View Full Version : REGIS ROCKS!

Regis was on top of his game today! What a funny guy he was!
Here is what I love about the way Regis shows pictures. He builds up a story before he shows the pic, then the pic is the punchline. Very effective. I love to watch him show pictures and hear the stories. Not sure who is taking all these pictures, since Regis is in many of them, but if it's you, Gelman, good job and keep up the picture taking! ;)
Thought the story about Gelman's secretary going from "Christine the Intern" to CHRISSY! was a riot.
Too bad about Kelly missing the party but it looked like they carried on without her. I think she is probably all socialized out. Thought Regis' comment to himself, "ok, just let it ramble, then when it pauses, jump in with a new story"....was interesting to say the least....where does he get this stuff?

Hi RnK--Regis has been fabulous the past couple of weeks--I think it's because of all of the social stuff he's been doing and he has so many stories. So, so funny. I actually had a stomach ache this morning, from laughing. Kelly has had a few good stories, too, which has been great.
Hugh Grant was funny as well. What a personality.

Hi S & L,
Regis has been good lately. And, he's getting quite a few zingers in on Kelly's behalf. lol He said something before the comment you posted above S, but I just can't think of it. Kelly was yapping about something, going nowhere, and when she blamed her confusion on not feeling well, Regis said something back to her. Can't think of it, but it was something like 'so what's new', or 'that's not new.' lol
And why was she repeating herself about someone calling her (when there is another party) even if she's on her death bed---or Regis' death bed. If you're not there, why would she want the host to call her? If she was so concerned, maybe she should have called Gelman to let them know she and her guy weren't coming.

V, if you can't remember the story, why, try to repeat it???
I personally, think Regis has been awful this week!!! He is so full of himself, it is really getting nauseous. He reminds me of teenage boys that want to try to impress the young girls. (trying to get the younger viewers?)Lets face it, he is FORTY (40) years older than Kelly, he is old enough to be her father, her grandfather, and him trying to act her age, is really just too much.
Maybe this is why they "picked" Kelly, to keep Regis younger!! Well, it is not working. My Mother, who is just a little older than Regis, thinks he is obnoxious at times. She likes Kelly, but she thinks Regis is over the edge.
I mean, how many guests did he tell this week, that "we" are pregnant?? As he is pointing to Kelly. I personally think that is disgusting. The guest didn't know how to respond.
I am sorry, Regis, is getting to be very annoying to me. I sure hope he gets over IT, because, I really like him, but his attitude lately is getting old, just about as old as he is.
Since Regis is 71, I think it is great,that he really acts young, but, there are times, when I think he could "act" a little more mature. I mean come on, why can't he be more kind about Kelly's pregnancy? I really don't want to hear him bash the act of Motherhood.

Good post MCD! There are times when I really enjoy Regis, but when he starts including himself in Kelly's pregnancy, well I think he's sick!! That's when I start looking forward to him retiring.
Lately, I'm looking forward to being "Regis Free, ENTIRELY!!!" If Gelman reads this board for input, like some of you think he does, I'm sure it's not just to find your negative comments about Kelly's clothes. So here's an idea for ya Gelman, 'Tell REGIS to clean up his act!' .
<lisac>
12-21-2002, 02:35 AM
and when are we going to be "Regis free, entirely"? Have you heard something? lol!!!
<vlanj>
12-21-2002, 04:34 AM
lol
...coming back out of the woodwork. lol
To mcd, since you are so annoyed with Regis, why don't you change the "durn" channel? lol
I guess my "kelly free in 2002" has caught on.... lol

I know, I know.....
"Kelly free in 2003"
lol

Here we go again. First we had "posting without watching" or, PWW, now it's "posting without remembering." Goodness ladies, don't ya know the rules of this board, lol?
gailsie signing off with a PWL, (posting while laughing)
Ho, Ho, HO.... If we're making a game of throwing campaign slogans around, and since I prefer not to be "Kelly" free or "Regis" free, I think "L, V, & G free in two oh three" has a certain ring.....
Carry on....
;0))

Yeah, its really "funny" to make fun of a pregnant woman when shes not feeling well. It really cracks me up! (not really, sarcasm here). Oh well, whatever makes you "lol".

To avoid any confusion, my above post was in reference to this "witty" post:

Wow, glad to have some responses to my post. Funny how we all view Regis differently. He absolutely cracks me up when he makes fun....he is the heart and soul of that show and I really can't imagine it going on long without him. I believe Kelly feels the same way. Whoever said Regis is full of himself, you bet he is and that's what makes him compelling to watch, I feel. He is self-confident and that is appealing to me. I think Kelly is coming along a bit in this area. Regis is so self-confident that he feels comfortable poking fun at himself, like when he can never understand a movie plot, or he leaves his wallet somewhere.
He has had an incredible run and I hope it goes on longer.
I love the talk about "we're having a baby"....I think it is funny! Kelly seems to get a kick out of it too, or she'd tell him privately to stop. And I love that he goes out most nights and tells us about it....I live vicariously through him! LOL!

THAT'S where I completely AGREE with you, RnKns. I love someone who can poke fun at themselves. And when Regis pokes fun at himself, then he can also poke fun at Kelly without appearing mean. And I really believe that's what it is (not mean, just playful) with Regis when he says those things, not deliberate put downs to Kelly as a few like to make it sound. I guess what I really don't like is when someone makes it seem like he's being snide towards Kelly to make fun of her in a mean way.
But on the other hand Kelly pokes fun at herself too, and I think that's also funny. Some say when she makes self-derroggatory (sp?) jokes about herself, she's being self-demeaning. Why is it funny when Regis does it, but putting herself down when Kelly does the same?
If it's just a case of you LIKE Regis better, admit it (those of you who like to make cruel remarks about Kelly), and maybe some of us who defend her will just see it as your personal "schtick" or whatever, and either post agreeing or disagreeing about what you post or ignore it---which you like to say you do, but I don't think so. However, that's also JMO.

Hey V I am just like you. I watch everyday, so I can bash Regis, the way you all bash Kelly!!! I like the guests they have, sometimes. Not all of the hip-hop talent they think we like, then, I do change the channel.
As you all say, this is a message board, and I am entitled to say what I want to say, right???? It doesn't have anything to do with changing the channel. But thanks for the advice, I don't really think I will be taking it anytime soon.
Have fun at your party tonight, oh sorry, that was G that was going to the party. My mistake.
Maybe the slogan should be "REGIS FREE IN 2003"
It really does rhyme better don't you think?
<lisac>
12-21-2002, 03:09 PM
how does "Regis free in 2003" rhyme better than "Kelly free in 2003"??? And will somebody please explain how and why we are going to be Regis free in 2003? lol ok--I'm off!!
<vlanj>

L,
lol
Have fun tonight--and drive safe.

and always will be the STAR of Live. Kelly is just second banana and can be replaced. Regis cannot be replaced. If he were to leave, the show as we know it would fold. If she were to leave, they would find another girl for Reege.
<AndRegis>
12-21-2002, 06:07 PM
Was second banana to Joey Bishop, long before Kelly was even born... Regis has had to struggle all his life to windup a morning daytime talkshow host... King though he is...
This whole "competition" between the hosts is silly at best. The show is what it is, and will be what it will be, regardless of the petty sniping that goes on here daily... (Contrary to the beliefs/hopes of some...)

Regis Free in 2003- for those of us that watch soley for Kelly, (when she's not on, we don't watch), we'll be Regis Free for the same 3 months that Kelly is on maternity leave.

just a question...are we actually supposed to believe that "vlanj" and "lisac" are TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE????
<Well...>
12-22-2002, 11:27 AM
The legend states that V. L. & G. were actually conjoined triplets...who have since been separated...
Will we ever know for sure?
Probably not...

lol, I guess BaBa Walters isn't quite the journalist she thinks she is. "Evidently," she missed out on three of the "most intriguing people of 2002." Vlanj, lisac and gailsie, rofl.
