Hi guys, so glad to be home from work LOL But probably cannot be on the computer long, we are expecting storms tonight and tomorrow.
All the Survivors and their bios are on the CBS website
Have you seen any of the previews? The survivors are told to jump overboard and swim to the island, each tribe has their own island.
Apparently, the castaways were told to dress up for a dinner
party/press meeting (depending on which site you read), "then MB
makes them jump overboard with nothing but the clothes on their
backs. They then have to swim a half mile to an island village where
each tribe is given 100 balboa (about $100) to buy supplies. Drake
buys chickens, beans and rice, and four jugs of wine, but no bug
repellent, leading to the tribe being ate up with mosquitoes by the
next morning."
"There will be a lot of male nudity because no one buys any beach
clothing at the island village and they have to make due with what
they have. During the first challenge (hauling heavy cannons over a
300 yard course), most of the guys are stripped to their boxers and
during the muddy portion of the course most all of them lose their
undies. Probst says, "No matter how you look at it, guys look stupid
naked."
Now what happens to the supplies they did have, especially their
luxury items?

Ok more Survivor news:
One of the Survivors is Christy:
She's featured at The Smoking Gun right now. (SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMwww.thesmokinggun.com/archive/hastiemain1.html)
Apparently Christa is not only a cokehead, but a classic subtle racist.
From her post on alt.gothic on 6/2/1998:
"I say that I'm proud to be German and as white as a cloud! And don't call this person a f**king Nazi! Hitler and the Regime killed off Jews...and they're white as your ass! Screw everybody else who can't accept this....perhaps it's their low self -esteem speaking out from that dark corner..Geez,then you wonder why whites allowed to go
to "The Negroe College" in Alabama or some place like that...Why because they're sticking together...why do most devout Jews never marry out of their religion( race and culture also..)...my good jew friend would never marry me and it would be a day in hell that I'd marry him....because they stick together. Power to these people who
have so much pride in their race, religion etc. I still accept these people everyday and I'm not racist at all. I would say that I'm "preferenced", meaning that I prefer those with a certain personality as well as LOOKS including color. So yes, if you're
white - be proud...it doesn't mean you should join the KKK, it means love you for who u are...
Christa :-)"
Her orginal post on Google Groups:
SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMmakeashorterlink.com/?A589227C5
Also of note, from her college essay about why she's against affirmative action:
"Instead, most of the welfare recipients in California who don't even speak our native language of English, are receiving free health care, while my family loses everything we have."
Her full essay here:
SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMpub124.ezboard.com/fsurvivorsucksfrm1.showMessage?topicID=31851.topic
Now for my own opinion, I am hoping she is the first voted off! I know racists like that exist, but goodness it is what is inside a person, their heart and soul that counts, not their color or where they are from.
Ps I used to have Scoops email but I cannot find it, if anyone talks to her please tell her she is missed.
Whoa is me! Where do you find this stuff? See, I knew I could count on you for all the "insider" stuff. lol
* Re: their supplies.....Maybe they'll be a reward for winning a challenge. But what if you really need your luxury item.....hmm, very interesting indeed. lol
Thanks for the info.
* My doggies are sending hugs to Saba

Glad that there are alot of Survivor fans here!
V, I don't deserve the credit except for the copying and pasting LOL The first one I posted is at a club that I am a member of, the second one is at the smokinggun (which is the same site that found Arnold's interview from years ago where he talked about orgies and drugs).
Yes there is alot of information, should be a good season. I am still watching BB, but my favorites are now gone.

Hey Monica- Thank you for all the "Survivor" updates. That will be a site to see all of them show up there in their nicest clothes and then try to make do with what they have.
I watch "Big Brother", too. At first my favorites were Aly, Jack and David, who reminds me of a young Jim Carey. Now I don't like Aly, as she has used all her feminie wiles on everyone. I like Erika the most, with Robert a distant 2nd.

Here I am...Miss you guys too!!! Glad to see ya!
Oh I am into BB...have it online too, so if you want to know anything in advance...I can clue you in. My favorites were Justin and Jee, with Robert bringing up the rear...yes, I like the stooges...the girls are really foulmouthed and kind of mean (except for Erica). Robert took some heat for calling them whores and sluts, but they didn't take any hits for anything I have heard them say about the guys, and some of it has been terrible.
Ali has been just despicable, so she will probably win, somehow some perceive playing dirty as playing well...not in my book.
My preference would be for Erica and Robert to go to the end...I do think Jun is funny, but don't like the way she treated Jee in the end.
He was such a gentleman when speaking to Julie Chen and saying his goodbyes...oh well.
Wish they would have some sort of exciting twist...I mean, no offers of money to tempt them...no cars to win...no Sheryl Crowe concert...no visits by Survivor cast members...nothing...getting duller by the minute. Someone who claimed to be "in the know" posted on the BB chatboard that they would be sending two HG back in. I would just love that, although the current HG have said numerous times that they were promised there would be no returnees.
We will see.

Hi Lee, Welcome, not sure if you are new or not? It is great to see new posters. You are welcome on the updates, I enjoy my reality shows LOL But I do not care for knowing who is leaving ahead of time. Kinda ruins the suprise for me.
WooHOO Scoops is back!! Hi Scoops, I have missed you! I do not watch Live as much as I used to, actually I watch much less daytime tv now that ever before. But I did tape it today, I wanted a back-up for tonight in case I do not like Larry King's show tonight. It was great with Princess Grace's family on there as a tribute.
As for BB, my favorites are gone. Justin was my favorite, so was Jee and Jack. I do not care for Robert, he is always picking at something, his face, his nose, other bodily areas, I want to scream at the tv to take a shower or something LOL. I am guessing he wants Erika gone since she has not pissed off anyone. He will have a better chance at winning against Allison, well they all would. If she wins, I will scream, it would be as bad as when Vee from Survivor won. I do not understand why she is still there, and how can she say she loves her boyfriend when she was in the bed with David, and Nathan, and flirting with Justin? Maybe outside the house she is nice, but she just appears so trashy and slutty and I hope she does not win!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also do not care for Erika too much, didn't she say to Robert a couple weeks ago about trying to get him fired? I know that has nothing to do with the show, but still....
Ok done with my rant LOL

Hi Monica...great to know my Survivor buddy is still here! I am hesitant to ask, but I hope your precious Saba is still living the good life at your place. You were all so nice to me when Chief passed on...I will never forget that.
Just to fill you in a bit on Robert...from watching the feeds online..he takes really loooong showers, must be a clean freak...hence the picking....he is very loyal to the guys, even more so than Jee......the night he was in his tirade against Allison's defection/Jack's eviction, calling the girls sluts and whores, I dare say it was actually comical....
He and Jee were sitting outside...they would discuss strategy etc, then there would be a couple of minutes of pained silence...then you would hear Robert say..."whores....whores and sluts"...then he would go on about how the good guys can't win this game, siting former winners evil Will and Lisa, who he categorized as "same as Erica" whatever that means, and mentioning how nice Jason was last year and how he lost. Then, "whores...three whores" under his breath. Then he went on about what nice honest straight up guys Justin and Jack were...followed by "but they couldn't win, because you have to be a whore or a slut" lol I am sorry, I know it sounds awful but it was actually making me laugh out loud..it went on this way for about a half hour. I didn't think they would show it on TV, since they don't show half the disgusting things that Allison and Jun say, but they did...sort of the double standard backwards. They never showed that he apologized to Jee (while he was saying all that stuff), for his ranting, saying he was just angry at the girls and would get over it, but he needed to vent. He said the very next day that he did not mean to include Erica in his meltdown.
They also only had him saying that he wanted a Porsche and a Rollex if he got the money, but I hear him all the time saying things he would do for his daughter.

Hi Scoops! Just reading the bios and the favorites at CBS and posting them at a group that I am a member of....
Thank you for asking about Saba. My family was driving me nuts last week talking about Saba's age and her health, but I think they are trying to prepare me. I am hoping with lots of love, her fav foods and some walks she will live a few more years! I cannot imagine not having her in my life....anyways she is doing pretty good, her hearing is really starting to go but her appetite is good! She sleeps on the floor next to my bed, and I can get up in the morning, she will be snoring! But at least when she is in the yard, she will let the neighbors know that she is the boss! She desperately needs a bath but we have had so much rain lately, we are expecting 5-10 inches between tonight and tomorrow. Ok I am sure your tired of hearing about Saba and my weather. I can talk all night about my baby! How are you doing with your loss?
I am not sure what it is about the girls in BB, but I do not care for any of them. I am now hoping that Robert wins, he does seem scummy to me, is he on the live feeds? I did not care for him talking about who he knows last night. How is Erika? Did she try to get Robert fired? It is funny about how they edit these shows.

Sounds like Saba is doing well...that is wonderful news! I love to read about her so gush at will.
I am doing ok now, thanks for asking. I still haven't told my son...he thinks Chief is at the cat hospital...my son has sensory integration...which is a complicated thing, but anyways sensory kids have difficulties with processing change...especially major changes....he had such a fun great summer that I hate to tell him the truth...he is only 6, and evey day he would ask about Chief, I would try to lead up to it by saying not so good, or doing bad today, but then his eyes would fill up and he would ask me not to tell him anything unless it was good news...now of course I don't want to coincide it with the start of school...then it will probably be some other reason why I can't break the news... I don't want to be one of those mothers that perpetuates the living-dead pet lie, but that is what has happened so far. He thinks I visit Chief at night after he goes to bed. sigh...the tangled web.
Getting back to BB, Robert does have that scummy/car salesman side to him, but in comparison to Allsion he is a boy scout...at least he has a nice side... and yes, Erica did try to get Robert fired by calling his work and saying untrue things about him...Allison also is another vengeful woman who broke into Justin's room while they were going out. Guess you gotta be a drama queen to be on these shows. Allison spent a lot of time sitting around detailing her and Justin's sexual escapades to the guys...Jee was really put off by it.
I can only imagine what her mother and father think if they have been watching the live feeds..which I bet they have..yech.

Good Morning Scoops! Saba is doing well considering her age. Depending on what vet I ask she is either 11 or 12. I adopted her from the Human Society when she was a pup. What scared me a couple weeks ago is when we were playing in a large field behind my home. She was running really fast, and her back legs went out, and she fell to the ground. She acted fine afterwards, but her vet says besides Arthritis, she now has Degenerative Joint Disease. I still take her on walks, but not as far. She seems very happy, so that is the main thing. Plus my vet wants me to try Metacam, she thinks that it will help her joints.
How is your son doing? How is school? It must be such a difficult decision for you, to tell him about Chief, especially when his eyes well up with tears. I am sure that when the time is right you will tell him. I hope this is not a rude question but would you and your family consider adopting a puppy or cat from the Humane Society?
As for BB, I think I will be happy with anyone winning except Allison! I do not understand how people like this can win on these shows. But imagine the fun when we watch the jury members ask the questions, I am guessing they will ask questions right?
Have you read the bios and favorites of the Survivors? It looks like it will be a good season.
Talk to ya later, another busy day at work

Morning Monica,
Glad to hear that Saba is happy and out and about. What is metacam? Is it an antiinflammatory drug or a pain reliever? Chief's hind legs would go out once in a while also, but then he would go right back to normal too.
I would definitely have no problem adopting from the Humane Society, I actually belong to the local Animal Rescue League, so I am all for it. Both my cats were strays...I took em right off the street. The only problem with a new addition right now is my other cat Dottie. She is also 17 years old, and probably would not be very welcoming. She is very loving and gentle, but is a "hisser" to other animals. A new addition would horrify her I'm sure. lol
She is also very spunky and peppy, so she has a few good years left I hope!
Going to check out the Survivor cast today. Thanks!

Night before last, we were awoken by my 12 year old Airedale falling all the way down the stairs. It broke my heart. I don't know how he is okay, but he is....thank God.
I can't wait for Survivor! AND...the Bachelor. I think, and hope, this Bachelor will be the best yet!

Morning everyone! Not sure why I am up, it is raining and very dreary!
Scoops, Metacam oral suspension is a non- steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for use in dogs. It is indicated for the alleviation of inflammation and pain in both acute and chronic problems in dogs. I still have not decided if I am going to use it yet or not, I want to do some more research on it and maybe call some other vets to get their opinion.
Wow you belong to the rescure league, very impressive. I have never had any cats, how long do they normally live? I thought of getting Saba a playmate, not sure how she would react to a puppy. She does love Anita'a and Tim's dog, but that might be different since she knows Anita and Tim. I have thought of moving, and if I do then it would be easier to move with one dog versus two LOL Glad to hear your cat is still filled with spirit! How is she doing without Chief?
Oh my goodness Miss P., this sounded horrible, I am so glad he is ok too! Has he been having health problems?
I am happy that we have animal lovers here and fans of Survivor! LOL
Have you guys checked out the cast yet? Belong to any Survivor groups? I belong to one group, if you want the link email me. I will probably join a couple more LOL

Hi Monica, Hi Scoops--so glad to read your posts.
Glad Saba is well and happy to hear Dottie the "hisser" is still purring along, lol.
Scoops I just about got a lump in my throat reading about your son and his questions about Chief :(
I think you're doing the right thing for now and with a little more time maybe the separation and the inevitable discussion won't be that bad. Good luck, I know you'll do the right thing.
So you never answered my other post, Scoops--how many lobster rolls did you have on vacation?? lol
Can't wait for the new Survivor. Loved your tidbits, Monica and will have to go to one of the sites you posted before and read up on everyone. Sorry your weather stinks--the only word for today's weather here at the beach is glorious! Will be heading out to soak up the sun in a bit.
Have a good day all!

Good morning Ms Piggie, Monica, and gailsie...it's a beautiful day here in MA, hope you are enjoying the same.
gailsie...how many lobster rolls? lol The real question should be, how much lobster can one 125 pound woman eat? I actually only had one lobster roll but in almost a month's time I put away several boiled lobsters...(I don't really go for the baked stuffed, or baked stuffed anything for that matter), ya never know what goes into that stuffing, even in the better restaurants I have heard they throw in the leftover seafoods. I do like the lobster casserole with just bread crumbs on top, but prefer to get all bibbed up and crack my own.
What I really seemed to order the most this year was linguini with clam sauce...mmmm, we found two great restaurants that did it up just right. One thing I have to watch though is overdoing...when I was in my twenties I ate two orders of mussels from this great place, Florence's, in Boston's North End (little Italy), and for a long time after that anytime I ate shellfish, my throat would start to close, and I would get terrible immediate headaches/nausea. I stopped eating shellfish for about 4 years (doing little taste tests now and again, and hoping, cause I love it sooo much), and I finally went back to normal. Not that anyone here really wants to read about my digestive maladies, but just a warning...even if you aren't allergic, use moderation when seafood is involved.
Monica...
As far as I know cats can go up to the early twenties if they are housecats, and well taken care of, but that age is not the average lifespan. Outdoor kitties have a shorter lifespan, mainly due to contact with other cats that carry disease, also illness from mosquitos, fleas, and injuries. The average lifespan of an indoor cat is probably around 15 years where an outdoor kitty (again up to date on it's healthcare), it's around 9 or 10. I live near a state park, and prior to that in a condo on the beach, so I never considered letting mine out. Cars and the coyote factor.
As for Dottie, she still refuses to eat unless two food dishes are there, so we keep it that way. She spent a lot of time under our china cabinet at first, but is getting back to her old self.
thanks.
MsPiggie, I know you have quite a menagerie, how many all together? I love reading about animals.
MsPiggie
09-07-2003, 12:55 PM
A good thing to do for older animals is to give them a single egg for a day or 2 in a row. You can buy a protein paste from your Vet, but an egg will do the same! :)
Scoops, I have, um, 1, 2, 3, 4...
22 various animals (as of this post, lol).
