A friendly reminder to all of the Regis fans out there. I'm not particularly crazy about Charles Grodin, but LaLucci should be fun.

Just finished watching LaLucci and Reege. What a talented guy he is. So easy to listen to his stories and he's so great with the guests. And LaLucci, does the woman ever age?--absolutely beautiful.
Hey, Reege even made Charles Grodin look good. What a funny interview that was.
Thoroughly enjoying Late Night with Regis Philbin!

Good morning g and v,
Drat...I fell asleep. Sounds like it was good. Do you think those were the original guests that were booked ,or emergency fill-ins provided by Regis? They are two of his very close friends. Wonder who cancelled, or got bumped?

Hi Scoops, I'm not at all sure about the guest-line up. I kind of thought the same thing because both CG and LaLucci mentioned their long-time friendship with Reege. Neither one really had anything to promote, either, so maybe Reege had them come in.
I will say this, after SL, a comediene came out and did his stand-up--he was hysterical! Actually made me laugh out loud. Don't remember his name but when Reege came over to shake hands, he said something like, that was fantastic, or words to that effect. They guy was the best I've heard in a long time!
Emergency fill-ins...
I guess we were treated to Regis' club opening? A song in place of the monologue. ("You Make me Feel so Young" - the long version, with his own words in places.) A joke about Kathie and Kelly NOT naming babies Regis, and a chat with the Stage Manager. I really do think Regis needs a co-host after all these years of relying on one.
Grodin complained about going all the way home, and then getting a call to come back. I thought he made Regis look good... ;0))
He commented so much on La Lucci's beauty and figure, Joy should have smacked him when he got home..
The standup comic was funny. Didn't stick around for the singer.
I wasn't as impressed as the poster above, but did watch out of loyalty.. <grin>
I'll take my Regis in the morning with coffee and host chat banter..
;0))

Hi G & Scoops,
Regis mentioned on Friday's show that he called Grodin and LaLucci and asked if they would come over for the show. Ofcourse, they said yes.
I watched Reege open with his song, 'You make me feel so young' (I get nervous when he sings, lol) and only watched the first interview with Chuck Grodin. G, you're right. Regis made him look good. lol
Missed the stand up and Susan Lucci. But, from what I caught, Regis did an absoloutely great job. Gosh, he really doesn't need anyone sitting next to him, does he?
Great job.
The comic's name was Garaldo, or something similar, with a hard "G" at the beginning. I think he has a bright future.. Jokes were terrorist/war oriented and very good..
;0))

The comedian on with Regis last night was Greg Giraldo. He was very funny. I live in Boston and just checked out the Comedy Connection sced and he's not booked there yet but, i will be looking out for him. Funny stuff!

The guest line-up scramble (thanks to another poster on another thread) was because originally CBS was going to show re-runs Thurs and Friday. Was someone wondering that here...or am I out of line by asking? Anyway, I thought the show was good.

Thanks for the info about the funny guy.
As I recall, only a few jokes were about the war/terrorists; the rest about the national "epidemic" of obesity. "Grandpa, how'd you live through it?" Very funny, topical stuff.
I'm with you V, Reege does very well on his own. He certainly has the gift of gab and is a master storyteller.

So, it seemed like Reege liked the comedian? lol Well, when he and Joy were discussing who Dave had lined up for the show, he did mention that Greg Giraldo (sp) was good---don't know if he's taking Dave's word for it, or if he heard him do stand-up before. Ugh, mad that I missed it. lol
