How refreshing.

How refreshing it was to see Live, with no CD promos, bragging about children, reminding us about appearance dates & times and so on. Judging by the response from the audience, I think it was apparent to everyone, that we are all glad to have Regis back. He told funny stories and seemed to be relaxed to have Joy sitting beside him. With her there, he didn't have to worry about having his sex life constantly poked fun at, like KLG does.
Just when I thought it wasn't possible for me to like Regis anymore then I already do, he brings this poor decrepit cat out on stage. Then he tells how he intends to get this cats cataract removed and have it's teeth fixed. It was obvious this 15 year old cat had a few problems. Then when it was time for the cat to leave and go back stage, Regis gave it a good bye kiss! Ya got to love em!

Emme.. I couldn't agree more. I watched Live this morning and was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooo (Ok, I think you get the picture.. LOL) relieved that KLG was on vacation.

The show was upbeat, funny and ENJOYABLE~~~ No one poking fun at the guests because they aren't as 'hip' or 'stylish' as KLG deems herself to be.. no one doing shameless self-promoting... no ICKY KLG singing.. EWWWW!!! No offensive sex jokes... WHAT A GOOD SHOW THIS MORNING!!!

And you're right, the cat was pitiful looking, wasn't it.. it's poor eye and tooth.. LOL.. and Regis is goina get it fixed up... LOL.. how sweet! What a guy!

It is no accident, I'd dare say, that when Regis returns KLG departs... woohoo.. a week without KLG.. there ARE blessings from God!!!!!

Yep there is a whopping difference when it's Reege hosting for one thing he is sweet and charming. If Kathie Lee were to bring out a cat it would more probably be some she-she pedigree and she would more than likely brag about all the blue ribbons it got in pet shows.In her household the only aging decrepit creature in need of cataracts surgery and dental care is hubby Frank. Although she could afford to cut him off from his supply of SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM and another facelift the man is looking a wee bit stretched!!!!!

In other words, it was an hour show commercial free of KMG stuff. The reason she couldn't show up was, she had to go to one of her sweatshops because a supervisor accidentally gave one of the chineese imigrant workers a 5 cent per hour raise, which doubled their salary. She caught the first flight she could to the factory to correct the mistake and fire the supervisor. All is well now at the KMG residence. She is resting comfortably in her sprawling 3 million dollar mansion. A press conference was conducted later and KMG assured everyone that this incident will never happen again.

Everyone is so right about the show this morning. I totally love it when Joy is on. You are right, Regis looked great and was obviously in a great mood, unlike when KMG is there, he always seems to be on edge, probably guarding himself against another cruel remark about him and Joy.
The cat thing was so adorable. That cat looked awful sick.
It was so nice of Regis and so typical of him to say that he is going to take it in and have the cataract removed and fix his teeth. A lot of other people would just put it down. You can tell that Regis cherishes this pet, even though the cat doesn't remember him! Way to go Regis!
I am looking forward to seeing these unknowns coming on the show starting tomorrow. The show is definitely refreshing when someone other than KMG is on. The show has a lot of class without her. Can't wait for her to be gone for good, any person would be a definite improvement.

Nasty dig about the sweatshops, D3. You know darn well that almost everything we buy in America today is
made in a third world country. The only way to stop that
is for Americans to refuse to buy anything that is not made
in the good old USA. Of course we would have to pay out much more, and most people wouldn't like that.
Kathie, at least, has tried to do something about where
the products she endorses are made. Thats more than the
other celebrities with endorsed products have done.

I always enjoy "Live" when Joy co-hosts. She's a delightful
person.

I just had to say I certainly agree with everyone and that todays show had such a relaxed feeling. Everyone finished their sentences without The Bigmouth finishing it for them and interrupting every other word. Reege and Joy discussed their vacation without any pretentiousness and the pictures were interesting and funny. Aaaaah a week of peace and quiet without the "Bigmouth"!!!!!! You guys are too funny. Yes it was a fun show today with Joy. I wish she would do it all the time when Kathie leaves. But I seem to remember a little plugging Regis did and that shameful thing he did showing the ladies in the audience with the t-shirts. If Kathie was to do something like that you guys would be all over her and you know it. You guys would get mad if she showed us pictures from her vacation and you know that, too. If the teasing she does to him bothered him or Joy for that matter, don't you think he would have told her by now? He is most comfortable with Kathie (and Joy). You will see that when the parade of wannabes comes through. Who will you pick on then? I know, you will pick on Kathie if she does a guest spot or is on Letterman or a concert. Somehow this you woman you can't stand, you will see every show she is on and pick it apart. You guys do make me laugh, though. I do enjoy the back and forth we have--the fans against the bashers. And those songs(even though I didn't agree with them) were quite funny!! Some of us fans have a sense of humor. I hope you all had a good week-end and a better week coming up. Fair post there Bigklgfan. I think it is interesting when fans and non fans debate here. No one can say this board is dull at the very least. My best explanation for why I often watch KLG when she turns up everywhere is because I always know with her something is going to happen. Maybe for the same reason people loved watching JR or Alexis Carrington? Where you love to hate them? Although let's not pounce on the word hate here...How about can't stand? I will say one thing for KLG she also is never dull.

I agree with you all as well. I love Regis so much, and I love Joy so much; so it only follows that Regis and Joy are just sooooooooooooooooo much. (sorry, I kinda copied Mer).

Anyway, that thing with the cat, I thought I was gonna die---or should I say cry. It was so funny how Regis said he was gonna fix it up. It needs alot. It was also so cute when Regis said it didn't remember him anymore. Actually, it might be because it can't see so good. Then at the end, when he kissed it "goodbye"... well, that was just too much for me.

I also agree with everyone else about the void of the "ME". It was like... so much more calm and sweet. Regis actually got to show all of his pictures.

Their friendly banter was so much fun. But, now, I don't know what her problem is. I, too, think she changed after that Frank thing. That interview with Diane Sawyer where she was using curse words, and then said, "If I offended anyone, Tough, but I think I've earned it"---or something like that. That wasn't the old KathieLee. First of all she wouldn't have cursed, and second of all, she wouldn't have said TOUGH. She would have said, "if I offended anyone, I'm sorry".

I was going to say the show was kinda boring without her, but, actually, I think it was because I'm always waitin' for some "bomb" to drop when she's there. I agree with the person who said they watch her on every other show because you never know what's going to happen.

Well, sorry I got so long-winded, but I was feeling very passionate about today's show.

As has been suggested I went to the R.Lake board to
take a look. Didn't like what I read or saw. There's weird
happenings over there. Is that why some of you regulars
are not posting? Just keeping quite until it al blows over?
I had never read Rickie's board, as I do not watch the show.
They get fairly graphic over there. I found the Regis-Kathie Lee board to be refreshingly clean and tame, after
reading the R.Lake board.
Emme, you and Roxy even sound like winners to me now.
As you know, I have only been reading this board the past 2 or 3 months, so what is going on?

Well Happy, you might have gone to the Ricki Lake board a little late because the post some of us wanted people to check out had nothing what so ever to do with Ricki Lake, but rather (Geri AKA Shobags or It's me) Who has impersonated everyone and caused many to be banned from the boards thanks to all her games. The post is no longer there but I will fill you in...Geri tried to impersonate Trevor who manages these boards and he responded by banning her and placing a hysterical picture from the scene from the Wizard of oz when the house land on the witch. The title was Ding dong the witch is dead...which old witch? the wicked witch.
