I was pissed that judge Elder said the Magic Spoiler was wrong for doing the Fox Special: Magic Secrets Revealed. Who hasn't asked himself "how do they do that?" If you don't want to watch, you don't have to watch. Fox was just giving people who don't have years upon years to study magic an opportunity to learn something.
And it's stupid to think that people won't want to see magic anymore. Understand that there are really only 20 stories a writer can tell in a screenplay, but have you only ever gone to see 20 movies? The real magic is in how you tell the story or how you present the trick. Dress it up in a different way, and I'll bet you people will still want to see it.
And I think what really stuck was that he went off on this Mystery magician, Valentino, for essentially robbing other magicians of jobs. Hello, Survivors!!! They've stolen jobs from trained actors who are barely scraping by. But would Elder judge them to be wrong? I seriously doubt it. Even worse, he's a fucking radio host... Hello! did he ever think to look in the mirror and think, 'oh, yeah, I'm screwing over some other judge who's actually devoted his life to the law just for a couple extra bucks.' Hell no. I watch the show because there's nothing else on while i'm working, but I think I'm going to go out and buy a book after seeing this schlop.
