Mr. Philbin,
I know this is not a topic that is usually discussed on your show but, I know you are someone who cares about the issues of this world. I am hoping you will care about this. Enclosed is a letter I have been sending to the tv stations and newspapers in the FL. area. This is concerning an article I read in a newspaper about a little boy who has Autism and needs a spine operation. His parents want the operation done in Boston but, the Medicaid office doesn't want to pay for an out of state surgery. I am writing because, I am living a similar situation and I know of other parents who are facing the same dilema. I am talking about the plight of our children. Our children who are in need of medical and or psychiatric care and do not receive for one reason or another. My son is seven and in this short time he has been placed in three psych. hospitals. The doctors have diagnosed him with a form of Autism and Chiari 1 Malformation. However, none of these diseases explains why my baby is so aggressive. We have seen drs. all over the state of FL. I contacted Gov. Jeb Bush, I received no answer. I contacted the Oprah show, I received no answer. I am searching for one person who will care about the children in this country. Unity begins at home, when does it start for the innocent ones? When are going to fight for our future, our babies? They may not be the strongest or the brightest, but they are still our future. Will you listen Mr. Philbin or will you turn your back like so many others?
