What's your problem? You seem to want to get a rise out of everyone. Why? Just going down through the posts, I've noticed you seem to have a comment for just about everyone. You don't really have anything to say about the show, just negative comments about the people who post on this board. I thought this was a message board about Regis and Kathie Lee. What's your story???

I never posted anything negative to anyone else on this board (today). Exactly what is it that you want me to "grip"?

You want me to get a "grip" of how you can call Kathie Lee indecent?! Is that what you want Emme? Forget it.

Yeah, she can be annoying (can't we all) but she has done more charity work than most of us will EVER do in our lifetimes. If you could only see the difference she has made in the lives of the children that live in the two homes she started in NY (I have); I honestly don't know how you could ever describe her as indescent.

So Kathie Lee acted a little vulgar and used some colorful language....BIG DEAL! So do I and so does 8Ball...BIG DEAL!

Emme the best advise I could give you is to not take me so seriously (or personally). If you took me personally than I apologize. I am not too big of a person to admit that I am an idiot. You know what....BIG DEAL!

I would never be one to call what Kathie Mee does for charity indecent, no never. I would almost call it obscene and here is why. First of all, as a point of imformation, those two houses for crack-addicted and sick babies were not started by KMG, rather a woman by the name of Gretchen Buchenholtz who headed an organization called The Society to Benefit Children. The house that is now called Cody House was originally founded by her and renamed after Cody Gifford after Kathie Lee & Frank became involved. The issue that I find obscene is when someone makes money for themselves IN THE NAME OF CHARITY. Throughout the whole sweatshop scandal with KMG all you heard was that the reason she started her clothing line was so that Cody House and Cassidy' s Place would have a constant source of income - giving one the impression that ALL of the proceeds went to charity. In actuality the line made close to three million (strictly the Giffords take) the first year, of which the Giffords donated 100,000 to the charity bearing their son's name. It's no wonder that she would not close the line down - SHE would stand to loose too much. Granted they don't have to give anything to charity, however. I think it borders on criminal to put that kind of money in your own pocket while screaming that it is for charity. But this is just my opinion.

For a KLG hater, you sound like you know what your talking about. SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMtvtalkshows.com/messageboard/icon1.gif

I do have to differ with you on some of the dollar amounts you mentioned. I have seen different donation amounts (at least on the second home, Cassidy's Place).

Yes the initial idea and home were not originated by Kathie Lee. She donated a large amount of money to the first home and it was later renamed to Cody's House (possibly the initial $100,000 like you wrote).

The second home was built mainly from money that Frank and Kathie Lee raised through charity events, the clothes line and donations from their own personal incomes (MUCH more than $100,000).

Besides providing a home for the children (most important) the homes were established in hopes that other caring people would start similar homes in their own areas across the country.

I DO agree with you (in general) when you wrote that "I think it borders on criminal to put that kind of money in your own pocket while screaming that it is for charity."

There are so many organizations and entrepreneurs that raise money in the name of 'charity' when in all reality the majority of the money raised is squandered on 'administrative salaries and overhead' and the lavish 'benefits' (charity balls, golf tournaments etc.)

I'm not trying to convert anyone to a Kathie Lee fan. I personally admire anyone that stands up to the critisim (she's had more than her fair share) and faces adversity with a fight. Which I feel she did when the whole 'sweat shop' issure exploded.

There were other celebraties that were accused of the same exact 'social crimes' Kathie Lee was (namely Michael Jordan) at the same time. The others chose to ignore the accusations, but Kathie Lee faced them 'head-on'... all the way to Washington D.C.

I know I'm rambling...I just appreciated reading your well written and intelligent post, Roxy.
