I was hoping for Reege to give an update on Ashley during host chat. Maybe he mentioned it later in the show...did I miss anything?

Reege had some fun stories to share....even Kelly had a cute story about Michael and the "junkyard." But, one cute little story isn't cutting it. lol Good thing Gelman continues to "cut out" the cut outs. lol

Hi v-

Nope, don't think there was an update about Ashley. Regis sure does know how to entertain with a story, though (or two or three or four lol). Fun stuff. Good host chat.

Didn't really catch the rest of the show but caught a glimpse of Miss Universe. What a stunner. Regis seemed enamored as well-- lol. Most men loooovvve tall women. Will never forget the time he called Kelly "stumpy". oh, geez.

Did he say that Kelly actually went around the AMC set comparing herself to Oprah? Oy.....lol

>>>Did he say that Kelly actually went around the AMC set comparing herself to Oprah? Oy.....lol>>>>

Yup. You heard right. Kelly is Oprah and Rebecca (someone from AMC) is Gail King. What a hoot! lol

How about when Regis asked if Kelly really did say that and Kelly said "I don't work there anymore." Ahh, but Regis persisted and Kelly finally admitted she did.

I wasn't in the room when Miss Universe came out.....she's really that pretty? How'd the interview go?

Rebecca Budig is the one who first mentioned that "Kelly is Oprah and I am Gale King" in a SOD last year so it's probably just a joke between them.

Eden R. (Bianca) mentioned in an interview last year that Kelly was the most outgoing person at AMC. She went on to say "She's friends with everyone. You can usually find her in the dressing room joking around."

Oh, it's a "joke", alright. lol

Which character is Rebecca?

Here is the part what Eden Riegel said about Kelly from soapnet.com "Thursdays With The Stars" transcript dated Jan. 17, 2002:

who in the cast is most outgoing and who is the shyest????

I think Kelly is the most outgoing. She's friends with everybody. You'll always find her in hair-and-makeup just chatting with people. Nobody is really very shy.

I personally thought that is was in bad taste for Regis to bring up an inside joke between Rebecca and Kelly that Rebecca chose to let Regis in on,on air.
In the way he said it,that Gail was "the one that didn't make it"was uncalled for and kind of derogatoty to Gail.

He doesn't stop and think sometimes ,just opens his mouth.I guess that is one of the downfalls to being on Live TV but still that was unnecessary. He didn't have to add that line.

V..

<<<"the one that didn't make it">>>

He did say that? I wonder if that was part of Kelly's "I'm Oprah and you're Gail King" mantra, or if he added it on his own.

I agree, that's an insult to Ms. King, no matter if he repeated it or added it himself.

I'm not so sure it was an insult. Gail had a talk show, but it was cancelled soon after it started. She "didn't make it" as a talk show host. No big deal, I'm sure she's over it, and working somewhere. I've seen her on Oprah before, she seems like a very grounded, very upbeat person.

<<<< I've seen her on Oprah before, she seems like a very grounded, very upbeat person.>>>>

I agree, L. She has a great personality, of what I can make out on the screen---and seems like she's loads of fun.

That wasn't my point LisaC.

Glad to see that someone "got it"
Thanks V...

It was unnecessary whether it was MEANT to be an insult or not(which for the record I don't think Regis meant it to be ,it just came out before he thought about it,at least I hope so).

Gail works for O as an Editor -- she's doing great I would suppose.

Morning everyone!! I see the Trolls are alive and well today! Anybody remember the title of this thread? I would've liked to hear how Ashley is doing too! He's a real cutie!! I hate to hear that he's not doing well. Poor kittie!! Poor Reege!

Oh BTW, I don't think Regis did so bad mentioning the "inside joke", it wasn't that big 'o deal, IMO. That's what kind of show Live! is, off the cuff, that's why I like it. It's unplanned joking around having fun with someone you enjoy being with. If he's as miserable as some say, it wouldn't work and no one would watch it. Okay, now I got off topic, I guess it's catchy, isn't it?

Carry on!

I think it was a nice tribute to both Rebecca and friendship... Gail is Oprah's best friend. They are the epitome of best friends, and goodness knows they tease each other - on national TV, no less..

That Kelly and Rebecca are close, is a good thing. What's the big deal? I'm not quite sure what the accusation on this one, is supposed to be.. Slim pickings today, I guess..

;0))

<<Most men loooovvve tall women.I will never forget the time he called Kelly "stumpy" oh,geez>>

Funny, you bring that up.I remember Regis saying that he did not care for tall women. He said something to the effect that they made him nervous if he had to look up at them.(since Regis is short himself,I would say that it would have to be alot of the time!)I was wondering if he would mention it during the interview when they spoke of Miss Univ's height...

I also wonder if he calls Joy "stumpy" as she is not very tall and is a little on the short side as well as petite.

I still say that I personally would rather be short and petite then to be tall, lanky and well....nevermind it's JMO.

Sorry to take this in a totally different , kind of depressing direction, but I think my cat, Chief...the one with all the problems, is on his last legs (literally)...if you don't hear from me for a few days, it's because I may have to do the unthinkable. His hind legs are failing, he can barely get in and out of the litterbox...he is not eating his usual amount, and drinking lots of water...I think his kidneys are going too. He is talking a great deal too...all night long. I can't seem to do any nursing that helps.

I know, it's just a cat...not a person, and we have all been through this, but I have had him for 17 years, and cannot imagine life without seeing his little face every day. This thread about Ashley reminded me that I have to face the facts, and do the right thing. Sigh.
I will let you animal lovers know what happens.

Scoops I am so sorry to hear that. The cat is part of the family, another member so it is very understandable on why you are upset. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and please let us know how you are doing. Feel free to talk anytime you want, maybe give us some favorite stories? We are all here for you, take care and hope to hear from you soon.

Scoops, I am so sorry about your cat. I recently lost my two Siamese at 18 and 19 years of age. My comfort was in knowing I gave them all the love and care available all those years. They were truly members of our family and brought us much joy. Maybe your cat will turn around for the better, but if not, just remember the wonderful life you provided.

Aw, Scoops... How sad..

I can't add anything to what has been said... It's one of those "hard" decisions in life..

And just the other day we were enjoying your "comically graphic" descriptions of his care.. Glad we got to know him a bit..

PK blinking them back, and not succeeding.. There's just something about a cat..

I am so sorry about your cat Scoops. It breaks your heart to see them sick.

We just went thru something similar with our dog.We had her from the time she was 6months old until she died at 19y/o.It was sad for the whole family.

I was curious to know if you had your cat checked for diabetes as I know that when they start drinking a lot of water like that ,it is a sure sign of it,and the barely eating and losing weight quickly follows.

Take care, again I am so sorry.

thinking about you scoops; had to do similar with our dog after 11 years. Didn't put her to sleep, but had to let her just die peacefully one day- long story short- her throat was closing up and there wasn't anything they could do.

As the owner of mannnnnnnny cats, I can tell you that it isn't even how long that matters, just that something happens.
I find myself attached to each and every kitten we have. Then when something happens, or if they are lovingly adopted, I am still torn up.
It is hard to give up a part of your life and that is exactly what happens when one of your pets die. Part of your life goes with them.
Knowing that you loved him dearly should be helpful to you. I know that I am comforted when ever I look at pictures of my former "friends" and smile when I think of all of the joy we shared.
God bless you and your cat Scoops.
Sandy
