Please forgive my ignorance on the issue of private sites, but I have a question for you. If its truly a public site, why is the approval process necessary? Doesn't that just make it a private site who wants to let new members in? And why are you so concerned with knowing who the original user is, if indeed its open to everyone, why would that matter, unless a few people wanted to maintain control over who joins and who doesn't?

I went there and read their rulz. It is all bogus. They come on this site and bash Kathie Lee and Kelly Ripa, but in their own rulz on their own boards they want no "hate speech" and nobody hating on others. That is a far cry from them bashing one another here on this board that they have been doing. Then to top it off they can not only delete our posts that we give an opinion about (bad or good) but they will EDIT our postings too? LOL

If you want another board besides this one, we have a nice open social community over in Yahoo. Its the Live with Regis and Kelly Site. I would like to officially invite Shelly to join us there. Its really more of a social club, but the theme is acceptance of all types of people and everyone including people that know I hate them.. are welcomed to join under any username they wish with no screening process. Our only "rule" is that you try to work out your problems with the people you don't get along with. But we have a no deletions, no banning policy and everyone acts nice because they can choose to act however they want to, so they just naturally choose to be social and friendly.

Thank you for the invite...but I HATE the Yahoo Clubs!!! I hate the frame windows and the small areas to read and post in!!! There is just too much stuff going on for one little screen! Why can't Yahoo make their screens wider and bigger like this one where there are no frames and all of our messages are linked together instead of clicking on each one? I also don't like us being segregated by the "members" and the "visitors." Here, it doesn't matter if you came on here today, or you have been posting for a year now. Everybody is treated the same. That's how it should be. No rules and no need to have a username or password.

Why do I have the feeling that Inky from the LiveFanatics board is getting hostile at us for expressing our opinions and if I didn't know better, I would think Inky would try to delete or postings here and ban us if this was their board. I am part of the management at LiveFANatics and want to clarify something. First of all inky was anything but hostile. Anyone that knows inky from the BB, Off Topic or LiveFANatics knows she doesn't have a hostile bone in her body.

As far as a cult? I think not. I don't think it's fair for you to prejudge a site that you have ever belonged to. There are a lot of very nice ladies that post at our site and I would appreciate you not referring to it in that manner.

KJRad would delete them and ban me at once. That is how the cult operates. If you don't agree by their rules or don't agree with their opinions, then they will get you and ban you forever. I would just ignore this ignorance. These women obviously have an agenda. At least one of them have had the same agenda since the beginning of the year on the regular Regis board. That agenda being to bash us as much as possible. For the sake of bashing. For whatever low-minded reasons they think they have.

Now let me give some of the history here. There were a group of us that met on the Live with Regis board. That's what it was called when we started posting there. There was no Kelly then. This was almost a year ago for me. We became friends and the posts on the Regis board became way off topic and we wanted to have a more personal place to post. Anyway it all evolved into the LiveFANatics board. There were, of course, others that came to the Regis board and decided that they didn't like that we had become friends and had quite a good time posting about the show and ourselves. I won't put a word to what that sounds like to me, but I think the more open-minded posters here will see it for what it was. Some ladies that had a show in common and liked to talk about it. It was actually the very first time I'd ever been to a message board and I was so surprised to find such a diverse group of funny, smart, and; open-hearted and minded people. It's really quite a wonderful group of women.

But there had to be those women that found the board and had a huge problem with us all being such good friends. Ever since then they have used every opportunity to bash us and try to put us down for being friends. To the point of making outright lies about us. As a matter of fact I would say that fully half of our group really like Kelly. Some used to like Kathie Lee and some still do. Some like both still. Like I said it's quite a diverse group.

We agree to disagree and give our opinions respectfully. It's really quite a wonderful thing to me. How we all met and how we've continued this unique relationship. That's it. Just a group of women that met somewhere (it could have happened at the PTO or whatever) on the internet and like each other. Even though we don't always agree about the issues of the day or the show. It's amazing really considering we are all pretty opinionated. We range in age from our 20's to our 50's. Some of us have kids and some of us don't. Some of us have grown children and some of us have children that are just starting school. There are quite a number of us (in the double digits) and I find it amazing that we are still friends. Of course like any other group some have gone for different reasons.

That's pretty much it in a nutshell. I'm sure one of our bashers will be back to add some more to this. I'm sure they'll find some way to twist this all around. I don't really care. The fact that we, as a group, actually have bashers is very interesting to me.

We always wanted the site opened without much monitoring or rules. Unfortunately we have haters that made it impossible to keep the site the way it was. In the newly made rules on the site, it talks about hate speech. Well that has to do with bashing other posters. It's not like this site where you can be as ugly and hateful as you want. There is room for both I think. No we won't be editing posts. There is no tool available to do that at LiveFanatics. But we can delete posts that are hateful toward other posters. And we will if we have to. I hope to NOT have to use that option. Please go and read them for yourselves and make your own decision. No one can tell if you just read there. It's a community message board that comes free of charge to anyone from Microsoft Network. We can't even tell how many hits we get. I wish I could. It would be fun and interesting to know how many people are reading there. Not for any underhanded reason.

It's been my experience that people that think others are doing something are the ones you need to watch out for. It's akin to an adulterous marriage partner always thinking their spouse must be doing the same thing. Because they themselves are doing it. As a matter of fact. The yahoo group that is referred to on this page, does have a place right on their front page that tells how many page hits and who has come to even look. It will put your name right on it. So their barking up the wrong tree there, too.

Everything Vi said is absolutely correct. I started visting the BB when Kelly went on maternity leave (for the record, I really like Kelly). If you could have seen the politics and meaness that was there when I got there, you would understand where these ladies are coming from. I just know that these people are wonderful folks, and so much fun, it's too bad that it was polluted by a few 'bad apples'. At anyrate, I enjoy LiveFanatics...there are nice people there that never post anywhere else, and you don't have crazies there like "Preacher Larry" and drug pushers LOL!

It's stated in the Welcome message. I wrote that so that we would all know who we are dealing with. What would be the purpose of using another name? That would be confusing. I just wanted to urge everyone to use their real names and know that everyone is welcome to come there and join. Even if there had been problems before. After all there has been a long history and it really helps to know the players names. I'm the one with the problem with names. Leave Inky out of it. You seem to have a personal vendetta against her. And again as I wrote about before, there are outright lies being told. We are approving all applications. There have been at least 3 that I know of and all have been approved with no questions asked. Two of them have joined as new names that we didn't recognize at all. One of those is someone we do all know but she chose to use another name and she was approved with no questions asked. There is also one that used her regular board name. Which I appreciate because I have a problem remembering names and I'm glad she came back and I know who she is. Even considering that her and I don't always see eye to eye. I believe I've always been respectful.

That was put in there so that people we have known for a long time couldn't come there as newbies and talk about ancient history and then everyone is wondering who it is. Just like you are doing now. Saying you "know" us and then using a different name. Quite cowardly if you ask me. I thought it would stop all the worrying and wondering on our members side of it. That was all.

Why in the world would anyone want to go to a board where you have to be APPROVED first before you are allowed to post your opinions. Then, after you post them, the MANAGERS have the right to decide if your post has violated any of THEIR rules and they can delete, edit, move and censor the posts that don't conform to THEIR terms. What I respect most is the fact that the ladies whose names are familiar from the BB,

I tend to think that all of the basher names on this thread are the same bashers from the Regis board, except one. I was reading here long before you all arrived. So I have an idea of who are the regulars.

This is the same thing that happened at the Regis board. So I'm not at all surprised by any of this. Some people have such unhappy and boring lives that it make them feel better to try and make others look bad. It's really quite sad. I wish someone in your lives would pay some attention to you so that you could all feel better about yourselves and not have to do it by trying to hurt others.

Let me just say that they didn't have to open LiveFanatics back up but some people complained about it being restricted and about posters being banned. I personally like the idea of approving members because it keeps out the rift raft like most of the posters here! If you don't want to join I personally think that's GREAT because then I know I have a SAFE place to go and not listen to your sorry butts!

I think KJ, Viollettt and Inky are GREAT and your opinion of them doesn't matter because they have friends that love and care for them very much. They had a wonderful life BEFORE they ever "met" you and they will still have a wonderful life even if you aren't in it! You knew what I was saying. ;) And you are in people's lives when you post here because people come back to read the board and to respond. You make friends with some and some don't want anything to do with you. But my point is that through interacting with one another you become a "part of their lives". How dense are you that you don't understand that? YOU must be 5 years old because you don't seem to want to listen to what someone is telling you and you think you know everything. I also think they could give Kelly her own regular segment. After all, she is a co-host,

I posted on the LiveFAN board before I saw other comments there about Howie. So I guess I'm not the only one that thinks he would be a goldmine for Live! These segments are some of the most hilarious I've seen on the show.

The one with Joy and Art, from yesterday in the hot tub, is also a very good one. Even the second time I found that one funny. It would have been the best if it had really been a surprise for Regis and they had shown his expression.

Hi. I'm not going to comment on the "cult" discussion - because it's just pointless. I just wanted to make a quick comment to the posts that said they wished the board hadn't been opened back up to the public. I was one of the people who posted fairly regularly on the bb (and always tried to be respectful and bring a grain of niceness back to the threads that got out of hand). I joined LiveFANatics when someone on the bb posted the address and invited me. I read there all the time and posted occasionally when there was a thread I felt compelled to be involved in. (I have a 3 year old son, so I don't have time to be online that much to post more often). I was also one of the people who was banned from the club when the bb closed, and even though I understood that it wasn't personal, and that the managers just deleted the names of posters who rarely if ever posted, I felt bad about it. And I posted my feelings about it here - so if I had any impact on the decision to reopen it, I'm glad! And I did re-join, with my own name (this is my actual real first and middle name that I use on all message boards I've posted on), and received my welcome letter in my email box that I had been approved. I don't see what the hooplah is about having an internet club that you need an invite/approval for. I've seen what happens to those without these standards. I've been a member of another message board for about a year now(John McDaniel's site - Rosie's bandleader). It used to be a public message board, but there were people out there who couldn't handle that, and had to come with different names all the time and bash people and use foul language and just be downright mean. So you see it's the same everywhere! Eventually, John decided to move the board into the members only area of his site - which is for duespaying members only. I'm one of them, so I still get to post, and it made a world of difference because only true fans and nice people would shell out money - the mean ones wouldn't pay to be mean! So it's now a really nice group of friends that I enjoy hanging with when I have time. I think that's what happened here. These women became friends on the bb, but the yukkiness (for lack of a better term) became too much to sift through, so they created another place, and I have no problem with them trying to weed out the immaturity that is rampant on the net. Those posters that have such a problem with all of this are the ones they are trying to avoid - so, it is working!!!!!!!! Thankfully!

I have always been honest here and there, and will continue to do so. I won't ever engage in personal attacks, and I hope I won't be attacked for posting this. I will continue to read and post here, and on LiveFANatics and on the yahoo board (I'm a member there as well). And the thing about keeping the names the same - I'm in favor of that as well! It makes it easier to keep track of everyone, and it's not really fair of posters to post under several different names. It seems cowardly and confusing, and it's just an easy way for people to get their not so nice points across without being recognized. It's very easy to hide behind a computer screen to say mean things. Would you all say this stuff if we were all hanging out in someone's living room or in a restaurant having lunch?? I think not!

Sorry this is so long - I just had to make my comments. Mostly because I felt a little hurt by some posts that said they wished the site hadn't been reopened! I never did anything to warrant being banned, so I hope I'm not one of the ones who prompted that statement!!!!

Good Morning! I wanted to contribute my 2 cents...for what it's worth. I feel that my opinion is somewhat different, since I am a member of the OffTopic club, and not a member of LiveFanatics.
I give them credit for doing what they have done. It is a bold move. They had to get rid of some of their personal stuff in the club, and have opened themselves up to criticism, and bashing. As we have seen here. They are obviously looking to have differing opinions, and to welcome others.
I agree with their decision to monitor the board...after what transpired on the blueboard. It will make it a nicer place. I personally do not enjoy reading through nasty arguments, where namecalling and insults are rampant. Stuff like that can ruin a good day. I guess they feel the same.
Although I won't be posting there, due to the fact that I don't see how they can keep out that crazy zydeco/moonbeams person. ( I found posts by that person to be particularly offensive) That is for my own personal reasons, and allegiance to some very nice women at OT that were personally villified by that person. I do however know that there are many wonderful women that do post at LiveFanatics. They shouldn't be knocked in advance, just because they send out an invite. I also want to add that the OT site is closed to the public, for the same reasons that LiveFanatics has rules. Bad things happened to nice people, and friendships were ruined these last couple of months. They are places where people discuss personal things also, unlike this board, which really seems to stick to topic. They need monitoring...and rules...and approval to join. IMHO.
I wanted to give Maria credit, since she allows everyone entry, and her club is a nice place to visit. That won't work at the other two sites, since there are posters in both places that others like to attack. Why?... I don't know, but it's true.

Barrikim, I don't know you and honestly I have not read your posts as I skipped over 98 to 99% of the posts on the BB when it was open. I didn't say I wished they hadn't opened the LiveFanatic site I said if it was up to me I wouldn't have opened it back up. Let me just say this, if I had banned someone from the group and they were upset because they did not post much and they had not caused problems I would have invited them back and still had the site closed. There is good reasons to have a group closed as well as opened. I'm sure you are a nice person and my comments have nothing to do with you it was for the people who have been causing problems and they know who they are. I don't know if you were referring to my post or someone elses but I just wanted to clear my post up for you just in case. I'm glad it's open back up for those that really wanted to be a part of the group and have something positive to share....not the negative hateful posts that we see here and that were on the BB.

BTW, I was banned from LK's group because I hardly posted there. But I wouldn't be a member of that group again if they paid me. The reason I didn't post there was first I had a problem with my hotmail. Then when I got that "fixed" the addy for both sites changed and I didn't know it. I tried and tried to get to those sites and I couldn't. But then someone posted the addy on the BB and I got right in. Then I still had problems getting to LK's site and once again someone posted something on the BB with a link and I got right in. It was shortly after that that they closed down the BB and I got banned. My computer is a 486 and we don't have money like most of you out there to spend on a better one right now. I spend the money I have on my daughter and I make sure she has nice things. She has more things then we do! But my point is that at least we have a computer and it may not let me do some things or get into somethings etc. but it serves it's purpose and I'm thankful for it. But I was also banned for not posting at LK's site and all I have gotten from her is a snotty remark as to why she banned me and making sure everyone knew I had a old computer etc. So I do understand how you feel about being banned and left hanging out to dry and feeling like your feelings don't matter. But you know something, as far as LK's site is concerned, I've been kicked out of better places then that and I have other places to go that treat people better then that group does.

I hope you find LiveFANatics to be all you want it to be and I will say right here you wont get hostility or hate or anything like that from me.

When I put in my user name (for which I have never in over a year had any reason to hide behind another, change it or disguise myself as anyone else) it says that "spammers will be banned from this site". Huh????? I do not see anyone popping off the screen yet? Why is that? Shelly states that this is an open site and all with no rules..Well, maybe they do not follow the rules that they have put on here as well as other sites do. But "no spamming" is a rule...IMO. Shelly also mentioned "several times", over and over.... that this site is open for all opinions and no one here dictates what you think or say. Well, if that is so, then how come you told Tally to "tally-ho" since she did not AGREEE WITH YOU? Just wondering that is all. I laugh when people say one thing and do another and then point out that fault in others but not themselves... You have to laugh...it is quite funny. If you are an adult that went down that road so many years ago..it is funny to sit and see people that still do it... I think this thread started out very well by Inky. Very polite and full of nicely handed out info for the taking. Then the Shelly person turned it into a free for all bash..ya know,,,,what she accuses the Fanatics of coming here to do????????????? Then after all the bashing of Shelly, finally Vi speaks up and hets alittle upset - completely understandable,,,and this Borderline person points out Vi's post never mentioning all the ones before from Shelly????? Lets clarify...... Zydeco and Moonbeams - who was the same person????? resigned from the Fanatics this past weekend. I for one was glad to see that. I know what it is like to talk to someone on-line not knowing they are "THE" trouble maker you hid from on the other board....Very upsetting, if it happens to you then you will understand. Due to my experience in that topic...I for one am very happy the Fanatics are asking for you to use the sign on that everyone knows you as. WHY WOULD THAT BE A PROBLEM???? To a respectful, trustworthy, nothing to hide person - - why would that be such a bad thing to ask of you??????????????? I do not get that at all>????? I stayed away from the BB for weeks in a roll because of the Zydeco posting. I finally get back in the groove and get on this other board... Talk in Chat for hours with a ?moonbeams...just to find out she is Zydeco. I felt INVADED and TRICKED! That was not the boards fault. However, it made me very leary for the first time in regards to chat and message board posting. She resigned aftert hat - why? I do not know nor do I care. I will now stay there though. And I am PROUD of the Fanatics for opening up the board, posting rules and giving the "trust" issue another shot! My hats are off to those women. Shame on those of you who have bashed them for what they did, do or have done! Do not go to the site then. That would make many of the posters there probably very happy BTW!!I have always been etas123 - and will always be.. People that stay the same name are who I want to talk to and post with. The O/T board is a great board. The Fanatic board is a great board. The Yahoo club site is a great board..this one...I doubt I view again. I do agree that most at the Fan's are good ladies. They have a right to be cautious. It was a nice site, and I understand why they cleaned it up. I have no desire to go back. Geez I haven't even read OT and Yahoo in weeks. Have another life unlike some. Actually there is a Regis and Kelly board on AOL and it's a group of NICE, REALLY NICE people WHO DON'T BASH EACH OTHER.
