View Full Version : The Bachelor

Has anyone else been watching The Bachelor? I like watching it, I think it is funny watching those women compete for his attention. I think he will choose Trista,although he apparently had a "good" time with Amanda. I wonder if he will think Amanda was too easy and will think that would not be a wise choice for a wife,since she was "easy". Amanda had to know there was a chance of him having sex with the other two women,she apparently did not mind.

I watch it and agree with everything you said, I get the impression that he is a player, he seems to tell all the ladies the same thing. Now maybe this is me but did you watch it last night? I got the distinct impression that Amanda and him slept together, they didnt actually show it but the chocolate was a good indicator lol. I forgot her name, but I liked the one that he eliminated last night, I though she seemed very respectful, didnt want to kiss him until she knew him better, I dont think he liked it, I think he will pick Trista, she does seem like high maintaince but he does seem drawn to her, there is a special on Thurs night at 8 where all the ladies come back and talk and then at 9 he choose the one....thank goodness for 2 tv's since Survivor is one and a new friends, I need 3 tv's lol
<ALgal>
04-23-2002, 04:42 PM
I agree, Shannon was the lady he dumped last night. I thought what she did took alot of guts,she knew deep down in order to stay she would have to sleep with him and I admire her for drawing the line at climbing in the sack and competing in the bedroom,which is exactly what it would be.
Trista lucked out,because he got sick and there was no option,he could not ask for sex,and I am sure that is what he wanted. I can not believe that Amanda climbed in bed with him,she knew that was a "for sure" rose.LOL
<Monica>
04-23-2002, 04:46 PM
Ok my assumption about her sleeping with him was correct, chocolate was the dead give away lol, I do admire Shannon for sticking to her beliefs, one of my friends thinks that she has a hangup on sex, why? because she refused to sleep with a guy that she barely knows...I really respect that she said no last night. I wonder if Trista would have if he wasnt sick? Now I am curious, is he going to want to marry a girl that he can sleep with so easily and quickly? I dont think so
<ALgal>
04-23-2002, 04:56 PM
I think Shannon was intelligent enough to have that "gut" feeling that he had slept with Amanda. She liked him alot,but knew he is a player. I think he will choose Trista, but I wonder if he will keep in touch with Amanda to have his action on the side because she proved,she is a sure piece of ***.
I felt sorry for Shannon,because I think she was dissappointed in him,seeing he is a shallow person.

Don't count Amanda out yet even if she did go to bed with him. I remember when I was in my 20s and I met a detective in the local police dept. I think we had one date and he assumed we'd just jump in the sack. He thought of sex like shaking hands with someone. I didn't share that belief and of course, no more dates. Shortly afterwards he married the local porcupine.....more stuck in her than out. So much for knowing how men think.

See?
YOu just proved my point, lisac.
Two people just having a nice conversation and you have to go make some bitchy comment.
Do you crave negative attention?
Yes, we should all just ignore you - but it's so DAMN irritating!
And you know very well that you are trying to pick some stupid fight.
God, I swear you are so pathetic!
Sorry all, I've been watching this for almost a year and it just p***** me off!
Jinh
<Nicole>
04-23-2002, 07:00 PM
How can anyone say that Lisac NEVER instigates a fight? This proves she is a troublemaker.
Jinh..
I am so sorry, but I have to say this to you... I just can't stand the hypocrisy.. The "apology" should be posted separately... Directly after your original message. Sorry, you seem to have missed the "window of opportunity"...
Watch this get turned around in a flash.. but the Lisac has been trying for a bit, now to get a rise out of folk, Tsk, tsk...

I think all of you have figured out why Lisac comes to these boards day after day. She IS here to pick fights. I have a good friend that says she purposely goes to chat rooms and message boards to start fights. She says she enjoys running people off. It sounds like Lisac thrives on the same situations. Have fun ,Lisac,nobody really gives a damn what you think or say, you are a NOBODY,and you know it.

Lisac - If you're looking for class, this web site is not for you. Why do you hang around? And as the site heading says, it's for dysfunctional messages. Yes, we all know, you don't do dysfunctional....so stop hanging around. From what I've seen, you certainly won't be missed....oh, only by your other 2 buddies.

ET,,I did not respond to your post about Amanda,,because I was side tracked by that "Classy" whatever that comes here,LOL.
You may be correct about Easy Amanda winning Alex, he knows he will have all the sex he wants if he marries her. However, my brothers think he is gay and just has not come out of the closet,LOL.
My guess is he will choose Trista,I think she would have jumped in the sack with him also,if he had not been sick.
<Monica>
04-23-2002, 09:07 PM
I cant see how he is gay, I mean if he is why would he do the show? I don't think he will pick either girl, there is an article in people magazine recently, dont remember who said it, think it was him, but it stated that he doesnt have to give a ring to either of them, makes me wonder if that comment is a hint that he chooses no one?
<Lola>
04-23-2002, 09:19 PM
Oh, Lie-sac, you are really a classy lady, you know that.
You just did a fine job of showing that.
This thread was for the non ladies, so take your high class ass elsewhere.
Pot and Kettle, I pronounce you husband and wife.

Just gotta love you gals. LOL
Maybe I'll wander over to Rosie or Martha's place and ask some of those "high class" posters to visit on this site. That'll really turn the world of V, G and L upside down. They won't know what to do with all that CLASS. They'll never leave the board because they'll be so damn busy busting someone's chops over their CLASS.

I agree that Shannon was good to stick to her principles, BUT why did she keep accepting the rose? Everytime she was with Alex, her body language said it all. She always backed away and crossed her arms. That means, I am closing off communications with you. She just didn't make sense. She seems to be a bit of a c--k teaser to me and selfish. She wanted it her way or no way. Where was the compromise? And what was with her not wanting to be seen in her bathing suit? They all had them on in the mud baths during one of the first episodes. If he had chosen her, I could see that she would be trouble all the way. I think Alex knew that too. At the end of everytime he was with her he commented on how he felt it was like they were going together and they were fighting all the time.
I think he will choose Trista. She is more mature than Amanda. Amanda is too fun loving for him and not much depth. She has a bit more maturing to do.
I have to laugh at Alex's reasoning that because she had an annulment she wasn't married! What a joke. Talk about someone compromising principles. LOL
<PHD>
04-23-2002, 11:06 PM
He is going to choose the sluttiest one, use her up and then call the other one later.
<joli>
04-24-2002, 09:37 AM
I also think he will choose Trista....at first I didnt like Shannon...I do think that she got to attached to him to begin w/. She is the only one that did not portray herself as a slut. I wonder if any of these women have had the thought that he is a male slut?? It is quite obvious that he is when he slept w/ Amanda. I think that IF he does wind up choosing one of them that he is just going to mess around on them....maybe that is why at his age he is still single and needed to find a woman this way ?
<RnKnS>
04-24-2002, 12:25 PM
This is a spoiler alert....my next message will have information you might not want to know if you are really INTO The Bachelor. I won't reveal the winner (don't know who it is) but I will repeat something I read in People Mag this week. Fair warning?
<RnKnS>
04-24-2002, 12:27 PM
I read in one of the mags, believe it was People, that Alex was seen recently with a new girlfriend...none of the girls from the show....she's someone semi-famous but cannot remember who. Guess he didn't end up with any of the girls he met on the show. Either that or he ended up marrying Amanda but they already had it annuled....LOL
<LLuccy>
04-24-2002, 01:16 PM
Wow, RnKnS, that is interesting. I wonder if he ends up picking Trista and she does not accept. I keep reading where people are of the impression that she just wants to be picked to win...not necessarily to marry him. How interesting, I guess we just have to stay tuned for tomorrow evening.
<vlanj>
04-24-2002, 01:21 PM
Did any of you see the View this morning? They had the girl that was not chosen the other night. It was like a vulture on prey, but she held up pretty well.
Well, their next guest, can't remember her name, but she's on ER, came out and ripped into the girl. (naturally the girl wasn't there) She called her a "hooker that didn't take money." And wait, all the View gals were laughing. They are such freaks---I was hoping the girl from the Bachelor would break onto the set and have a free-for-all. lol
<LLuccy>
04-24-2002, 01:34 PM
I missed it, but that's too bad. Poor thing. But you know, when you go on a show like the Bachelor, you are bound for this type of publicity. That's too bad.
<Monica>
04-24-2002, 01:49 PM
Darn I missed that part, I was watching until the bachelor girl left, wow a hooker? Dont you have to have sex to be hooker? I think the one that was on the view today had alot of class when she was on the bachelor, she was one of the last ones left that didnt sleep with him, I give her alot of credit for that
<Scoopsplus>
04-24-2002, 10:05 PM
Well, I just read an article in the latest issue of The National Enquirer about Amanda...the one with "the boobs". Yes...I do indulge in the tabloids on occasion...especiall y when I have PMS, and a big bag of Lays potato chips. lol Anyways, it has the whole scoop..love that word...on her ex,(one of her high school teachers), and a previous boyfriend,(her high school track coach)..let's keep in mind she is only 23. UGH! She apparently/allegedly quit cheerleading (they have high school photos) to join the track team and aggresively pursue the Donny Osmond clone track coach. When she tired of him, she went off to college to "find a husband". She lasted two semesters, then returned home, and went after the ...I think 17 years older former teacher..he looks kind of handsome. They had a brief marriage, which included an incident in which he had to bail her out of charging tummy liposuction of her mother's credit card without permission. He also paid for the breast augmentation. (It says she had been teased for being lopsided...one was an A cup, and one a C cup.) He apparently had the marriage annulled after finding out she had a penchant for older men in the area.
Hope The Bachelor uses his brain, and not his boob-o-meter to make his decision!
<Scoopsplus>
04-26-2002, 07:07 AM
Good Morning. Well, he used his boob-o-meter. Don't expect any surprises from men when breasts and sex are involved. lol I will be back later on. Have a good morning. Hey...did anyone else get a Pierce Brosnan marries Jane Krakowski feeling? lol Just kidding..that's who they both remind me of..except for the mammaries of course.

There's an interesting piece on the batchelor and the woman he picked in the Cindy Adams column of the New York post today--since I haven't watched the show, it wasn't very interesting to me, but you guys have watched the show might want to read it and see what you think.....
She is only 23 and has already had tummy liposuction and breast surgery? yikes.
<gailsie>
04-26-2002, 07:57 AM
Hi lisa, just finished reading the paper and you're right, the article really didn't mean anything to me since I didn't watch the show. That was some picture of Amanda though! Wow, can you say Dolly Parton? Fell asleep really early last night, so I didn't see the ending of Survivor either. BTW, Post also mentioned "Ripa's" book club in the back TV section. I thought that was interesting that there was no "Live!" attachment to it. Anyway, I'm home this morning so I get to watch the show, lucky me!
<Scoopsplus>
04-26-2002, 12:23 PM
Lisa Hi! That pretty much corroborates what I posted on 4**6, however, you never know with The Enquirer. lol Guess it must be true. Going back to another thread, nice to know that someone has heard of our little town. It is in the Historical Registry, however most tourists bypass us, and go straight to Plymouth. Did you know that Eleanor Roosevelt called our Main St. "the prettiest Main St. in America"? Of course that was obviously years ago, but nice to hear you think it's pretty too. Does your sister live South of Boston as well?
<Scoopsplus>
04-26-2002, 12:27 PM
i am referring to what I posted on 4/24...not 4/26. then that hyphen screener messed it up more. sheesh.
<lisac>
04-26-2002, 12:44 PM
Hi Scoops!!! My sister lives in Taunton. Certainly not as nice as Hingham lol--but they live in a really nice neighborhood and are happy there.
I am not too familiar with Hingham and that whole area. The only reason I know it and have passed through was because one of my best friends grew up in Hull, Ma. and when going to the wedding, showers, etc. I seem to remember passing through Hingham and saying wow, I love this town. So many beautiful, big old homes. And wasn't the original Talbots there--when there was only one? lol
I grew up in a small town in RI right on the Seekonk/Attleboro border, and have many relatives in that area. I get down every few months. Went to college in the Newton/Waltham area, so I know that area really well too.
<Scoopsplus>
04-26-2002, 12:44 PM
Gailsie, it's funny you said that about Dolly Parton....that was Amanda's childhood idol. She had posters in her room of Dolly, and all her albums. Odd for someone of her generation, but she got her wish...she conjurs up images of Dolly. lol
I watched The Early Show this morning .They had the bachelor and Amanda on.Trista was there also but chose to be interviewed seperately in an upstairs room because she said that she didnt want to take anything away from them by sharing the spotlight.Did anyone else watch it and notice when Diane (I think that was who interviewed Trista,not sure now)asked Trista if it didnt work out with Amanda and he called her and wanted to explore the possibilities would she.They had The Bachelor(don't know his name)also on camera up in the corner of the tv screen so that we could see his and amandas reactions to what Trista was saying ,
he seemed to be listening pretty intently waiting for that answer.Thank goodnees she quietly said No.He seemed to be hanging on quite a few questions put to Trista.
<Scoopsplus>
04-26-2002, 12:59 PM
Lisa..what a coincidence! My first home when we were married was in the condos right on the beach over in Hull. I didn't mention it in the getting to know you thread...just figured that would be even more obscure than Hingham.
Yes, this is where the original Talbots is, plus their home offices. One of my favorite stores!! Also..my husband"s best friend lives in Taunton, a very nice community. His wife is Kerri Powers...she goes by her maiden name, since she is an up and coming folk/country singer. Your sister might have heard of her..she's been around for a bit. She plays locally, has opened for some pretty big acts, and was invited to sing at the famous Bluebird Cafe. She has her own website at kerripowers.com...if you are interested. It's a small world, isn't it?!!!
<Scoopsplus>
04-26-2002, 01:12 PM
MG..YES..I saw the interview...I got the same feeling. He was hanging on her every answer.
<lisac>
04-26-2002, 01:17 PM
That is too funny, Scoops. Going to write a note to myself to ask my sister about Kerri Powers the next time I talk to her.
<RnKnS>
04-26-2002, 01:33 PM
Ok you GMA watchers....tell me what I need to know. Are Alex and Amanda an item? Or did they say? Did she move to Calif? What about that bit I read in a magazine that he was being seen around town with an actress?
<vlanj>
04-26-2002, 01:43 PM
Hi RnKnS:
I can only speak about him being seen around town with another "lovely." Diane Sawyer interviewed him the other day, and he said "absolutely not, that was a "fib"---Diane persisited, and he held his grown and emphatically said it was not true.
BTW.,Starting at Noon on Sat. till around 4pm (EST) there will be an Osbourne Marathon...starting from their first episode. Then I believe it will be airing again on Sunday.
lol
RnK...
If that girl's name was Meredith, she is just an old friend. Meredith on the View called her from the show the other day, and she denied any romantic interest whatsoever.
If it wasn't Meredith, then have no info..
;0))

I'm not correcting ALL of my typos---however I feel compelled to make this correction:

04-26-2002, 01:54 PM
Thanks for the info, PK and Vla. Not sure what the other girl's name was. But....did Alex and Amanda say if they are "going out" (reverting to Jr. High terms here). She's too young for him! Or too dumb, or something.

Watched the interview today. She is way too immature for him. I am wondering what his family is thinking as they thought she would be a baby machine. They seemed to like Trista more. I think she was the classier of the two and would have made a more acceptable partner.
The couple haven't had anything but phone communications for 2 months by order of the network but she will be moving out to California the beginning of May.
vlanj,thank you,thank you ,thank you for the post about The Osbornes!LOL
I have been hoping that MTV would air the first episodes of The Osbornes.I have only saw the last 3 .I am not

Don't thank me too soon...I just went to their site to "double check" and they're not scheduled for the marathon. So, then I went to my local cable provider and it just has them airing at 12 noon. Don't know what gives...I know I definitely saw it on my TV announcing the marathon---in fact I saw it last night.
I did, however, view a piece of video that will be airing on Tuesday. Let me just say that Ozzy is very proud of his &*^%$#*& gravy. lol It's Christmas---have to check with my kids to make sure it didn't already air, but I haven't seen it before.
I'll post back if I find out anything more about the marathon.
<Scoopsplus>
04-26-2002, 05:22 PM
I missed the beginning of the GMA interview, but my friend said that Amanda is not wearing the ring...they are not officially engaged...and are just planning to date...exclusively of course. What I want to know, is why get the ring in the first place, if that was the plan? If it was just for drama, then that is not reality TV. Too scripted.
I don't think I will get so easily sucked in to the next one......yeah right.
Where oh where has my willpower gone? sigh.
<Jinh>

Ah Lisac, come on and lighten up a little, it's only TV..lol Times have changed so has tv.
As far as the Bachelor, I'm glad he didn't give her the ring. I bet this was a last minute thought he had going on. Especially after hearing what his parents had to say. It's ok to date exclusively for a while....if it works out, she can still have that ole Harry Winston ring. Why do I keep thinking this is not going to work....sigh!
I myself also like Trista, but then I'm thinking, if he had picked Trista, would she have accepted....
<Monica>
04-27-2002, 01:54 PM
There was an article about the show in my paper today, it stated that its coming in second place for ratings at that time spot, first place is CSI. What I find interesting, do you think that the ABC bigwigs care that Kelly makes fun of an ABC show but really promotes an MTV show? Wouldnt they want Kelly to promote any/all ABC shows? I know its not her job to promote anything but they might be thinking if your gonna promote, then promote abc, what does everything think? Just my observation
I would think that any thoughts spoken on Live! good or bad are SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM.So actually she was promoting it just by creating controversy.
<Monica>
04-27-2002, 04:26 PM
Very good point MG, I never thought of it that way, thank you
<footloose>
04-27-2002, 05:44 PM
Don't you people think that he got the ring because the show paid for it??!! Do you really think he could have afforded that ring on his own? I don't think so. Everything was paid for by the sponsors. They even made comment that it will be interesting to get back to "real" life without all the limos, and expensive dates. I suppose he would have been a fool for not getting the ring if the show paid for it. Also, wasn't this whole thing hyped to end with an engagement? What a fabulous way he found out of that situation and get a ring for nothing!
BTW, wasn't Amanda the Events Planner? No wonder she can just pick up and move to California! Just think, he passed up doctors and lawyers to settle for boobs! LOL Obviously we know he wasn't interested in brains!
<Scoopsplus>
04-28-2002, 01:35 PM
