That the new "Red Dragon" is a remake?? Guess what's his face - Anthony Hopkins, will be on Live next week...

I "accidently" (from a gift box of paperbacks) read that book in the 80's and it really stuck with me.. Then the movie popped up on TV under a different name - but the plot and the original name certainly stuck...

I will be interested to see how this version differs, if in any way but cast..

----------------
Based Upon: The 1981 novel of the same title by Thomas Harris, which was previously adapted to film as the breathtaking 1986 thriller, Manhunter, directed by Michael Mann. In that film, Hannibal Lecter was played by Brian Cox, with William L. Petersen starring as Will Graham. This is the first in a "Lecter trilogy", followed by The Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal.
----------------
This may really be the best (or "worst" <shudder>) of the three...

PK -
Hubby read it a while back - I don't know if I can stomach it.
Guess I could if it's no worse than Hannibal.
Anyway, he liked it and is looking forward to the movie.

Ought to rent the first version.. Then you can see if you want to see the new one...

Both the book and the first movie were very powerful.. Wonder what they cut out of the movie for the network TV version?? <shudder, again>I may have to keep an eye out for it. I'm sure it will make the TV rounds again, soon.

PK,
Wasn't there a television series in the late 80's early 90's called Manhunter? I think that the main character on CSI, William Peterson was the star. I am pretty sure that it was based on the book.
Just curious.

Hmmm...

That probably would have been in the last network hour - which would have been the 10 o'clock slot on the east coast...

I never saw anything in that period that started that late - had to catch me earlier... One of us needs to Google it...<grin>
I do recall a series "Hunter".. ??
