Regis mentioned that one of the television critics was trembling while writing her review of Rosie's last show. I watched it, and while it was good, and had some moments that brought tears to my eyes, it was not the big finale I expected. I know that a lot of you will disagree, but Broadway dominated the hour, which although nice, it was not the only thing I enjoyed about her show.
She had a good montage of family and the show set to music, and brought back some of the everyday people regulars that she had on in the past. The ending with Tom Cruise finally mowing her lawn and serving up lemonade was cute. Other than that, no really big surprises...which she is famous for. Yes, she gave out some awesome gifts to her staff, and had a mildly funny interview with Nathan Lane...the one big guest interview...I don't know what I was expecting, just something more I guess. Anyways, she will still be running new shows (taped) for the next few weeks.

I completely agree with you Scoops. I stopped watching Rosie a couple of yrs ago, although the first few yrs I loved. I watched today's show expecting much more too. I also teared up a couple of times, but overall, it wasn't the show I was expecting her to have. I thought the interview with Nathan Lane, while he made me laugh a couple of times, was totally inappropriate for morning television. I mean did we have to see that guy, naked to the waist, and hear the crude remarks Nathan was making towards him. It just made me queezy. The gifts she gave the staff were great, but the whole thing was kind of flat. She is such a caring, giving person, I wish her the best. Even though I stopped watching, I'll miss her.

I also, stopped watching Rosie, unless she had someone on that I really wanted to see. She just became a little too obnoxious for me. Although, there were times, especially right after 9/11, that she was good.

I thought the Nathan Lane thing was funny, but agree, a little raw for morning TV. I figured he enjoy the guy without the shirt on better than Rosie did!!!

I enjoyed the opening number with the cast of the different Broadway shows in it. Rosie really did alot to promote Broadway, so I thought that was a nice way to out.

I was surprised there weren't anymore tears. They should have had Bette Midler on yesterday, instead of last week, for the final show, I think.
