Il Tinelo.....I believe it's near 55th and 5th. Walked by it and stopped in last time I was in NYC.

Must be near/next to the St. Regis then. One of the finest hotels anywhere!

Hey luvreg&kel, linger at your dinner table. . . . who knows, you may see Reege and Joy celebrating with an anniversary dinner.

Enjoy!

I have heard him talk about Fresco's many times. The Socco(sp) family owns it, and he has mentioned it numerous times.

We went there a few years ago. It is very good Italian food.

Rao's
Fresco
Il Tinelo
Valbella (in CT)

some of Regis' haunts. Which one has the maitr'd that he refers to as Johnny No?

Luvreg, are you going to have the Dover sole? Regis recommended that specific dish this week. Have a great time and give a report when you return. I can't believe how close so many of you are to NYC! I am SO JEALOUS!!!!

RnK-Johnny No is at Rao's. That's the old Italian restaurant where to me sounds like an old mob haunt! I don't think it's very big and I also don't think just anybody can get a reservation. You might have to know somebody. I also think "Joey Vest" works there and "Frankie Cheesecake." Now do you see why it sounds mob-related?!!!

I may not agree with her about KLG but love reading her posts!

It is a mob hangout and has about 10 tables only. Any evening you can see limos outside. And it's not in a terrif area of town. The food is yummy too. Rumored to be owned by the mob as well.

Well, we went on Friday night and had a great dinner and time.
The food was delicious!! I had stuffed mushrooms, a great tasting salad, chicken with spinach smothered in melted cheese. For dessert I had the most delicious white and chocolate mousse cake. It is a small romantic restuarant. The person who was in charge (or owner) was so nice on the phone because i called twice because we were stuck in traffic and couldn't make our reservation time. He told us not to worry he would have a table for us. We were never there and he didn't have to do that, we were 45 minutes late.
We loved it. He showed us where Regis sits and it is in the front of the restuarant. so he can escape easily without many people bothering him.
They said that Regis was there on Thursday night.
We then went to the poconos for the rest of the weekend. It was a very nice weekend. We never get to go out because we have three boys and not many people want to watch them.
Well if it wasn't for this board, i would not have gone to IL Tinelo, so thanks again for the information!!!!!!!!!!!

Vlanj, I just watched Regis on Fox News too; I was surprised to see Pat Sajac; didn't realize he had a new show. Anyway, it was a nice interview with Regis.

This thread has made me hungry too. LOL

Christine,

This was Pat's first show. He mentioned it the last time he was sitting in for Regis. Glad it went well. He and Regis both seemed very relaxed and comfortable with each other....actually, if you didn't know it was Pat's show, you wouldn't be able to tell who was interviewing whom. lol

LOL No kidding; I didn't know WHAT was going on. I thought they just had those two on to discuss things for some reason for awhile there! It did go well though; glad I was channel surfing at the time!

Hey, thanks for the update. Sounds like a great meal and place! How cool to actually "see" Reege and Joy's spot.

So mad I missed Reege with Pat! Busy in the kitchen and had another station on and got interested in that.

Sounds like another good interview. Very busy man, our Reege, lol.

Luvreg,
Sounds fantastic! When we stopped in back in August, we mentioned that we knew of the place from Regis talking about it, and they said yes, he is one of their favorite customers (I can see why)....they showed us his usual table, too. I remember it being very small, white tablecloths, old world Italian....they weren't open for dinner yet as we were there in the afternoon. They were very gracious and accommodating, as were all of the people we dealt with in NY...

Glad you had fun! Thanks for the report.
