CANCELED! "Moral Court"
MORALCOURTTV.COM:
"Moral Court has completed production for this year. Thank you for your support."
Although this is OLD NEWS that "Moral Court" was canceled on Thursday May 24, 2001, there are some people on this Moral Court fan board that still think the show is "in recess." Nothing could be further from the truth!
The court show was hosted by Larry Elders, court reporter Vivian Guzman, and security officer Russell Brown and it was unable to secure a second year renewal. "Moral Court" hardly ever showed the "break-even" Nielsen Ratings number of 1.0. The average rating was around a 0.7 when the court strip debut in October 8, 2000, and ended with a 0.9 rating. "Moral Court's" distributor, Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution tried to revive the show but failed to boost the ratings. There were time period upgrades in New York and Los Angeles, but it wasn't enough to boost the national household rating.
Vivian Guzman was popular in early 2000 for making the "Howard Stern Show" rounds to promote the court strip...and that was about it.
Other first season talk shows that couldn't get a second renewal are: "Dr. Laura," "HouseCalls," "Lover or Loser," "Curtis Court" and "Men are From Mars, Woman are From Venus."
