He totally cracked me up when he embarassed Kelly about the Hamptons.. LOL, he was relentless.. Cracked Kelly up, too...

Fun host chat..

I am enjoying the dating thing a little better now.. Funny, Ethan Zohn does absolutely nothing for me - seems pretty boring.. Then again so did his date... <ouch!>

Big Tigger, though, is a cutie. Wonder how that will go..

;0))

I agree I thought the hummer comment wasn;t necessary either. He should just take the hummer out for a date LOL.I am not an Ethan fan at all.Tigger's date should be interesting to see tomorrow.Hope everyone is having a good day.My daughter is out with her church group for the day....awwwwwwww and son is still in bed so I am being lazy and just enjoying a "free"day for now.

I have to agree, Regis was in rare form today! I wonder what they put in those meatballs last night at Rocco's? He was his grumpy old self today!!! He was very funny. Telling Kelly, she didn't belong in the Hamptons, and everyone kept asking him, why was she there. He told her, she belonged on the Jersey shore!!! She acted horrified, that people were asking this, of course, it all started when he showed the picture of her with P.Diddy in the Hamptons magazine.

Then, he was even grumpy with the Trivia caller, when she wanted to say hello to all of her relatives. He asked her, did she really want the prize!!!

Funny Host Chat!!! I enjoyed it!

Yes,host chat was very funny today. But I don't think Regis was grumpy, just enjoying his self today.Gotta love Regis and the way he is,that;s why I watch and think others do too.Kelly looked like she was feeling better too.I sure hope she is anyway.

Loved Host Chat, but....

FIFTEEN DOLLARS for a plate of spaghetti with 3 measly meatballs????

I'd say he got taken....it's got to be cheaper to drive to NJ to get food than pay those prices!!! :)

I'll make him spaghetti for heaven's sakes.....

Maybe grumpy was the wrong word for it. He was definetly in his character, that everyone impersonates him as. Whatever the word is they use for it!!!

PK... what is the word they use?

I'm not all that impressed with Ethan either, but I've never been a fan of Survivor either. (Ducking to miss the flying tomatoes being thrown in my direction). Ethan reminds me of Michael Lawry? (guy who played Jake Martin before Eddie Peck), and I really thought he looked like a wuss, and seemed to make Jake Martin seem like a wuss too.

Wow! I didn;t hear where Regis payed $15 for spagetti,I wouldn;t pay that for sure. Can make it cheaper than that. Not a survivor fan here either, never have watched it and don;t plan on watching it either,if it comes back again. So guess I should start ducking too LOL.

By New York pricing, that's not too expensive. It sounded like he really enjoyed his meal.

DKLA
07-29-2003, 08:36 AM
...also not too high for Los Angeles either.

$15.00 does sound like alot for Spagetti but it is more expensive to eat in New York, plus I wonder about the quantity?

For those that are Survivor fans, the new one starts sometime in September,

Did anyone watch yesterday? I taped it since I am a huge Henry Simmons fan, I love NYPDblue- did anyone hear what he got his doctorate in?

PK...

MCD...

Would you be thinking of curmudgeon? Affleck calls him the nicest "outraged" man in the world, or something..

Monica, that interview was pre-empted in NYC, so I didn't see it..

The trivia caller hit the wild and shocking today, and took the hint cause part of the show was pre-empted in PA as well... The question was about Simmons, and she won because of the hint..

Did I miss something in the news since it was prempted in some areas? Did they show the memorial service?

It was a fun interview with Henry, he asked Kelly if she was single, then he and Regis started talking about New York and schools- when Henry mentioned that over the summer hiatus from the show he received his doctorate, there was such loud applause that I could not hear what he said- no biggie just curious. He seems so down to earth, he used to be a doorman or something like that before he got the NYPDblue job.

yeah, I didn't see any of the Henry Simmons interview except the goodbye. Knew he was on a soap, but couldn't remember which one- hint would have helped me too.

Rather unfair question- Gelman had to have known part of the show was preempted- maybe ask a question from the very end or very beginning... depending on where the caller was from. For example, west coast- probably not preempted at all; east coast saw at least the end.

PK... That was it.... His Nice "outrage" You know... when he starts yelling, but, really isn't!

He comes off being sort of mean. But, that is just his act. He kind of yells, and gets this little excited look in his eyes!!! It is really funny to watch him, when he gets hyper!!

Monica... I don't think you missed anything... Just that they pre-empted in NYC, for news about Bob Hope.

Hello Everyone!

I too enjoyed host chat today!

Regis was cranky, but at times when he is not too cranky I like him that way.

Thought the comment about the Hamptions was hysterical as well!

I am not a fan of Ethan's, but he was adorable today! That date looked great! Wish I could have been on it!

Also, loved Styx! I am am fan of them so I was excited they were there!

Host chat has been good this week IMO!

Loved Kelly's story about Michael and the carnaval! That kid is adorable!!

Really enjoyed host chat today. Thought Kelly's story about Michael exchanging his prize for two stuffed animals for Lola and Jamie Gelman was adorable. What a sweet boy.

That was really sweet wasn't it??? It is nice to know, that parents, even celebrities, can teach kids values, and manners, and what is really important. Great to see that he already knows this at his young age.

I also liked it when she told Regis, he wasn't going anywhere, because she had 3 kids to put through college!!! I thought that was pretty funny!!

MCD,
That was funny. I think Kelly knows what side her bread is buttered on. I have a feeling though that if something happened and there was no more Live. (I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon) that Kelly would do just fine.

Hi Tink,
If you don't mind, just what did Reege say to Kelly about the Hamptons yesterday? I didn't catch the show, because I was -- IN THE HAMPTONS! lol

We had a great day.

Sounds like fun, g--say some nice pics of Kelly and Gelman at the Bridgehamton Polo Club (I think that's the name)--will have to remember to tell Susan when she gets back--it's a nice pic of Gelman lol

oh, and Mark bought a new shirt!!

gailsie
07-30-2003, 10:55 AM
lisac, I did notice Mark got a new shirt, but now Kelly has picked up his bad habit. Looks like she can't get rid of that black bra. Hope she at least gives it a rinse between polo matches and Live! lol.

Btw, had coffee and brownies at Barefoot Contessa, yum!
(Didn't see Gelman or the Ripas, lol)

Gailsie--
Any details on Barefoot Contessa? I live in Louisiana, and have never been, but I love her show on the Food Network, and they have shown her shop on a few episodes. It looks unbelievable! Lucky you for going.

Gailsie-

Regis was teasing Kelly saying that she left the NJ shore for The Hamptons when she really didn't belong in the Hamptons. Kelly played along with Regis saying "really, I don't belong there?" Regis would reply "yes that is what everyone is saying. But, I tell them that I can't do anything about it. She is already out there." Then Kelly started pretending to believe Regis and was pretending to get upset (in a funny/nervous way because she said that she had sweat beads on her back)"OMG, who is saying that? I can't believe it. I am going back to the NJ Shore. My worst nightmares just came true. Feel my back I am sweating." Then Regis would say "yes well you should be embarressed you don't belong there."

It went on and on from there......but you get the gist. And, of course I am paraphrasing, but again you get the gist!! LOL

Hope that helped!

Thanks Tink, that sounds pretty funny. I'm sure Kelly took it in the spirit it was intended. Sounds like she played along, lol. Wish I knew where their house was, we did go sight-seeing along what I would call millionaire's row. Think I spotted Martha's house, the one on Georgica Pond that's up for sale.

Would also love to know which part of the Hamptons Gelman and family live.

"a fan" I have to say I was a bit disappointed in the 'store' itself. I was expecting to be able to sit at a little table and have a sandwich, etc. but no such luck. The store is very tiny (seemed much bigger on TV and in her cookbooks, lol) and they only have pre-made sammies all wrapped and in the fridge. The center of the store is where all her take-out stuff is; turkey meatloaf, green beans w/sesame seeds, roasted salmon, etc. you know, all the stuff from her Barefoot Contessa cookbook. Then on the other side of the store she has all her coffees and homemade breads. I love her coffee, so I bought some and a few other things (very pricey!) Bought a brownie and it was heavenly. They say her recipe is the real deal so I'm hoping to duplicate the taste the next time I need brownies, lol.

Oh, I also met Amy. She's in the book and was on one of the cooking episodes on TV. She's very pleasant and down to earth. Said she was 6 months pregnant when they filmed her at the store. The outside looks exactly like it does in her books, but the inside was a lot smaller than I expected. All in all though, it was great to get to see it!

Btw, do I "know you" by another name? lol

Gailsie--

Thanks for the info. It certainly does look bigger than that on the show. I saw her make those brownies the other day, and made a mental note to try them at some point. They looked amazing!

I don't have any of her cookbooks, but am thinking I should go out and get one. I've just always gotten her recipes off the Food Network website.

As far as "knowing me" by a different name, I hate to be slow, but is that a joke? I have never posted...enjoy R&K, but don't feel strongly enough about it to post. I do however, sometimes enjoy the banter (for lack of a better word) between the pro-Kelly and anti-Kelly factions. It makes for entertaining reading on a slow day!!

Tink... I think the whole "Hamptons" things started, when Regis held up the Hamptons Magazine, with a picture of Kelly and P.Diddy in it... He seemed to take it from there....

I think it appeared, that he was a bit taken back, that Kelly is getting all of the attention, with the Gelman's, in the Hamptons, and he is somewhere, in Conn., getting no attention... I guess, he will be the next one to move to the Hamptons!!!

That was just the way it sounded to me......

To 'afan'
I recommend "the barefoot contessa cookbook," I think it's her first one. But look for it at a discount store; you'll pay less.

There were two elderly "Hamptonites" looking at Ina's display of cookbooks and decided on one--until they saw the $35 price tag. Between the two of them, they had enough diamonds to buy the store, but $35 was out of the question, lol.

SavhLaney
07-30-2003, 06:41 PM
Guess that's why they could afford the diamonds, lol.

MCD
07-30-2003, 08:38 PM
Yes... I have always noticed, that people, that have money, are the most stingy!!! I have a few relatives that are that way... You would think they couldn't afford anything, and they are going to die, and never enjoy, what they could have, because, they won't spend a dime!!! Very, very, sad.....

The way I think is.... you can't take it with you, so... you might as well enjoy life, here on earth, because, I don't think it is going to do much good, were you might end up at...
