God, West Wing is So Good tonight - I have goose bumps!
Oh, by the way (don't mean to brag) I was in the West Wing.
My nephew works for the DNC and has friends who work in the White House.
It was totally awsome - the Oval Office took my breath away.
The whole thing was just almost too much - even had my picture taken at the Press-Room podium!
Back to the Show!

Aarrrgh! I love that show. I forgot to tape it...had my book club meeting tonight. What was it about? Hubby is already snoozing, so can't ask him. lol
AARRGGHH, too..
I missed it. But!!! If I can stay awake, I get a second shot at it on the West coast feed..
Who am I kidding... At least I will enjoy the summer re-runs...

Scoops-
It was called 'Documentary Special' and it was Emmy material if I've ever seen it! JMO of course.
They did interviews with former White-house staff as-well-as former presidents Carter and Clinton. Also Kissinger. It doesn't sound exciting, I know, but it was so well done!
The editing was fantastic - they would take a part of an interview and then show previous (related) West Wing sceens.
Anyway, I just loved it!
Wish I would have taped it for my husband who is working - oh well, it will be re-run.

P.S. Scoops meant to say sorry you missed it too.
What book is your club reading? Any "beach trash" in there? LOL!
Jinh
Scoops...
I have satellite with both NY and LA stations - grandfathered from before they changed the regs.. So I get a second shot on all the network shows.
I do have a tivo type receiver (pvr), though. It holds 35 hours of programing on a hard disk (not zip drive ;0)). Extremely easy to program... And has one hour of auto recording, so I do have the pause or replay of any live show - up to an hour..But I don't have control of that one during the evening hours... <grin> (Staying together 40 years requires "some" compromises...)

As per your advise, I ordered a PVR to go along with my dish satellite (if they can ever get there S*** together and get it installed) YAK!
Anyway, I can't get local (NBC) on the Dish Channels so I have to connect and then reconnect. Question is, if I program my PVR will I loose everything when I disconnect to go to local programming?
Well, if you don't know, I'll try and remember to ask the installer Friday when he comes out (yet again)!
Thanks dear!
Jinh
Jinh...
Definitely ask your installer. But I'm almost certain that you cannot pvr your antenna programs, because they don't come through the satellite..
I will try that, but I don't have much hope for that feature..
Will let you know..
;0))
PK
Nope, I can't do it, but that does not mean a whole lot... LOL
FYI... Kwgn out of Denver - one of the Super Station channels, carries LIve at 10 AM Central - don't know when you normally get it there.. It's part of a $5.00 Upn/Wb, etc. package, but you can purchase the single station for $1.50/mo - if you "specifically" ask for it. Which is all well and good, but when you want to discontinue getting that single station (or any package), there is a $5.00 disconnect fee.. LOL...
But anyway, we have been extremely happy with the Dish company. They have treated us extremely well. Maybe it's cause when we signed on, it cost $600 + installation?? (There's a search feature on your clicker, where you can plug in a key word, and everything will come up.. If you want to record anything from a later date, all you have to do is click on it, click again, and it's done...It will even turn on the receiver and record the event... If the TV is on, it will change to that channel for your viewing pleasure and record at the same time... ONly thing you can't do, is watch one program and record another - you can record a program and watch a previously recorded program, though..
Just way too kewl...
(Lisac, don't even try...)

Jinh...thanks so much for the rundown..it sounds like it was a wonderful show. I will definitely be awaiting the repeat. PK, you seem to have quite the setup. Could be above my technical mastery. lol You recommend relinquishing the master controls to the hubster, eh? Don't think I am ready for that just yet, but if things start going down the tubes, I will give it a go.

Jinh, forgot to add that our book selection was The Bonesetter's Daughter by Amy Tan...she also wrote The Joy Luck club. Anyways, this book is very good. That's why I haven't been on the last couple of days..I had to finish up for the meeting..I am actually one of those people that do read two books at a time.. and squeeze in a little tabloid time as well..yes, it can be done. lol
I am also reading Jemima J, by Jane Green. (which would be perfect for Kelly's book club.)
I always have a back up in case our club selection stinks...which they have on occasion. Well, I'm tired...night gals! L8r.

Morning Scoops and PK
Thanks PK for the info. Yes, you should be happy with your dish co! Ker Ching! You must have had it for a while - mine cost 49.99 w/free installation and three months of service free. I've seen even better deals, but missed them. It's 36.99 per month for 150 channels and the pvr.
Still confused about the pvr, it seems silly not to be able to record one program while you're watching another - that seems to be the point to me...oh well.
Really hoping their merger goes through. If it does I won't have to worry about local tv.
Oh, PK, we had a Harlequin Great Dane "Ceasar". He was something else - weighed more than me! So sad though, had the classic diseases that poor breeding brings. Hip displaysea (sp)?, mange, etc. He only lived to be eight and it was a constant battle to keep him going.
Scoops - I loved the Joy Luck Club. I should read the 'Bonesetter's Daughter' - my sister really liked it too.
Well, happy reading and chatting and whatever else!
Jinh
