC catalog, they have such pretty things. It seems like they came out with a lot of new scents recently.

Are the Valerie Parr Hill candles equal to Yankee candles?

I have both and I think Yankee's are far superior! Also by the time you get done with shipping and taxes Yankee's are cheaper if purchased in a store.

Try Lang candles too, I used to be a yankee devotee but switched to Lang. They smell better and their jars are a lot more attractive. This is their website
***********lang***** company/langcandles. shtml They also have a catalog and you can call the number on their website to get their catalog.

I just got the 16 piece snowman candle set by Lori Griener and I am so very dissappointed in it. The quality of the candles are cheap. It cost $44.00 plus s/h and taxes. The melting candle pieces looked like something you would find in the dollar store. The large candle which looks like one of the cake candles is actually just a holder for 3 tea lights!!! I will never buy anything else of Lori's. She always says that she pays attention to detail, well, if this is her idea of details, she needs to go back to the drawing board!!!! I would not recommend ANY of her products, especially candles!
