View Full Version : Anyone with half a brain......
Anyone with half a brain can clearly see that the other posts this morning by "vla" were made by someone else. I see they also took the time to register me. lol (What happened to my home in Hawaii?) lol
Silly me. Here I thought it was only fascination, but now it really is obsession......someone really wants to be me. lol
* Unbelievable....tried to send my message using my username (vla) and can't-----so, now I'll be V... from now on.

Well,I don't know who would be that "obsessed" with you.Certainly not anyone that I know.
You didn't by any chance have any family quarrels? That would explain alot!
(think I'll take my half a brain to the shower!...guilty as charged!)
I guess you must be the one with only half a brain then. lol Why are you trying to impersonate me? I think you are the one obsessed with me.

Whatever... It was nice while it lasted, but I do hope this is not going to be a repeat of the Zydeco Clones.. One of each is more than plenty...

Mornin' V,
You'd at least think they'd use your "style." Absolutely unbelievable. . .
Anyway, I saw the whole thing unfold right before my eyes very early this morning. Love Trevor's "hover and track" device.
Hey, how'd you like the "welcome wagon" greeting you got? First you're a no good so and so then you're greeted with open arms.
"Fascination and OBSESSION" -- I think the only two words that fit . .
Hi G,
lol I knew I ran hard this morning, but not hard enough to remember if I posted or not. lol Oy-vey.
Well, I did some quick sleuthing, (lol), and the "registered vla" didn't even post yet when they were welcomed with open arms. Pretty funny.
Oh well.
You really are something "vla".."V"? how original. lol You really are obsessed with me. You've been sleuthing? How pathetic can you get waiting for me to post. lol
PK...
06-07-2003, 04:56 AM
Well, your sleuthing evidently "sucks"...
Take another look at the front page... <<Welcome to our newest member vla>> Right at the top..
No wonder there was confusion. I was momentarily confused, until I read your.. uh.. vla's first post..
;0))
PK
Good one PK! We all know who the real vla is and of course it's me! By the way is this the Regis and Kelly board or the Regis and Kathie Lee..I mean Kelly Lee board? lol
Oy-vey.
OK, here goes:
the "new" vla registered, did not post, but was quickly welcomed. (welcomed, I might add, by someone who expresses her dislike for me on a daily basis).
I'm out of here....before the rain comes. lol
PK...
06-07-2003, 05:26 AM
Well, dear V...
You shouldn't judge EVERYONE by what YOU would do... Most people here are willing to be open minded. Perhaps you DID have a change of heart, about registering, at least.
LOL, I thought, perhaps it was the new label for "guests" calling them Registered Trolls..
I'll be sure to remember that and "try" to hold a grudge as long as you do.. Not sure I'm capable of that, though...
Goodness, seemes it's a fine line to walk, here... Excuse Me is grumping about not being welcomed warmly, and you, on the other hand are grumping because you were.. Sigh...
;0))
PK wondering if there is a new label for 300 posts - I will soon see...
Uh..okay..whatever you said. lol Hmmm I think the majority on this board dislikes vlanj.
You really need to stop calling me "new" vla because you're the confused one. You know I've always been here. lol
I think

I think the conspiracy theory is alive and well, and still uppermost in the minds of the dangerous duo... Paranoia Reins Supreme.
I think, I would love to take credit for this gag... But, I don't have any idea who this person is... And I was fooled as well... (Briefly, though, so perhaps I have almost half a brain...)
The IP addy is AOL, but I am not familiar with that prefix.. That's the trouble with AOL, too easy to hide, even which part of the country.
V... mentioned something about a house in Hawaii?? Perhaps SHE knows who this person is. If so, maybe she would care to share..
Curious you would bring that up though, sounds as if you have first hand knowledge..
I think you may be incorrect. I hesitate to say WRONG, because that is judgemental and much too rigid... There is not enough evidence to call you WRONG, but you are incorrect..
;0))
PK gets the blame and credit for everything around here.. Geez, I didn't realize I had that kind of power. Thank You, I think... Maybe I should incorporate?? Look what it did for Martha...

I would like to know what V, Gailsie, Pattyvic, Lisac, Susan think of Jillian now? If they bothered reading the HS interview. Like she gave her husband a blow-job on their first date? Yikes. The ladies went out of their way to say how vile Kelly is and one poster got nasty to Kelly fans for defending her. But it's a different story when Jillian talks openly about her sex life.
That's why it has to be personal.

Are you sure it's not one of your OTHER boardie pals? Please tell us, what is so fascinating about Vla that anyone would be obsessed with her?

tina, you didn't even read the article correctly--Jillian didn't talk about her first date with her husband--that was in reference to today's teen's..........yikes.......
and ledhead, I rarely, if ever, respond to your posts because they are so wacky, but WHAT are you talking about? Somebody registered under v's name--I call that some type of fascination or obsession--or even worse lol
Tina L.
06-07-2003, 11:14 AM
She did talk about her sex life (she is Jillian):
but then...
Howard, being more of a pig than most men, asked her if she was a "three imput woman," meaning
"Besides regular sex, do you give your husband oral sex and let him defile you anally, too?"
She smiled and said, "Of course. We do that a lot."
(Bart scratches his head...)
That's a little more than we wanted to know.

But, hey we, (not even YOU) really know whether she did or didn't, do we... Shoot, she may have, she may not have, She may have done more, but who cares, I'm not gonna condemn her for it, even if she did...

Did I give any kind of opinion about what Jillian supposedly said to HS? Are you mindreading again? Why are you making my opinions so important and giving me so much power? Why do you care so much about what I think about Kelly, Jillian, etc? Geez!
The bottom line to all of this is that V posted a link to a pic--you guys could have chosen to ignore the whole thing, but you have now been having a melt down for two days and counting! Funny stuff!
That certainly wasn't the first thing that came to my mind?
And fasination? I don't think so!!!

Well, whatever!!!

Melt down.... There you go again... I have been having discussions, I see puddles of wax all around me, though...

Correction... the better choice would have been to not make moral judgements based on what you THOUGHT the picture depicted without the facts...
Goodness, all this talk about "ignoring"... Yes, I see, that is what you are doing, now, I guess?? I can just imagine the lengths you three would have gone to go get this started, if you were ignored altogether... My, my, my... It did take some additional button pushing to get things really rolling, though, didn't it..

<<I would like to know what V, Gailsie, Pattyvic, Lisac, Susan think of Jillian now? If they bothered reading the HS interview. >>
I haven't read the interview but I wouldn't mind doing just that. I love reading about the GDL crew....only wish I could get my hands on that Los Angeles Magazine they were featured in recently. May have to spring for a back issue since we don't get that one in our area.
I love the way Jillian talks....she has wit to spare. She just has a knack for making things really FUNNY. She talks fast, gets a ton said, has an opinion on everything. I'm sure she runs with a fast crowd (although she claims to be quite the homebody), and was able to keep Howard Stern's audience happy. If Kelly were working for Fox or someone other than Disney, and was still childless and divorced/single ala Jill, she'd be right there with Jill, giving interviews to Howard, fielding offers from Playboy, Maxim, all of those. Kelly is working for a family outfit and needs to portray that image. I have no doubt she'd love to get down and dirty and a little wild at times.....can't blame her. This is my main complaint for Kelly....she's not a good fit with Regis. But as long as she's with Regis, the tabloids are going to try to embarrass her.
I was actually thinking, the tabloids probably don't report on Jill because she's not big enough yet, and also because they couldn't get a rise. She'd be there with Dorothy on Tabloid Thursday, celebrating because they made a tabloid! Holding it up for the world to see!
PK...

Susan...
If you recall, our first confrontation was about your putting words - Perhaps not in peoples mouth, but in their mind...
You are once again thinking for Kelly... That doesn't work for me...
And you are interpreting the tabloids... Nor does that...
Unless you have some sources you are holding close to your vest, and care to share, you need to qualify your statements a lot more than you do... for me to sign off on them.
As far as the Jillian article goes, hey, it is there, read it, and then find the original, if you don't feel the words are right... Google works...
Verifying sources is necessary, before signing off on anything..

PK hoping Jillian passes your muster...

Doesn't Disney own shows like NYPD Blue? Just because one works for Disney doesn't mean they have to Pollyanna. From what I hear Kathie Lee used to talk openly about her and Frank's sex life. She used to call him a sex machine? Didn't she go braless on Live? When she filled in for Letterman, some guy in the audience threw a bra at her. So it's not a family show.
Some critcs say GDL won't last another season. Then you can catch Jillian Barberie on the FOX sports show.
Tina L.
06-07-2003, 04:47 PM
Did anyone catch what Jim Carrey said? It was his first time on the show and he said "I had to wait until it had a fan base!"
Over the last couple of years some of the stars that came to the Live studio for the first time were Tom Cruise, Bruice Willis, Madonna, and Jim Carrey. Either they didn't care for KL or since Kelly came abroad, it's the first time they can afford such big stars!
Susan... Why would you even reply to this thread, if you didn't read the interview???
That seems liked you just don't want to take the time to read it, or you are afraid of what it might say????
You know, if you really Like Jillian, you just might want to read what the interview was about.
Just like the whole board had to read what the Vla posted about Kelly, on her entranced back from her vacation!
Susan
06-07-2003, 08:03 PM
You are all correct, I will read the Howard Stern article and then post.
PK, I don't feel like putting JMO on everything. But please know that everything I say is "just that." I am speculating, speculating, speculating like mad. No sources here. That's not so bad, is it? We all speculate. I'm inferring from things Kelly has said and from what I see when I watch, and what I read.
Who said Disney is not family all the time? That person is right. But Kelly's people, or her employers, or whoever, seem to be spinning her as a family gal and I'm just saying, that's going to whip the tabloids into a frenzy. They will want to knock her down a peg. Plus....she sells! People like her are their bread and butter.
Tina, please post where you read that GDL won't last another season. I would be interested in that article. Don't you agree that there's a place on TV for both Live! and GDL? I definitely think so! I LOVE that we have these choices!

Ok, I'm back. I thought I was going to read some kind of transcript from the Howard Stern Show. Who is bartcop (and where is his spellchecker when needed?)? And who is Jillian Barbieri? Any relation to Paula Barbieri, O.J.'s friend?
Ok, let's just assume that the whole thing is legit, Jillian BARBERIE really said those things to Howard Stern, (oh, who is Bob? Her ex is Bret)....I'm ok with it. From the little I've seen or heard of Howard, it was well within the context of his show. Again, Jillian likes her bad girl image, it seems. I'm sure young guys like that about her. Not being a guy (or really very young for that matter!!), I watch the show for a different reason....I love the fun stories they all tell, and their interaction with Steve (who I swear gives off a Larry David vibe....V or G, don't you see it? or is it just me?)
Carry on....

Hi again Tina,
I DID catch when Jim Carrey said that. It was a funny comment, but somewhat sarcastic. He made the same comment on another show, I don't remember which one.
Just doing a little damage control on your post. I believe there have been many stars who appeared with Regis and Kathie Lee over the years, but have not been back. However, I wouldn't blame that on Kelly. I doubt that the stars care much who the host is, but you know their publicists look for shows with the right demographics.
I'm not sure, but I think guests are paid "scale" to appear on R&K, or any talk show for that matter. Anyone know for sure? So I think someone like Caroline Rhea is paid the same as Jim Carrey for an appearance, maybe a few hundred dollars?? I think I read this somewhere, but it's been a while. They are definitely not doing it for the money, only for the money their project will make from the exposure.
GDL surprises me with the guests they get, considering their ratings. They do really well with guests! Their young demographics must help, and the fact that they're in L.A. gives them access to so many more people in the business.

Sorry, PK. You will just have to ignore me then. I try to be civil about it.
Wow, 0.5 is not good. I do remember you posting that now. I don't see how they stay on the air with those numbers, let alone draw good guests. Although Lisa always mentions that The View stays on with really low ratings.
Anyway, with R&K's ratings so good, and GDL's so low, I'd think you'd cut us some slack for chatting about them. R&K seem to have nothing to worry about. I think the least of Gelman's worries is GDL or me chatting about them.
ledhead
06-07-2003, 09:49 PM
I don't see how they can stay on the air either with a .5 rating, but what I really don't understand is how they can be on the air for what is it, 3 HOURS? Or is it 4? Is it on a major network?
I really don't know much about the ratings, but it sounds like GDL is on WAY too long for the kind entertainment that is described here. Glad we don't get it!
Susan

Hi Ledhead,
Good Day L.A. is on for two hours in L.A. from 7-9, then it becomes Good Day Live and is on for one more hour. So a total of 3 per day. It's a syndicated show, just like R&K, but seems to be most closely aligned with Fox. It's on our Fox affiliate here in Seattle. The two-hour Good Day L.A. show is top rated in L.A., beating even the Today show. That may be why they have high hopes for it nationally and are giving it a chance to catch on?

Tina L, I think you're reaching for straws when you say the big stars are coming on because of Kelly. Maybe the segment producers are trying harder to get the bigger stars on to get more people to watch the show when they didn't need that in the past? Personally getting Madonna on is no big deal. She's someone who needed more publicity.I don't think they are coming on because of Kelly's interviewing skills. The few times I've seen the show, well Kelly needs to learn some things about how to be an interviewer. But she can get better. Why do you have to put KL down in order to pump Kelly up? And if you're going to put her down at least get the facts straight. She called Frank a love machine and it didn't have anything to do with sex. It was because he would be diapering a kid while he was cooking after being up all night coming home from a football game. She often had to explain what she meant because people would get the wrong idea. She also said she didn't go braless but wore only flimsy ones because she wasn't comfortable. Personally, I think she did that only after Frank had his fling and was insecure or didn't care at that point what anyone thought. She never discussed her and Frank's sex life in detail on Live. She might have mentioned she got lucky of something to that effect but that's it. So, be high on Kelly but leave KL out of it.
stephanie
06-08-2003, 04:02 AM
I do agree that to the guests, the hosts really don't matter much. They go on the talkshows to get publicity for their upcoming book/movie/show/etc. The only time I think the hosts really matter is if a guest truly HATES a host and therefore, may stay away from that show.
I also agree that putting one person down to make you feel better is absurd. Happens a lot around here- on all sides.

Oh, my gosh, this thread keeps getting more and more bizarre--
Now we're supposed to worry about whether PK "signs off" on our posts? Good grief!
Tina, Live doesn't pay anybody more than anybody else to appear on their show, in fact, I don't think anybody gets paid anything at all-unless it's some type of scale, per SAG rules-- if anything, most big stars, and just about everybody for that matter, are appearing to plug a move, appearance, etc. and they should probably be paying Live a fee for allowing them to appear on the show lol
S, you are WAY TOO NICE to some on this board! But I guess that's one of the things we love about ya :)
I thought GDL was the number one talk show in LA. That's huge--no matter what their rating is nationally. And I'd be willing to bet that the fact that they're on live at 9:00 am on the west, and so that means 12:00 noon in a lot of places, has a lot to do with it.
Yes, it is too bad that so many don't have a lot of enthusiasm for Live anymore.......
Guess I'd best put a JMO on this post--hope it gets signed off on--- rofl

bigklfan, Where did I say big stars come on because of Kelly's interviewing skills?! I said either they didn't care for Kathie Lee or Live can afford it now because the ratings in the women 25-54 are a lot higher. You might have seen the articles saying Live audience is getting younger...and that's a good thing. How do we know you haven't been posting anonymous bashing Kelly all the time? You have AOL. I can count on one hand how many times have I said something against Kathie Lee. Certainly far from obsessively bashing her.
Susan I recall a blurb that PK wrote from Mediaweek saying GDL might not make it back next Sept. Live has been beating them in the LA market now.

Tina L,
Thanks for the clarification regarding GDL not lasting another season. I remember seeing something where a couple of shows were "on the bubble" (of cancellation) and GDL was not one of them. Needless to say, I was happy about that!
<<Live has been beating them in the LA market now.>>
I went to Mediaweek to read the whole article, PK's excerpt had me curious. As I recall, it said GDL used to be on at 10:00 in L.A., did well, and they switched it to 9:00 to compete with the strong Live!. Live! beats it at 9:00, but I'm sure they are up for the challenge of overtaking Live at 9 in L.A. It's a testament to the suits' faith in GDL that they switched it to take on a strong show like Live!. JMO JMO JMO (I realize that some could argue that they figure it's a throw-away show if they put it on against something long established, but I don't feel that way)
PK...

Well before this thread completely in the toilet..
I posted the blurb and I remember what it said... It said since GDL had moved to the 9 AM spot, it was coming in second to R&K, and Fox was delighted with that placement.. Foxes expectations in Daytime, are not as high as the major networks... Or they shouldn't be, so I'm sure GDL will be around..
I am also sorry that trying to have a somewhat serious conversation with someone and trying to make sure that each knew just what the other meant got turned into a farce, as usual...

Tina, I have never posted and will never post under any othr name than Bigklgfan. There is no way to know for sure so you'll have to take my word for it. You seem to be fairly new to this board so I'll repeat this again. I've only seen the show a few times since KL left. I do also see blurbs of it on the entertainment shows like ET and Extra, etc. I do not bash Kelly because that wouldn't be fair. I don't watch the show to bash or not to bash.(That is the question!!!)As far as I'm concerned the show ended(for me) the day KL left. Just like the show would end for some of you if Kelly were to leave. The show does not pay it's guests big money no matter who it is. If they get paid at all it is scale which is about 300 bucks. Yes, the show has gained alot of younger viewers because of Kelly being so young and also fans of AMC. But It has also lost alot of older viewers. The ratings are about the same. In my opinion the stars go on shows to promote things whether they like the hosts or not.
FYI, Bruce Willis was supposed to be on the show in Cape Canaveral when Armegeddon came out but that's when he and Demi split up so they cancelled the whole location shoot.(I had tickets) Tom Cruise only went on Rosie and Oprah when KL was on Live. But she did interview him when she was on GMA and that went well. Saying the big stars are coming on now because of KL not being there and Kelly there for that matter is just plain wrong.
