...To turn on my TV and not be embarrassed to say I was changing my mind about KLG, I happened to watch a couple of the shows this week.
One minute, I try to give this woman a break, and then the next I hear her being SO STUPID on television. I get to the place where she almost has me fooled, and then WHAMMO.
Look, "Codster" is going to grow up to be one of "Dorothy's Friends" (if you don't get what i just meant by that, you never will even if I explain)...
I turned on Regis and KL this week a couple of times and it was horrible. She just HAS NO CLUE. Does she even DO HER HOMEWORK before she opens HER BIG MOUTH?? How can a woman who seems so giving to charities, etc. turn around and be so shallow on tv??
I could not believe that she started yapping to Nathan Lane about his mother, when his mother just died!! I mean, does the woman not read?? There was a HUGE Parade magazine article about Nathan Lane and his horrible childhood, mother, father, etc. If she bothered to stop trying to look cute in front of Nathan Lane, and actually did her homework, she wouldn't make inappropriate comments about the guy's DEAD MOTHER.
And then she tries to compare herself to Carly Simon!!! What???? Is the woman on CRACK?? Every time she would promo Carly Simon, she had to mention HERSELF in the next breath. As if she and Carly have SO MUCH in common. She's a songwriter and so is Carly. <rolling eyes>
I really thought that a lot of folks here were ragging KLG for no good reason, other than to rag her. She was mildly irritating to me, but not enough to really anger me, but after seeing her this week, I think I'm starting to "get it" more.
The worst is when she started talking down to those two women in the audience, who mistakenly clapped when KLG was trying to make a point about something. She told Nathan "See, my fans just clap at ANYTHING I say no matter what it is.." Then, she made some crass comment about what the women looked like and what they were wearing...it was awful.
She was very irritating this week, when I saw her. Her insecurity is on fire. Her behavior indicates that she can't stand it that in a month or so, she'll be gone and someone younger will probably replace her and do just fine beside Regis. It's obvious, as some of you have tried to point out, that she is real worried that once she leaves, nobody will care.
I think, at this point, she's right. I was just shocked at what she said this week. I think I read, somehwere, that she made some comment about Regis at the Tony awards party or something about how he "used" to be "humble" but now he's not...whatever...
I really tried to give this woman a break, but what I saw with my own eyes this week made me sick.
Too bad Carly didn't sing "You're So Vain" and dedicate it to KLG. It's perfect.
