Has anyone seen Joy's decorating show lately? It's been a while since I've caught an episode but don't know if maybe they're waiting for their new season. I never hear R mention it either.
I do wish R would quit teasing K about whether or not her show is going to be a hit. He did it again during Christine Baranski's interview, putting K on the spot. He makes it sound as if it's going to bomb, and I feel bad for her. It's just his sense of humor, but it's mean, and he's run that joke so many times. I hope it is a big hit. I also hope Christine's new show is good. She's great.

I cannot help you with this since I have never seen her show.

But I did want to say that I agree about Christine, I have always liked her. For the AMC fans out there, IRL she is married to the actor that portrayed Billy Clyde Tuggle.

Does anyone know when the new season of shows start? Will need to get my vcr ready, seems like I will be doing alot more taping LOL

I asked about that a while back... No one responded, I guess that since no one has any information - perhaps Baby Joy is collecting unemployment?? J/K

It did seem to be a niche(sp) show. I'll bet it gave her a big lift, though, to actually "do it", and be her own person with her own worth, independent of the hubby..

;0))

I don't know anything about Joy's show ... it's on Cable isn't it??

As to the new season starting, unfortunately it's not till probably the 3rd week in September. I imagine Kelly's Friday night line shows will be 9/26??? Hopefully maybe 9/19.

Hi Monica, are you saying that Christine Baranski is married to that scoundrel Billy Clyde Tuggle?!?

Oh my!, lol

Let's hope he "cleans up good," rofl

btw, do you remember Mark Dalton from AMC? Saw him at the beach today. He was chatting about the surf and how huge it was (and it was!) He's got an adorable little girl. Didn't have the nerve to ask if he might ever back in Pine Valley; it seems only fair that he should be a regular person on his vacation.

Have to say, he's still as handsome as ever and looks great. He's got a very nice smile and the most gorgeous blue eyes. The only thing different is his hair, just a bit silvery but still thick and wavy--a really nice guy.

<<<Billy Clyde Tuggle?!?!?>> lol

Yes she is married to actor Matthew Cowles since 1983, the couple have two daughters. A protective mother, Baranski raises her children without television because she doesn't approve of the sexual content and violence on screen. He portrayed Billy Clyde Tuggle, she was also on AMC, portrayed someone named Jewel, but that was either before I started watching or I do not remember her. She was in the movie "Chicago." Excellent movie/musical.

Wow you got to see Mark?! I am jealous, he was always very sexy, is still as good looking as I remember? Silver in the hair in men I find very attractive.

Ok back to ball.....

Now we're talking MY era of AMC! I remember Mark Dalton (I'm assuming Mark LaMura, right Gailsie?), especially his dimples? I remember Mark and Ellen together. This would have been the late 70s.

I don't know what is going on with Joy's show. Regis hasn't mentioned it in forever. Wasn't it called Haven? But I don't even recall what cable station it was on.

There's a write-up on Hope and Faith in this week's Fall TV Preview edition of Entertainment Weekly. An interesting one-page piece, neither critical nor complimentary towards the show, just some background about the reason for the recasting, etc. and the premise. Hope and Faith is going against JAG on CBS and Dateline on NBC. I think they snagged a good spot.

And for you, LisaC, a brief piece on Living it Up! with Ali and Jack, premiering 9/15: ABC correspondent Jack Ford and actress/Mrs. George Stephanopoulos Ali Wentworth do their best Regis and Kelly in this new syndicated talker. We suppose that means viewers can expect Ali to get pregnant a lot.

you got it, susan! dimples and all!

I had forgotten about Mark and Ellen. I remember once being in NY with one of my sisters and seeing Ellen in a restaurant. That was a treat. Also always used to see Roy Scheider getting his bagel and schmear (sp)at a local deli. We were in the city quite often in those days.

btw, have you seen "Ellen" of AMC (can't think of her name, Mooney or something like that?) in the other soap she's on? Think it's Passions. OMIGOSH! She looks ancient! Let's hope it's make up.

Susan

Kathleen Noone? No, haven't seen her on Passions. So she didn't age as well as "Mark"?

S, that's the name, lol.

I remember Mark & Ellen's storyline as being "older woman/younger man" so I'm guessing Mark is in actuality a lot younger than KN.

Only saw her picture for the soap in a TV guide or something. Had to do a doubletake because I didn't even recognize her. She plays some crazy character on Passions.

As I recall, she was very, very thin when I saw her and she was lunching on salad. That's all this particular eatery served.

Gailsie I remember that picture if it was the same one, I also had to do a double take and was very surprised.

Wasn't she with Ross on AMC?

gailsie

Ross? Oh heck, I'm drawing a blank. I only remember her being with Mark Dalton. Who was Ross?

Did your team win? We watched a movie last night, no football.

just read your recap on the other thread, Monica.
Ugh, a heartbreaker . . .

Monica

Hi Gailsie, Ross was Adam Chandler's newphew. I think it was the late 70's or early 80's when he was on and Ellen was with him. I bet Mark was before Ross? I started watching around the time Ross was on, loved it back then, much better than now.

No my team lost, I posted on the ball-game thread. I think that losing after winning by 26 points throughtout most of the game is worse than by losing by a ton of points. Can't wait for tomorrow to see how the rankings will be, even though we lost we still might move forward in the polls.

Hi all...to answer the Joy question...her show is called At Home With_________, (fill in the name of the celebrity). It is a special presentation show on HGTV, and looks like she has taped/aired over 20. Don't see any upcoming on thier September schedule, but she is still listed on the website. They seem to only do special presentation shows on the weekend for the most part.

HGTV is here and I have a few clients that work over there. I have called them before about her show when it had been previously discussed. I will again if you are interested.

Fall is here...I am THRILLED!!!!!! :)

MsP...

I second that "emotion"...

How nice it was to can some peaches today and NOT have to run the AC...

I would like to know the status of Joy's show, regardless of it's latest name... Especially if she is going to tape any new ones..

Dig around and get us the real skinny...

;0))

PK ~ Now don't go making me feel guilty...I just told my hubby today that I wasn't canning peaches this year....but I probably still will. You just can't buy anything that tastes nearly as good.....

MsP ~ Let us know what you find, will ya? I know you're a great investigator!!! :) :) :)

Hey, Skeeter..

I thought about you today and wondered if you bought any...

This is our own tree and the first time in FOREVER we have had decent peaches on it. We think buying the "local" orchard spray is NOT the thing to do...

The tree was also well pruned during the winter... This year there are peaches the size of SOFTBALLS...

I am now working on the windfalls, but the main crop is beginning...

I will can enough for hubby to put on his "Raisin Bran" over the winter, and use the rest for sparkling peach wine...

Really looking forward to next year for peaches and plums..

I "THINK" this tree is Red Haven..

It was a good show.

Hey, PK ~

Have you ever made Peach Honey? It's like honey, only it's -- you guessed it -- peachy!!!!

It's actually a very thick syrup...wonderful on pancakes, and also just on bread....if you get overrun with peaches, and want to try something new, let me know...it is sooooo easy to make.....

I'm thinking of a juicy peach right now.....

Oh, I get it.... Red HAVEN....ha ha ha.....

I'm holding out for the Red Skins...they are my favorite peach....probably just to eat this year, but other years they make a beautiful syrup in the jar....

LOL, Skeeter...

I didn't even catch that.. Red Haven is one of the premier peaches to grow.. There's a Hale Haven, too...

Please post the peach honey recipe.

I hot pack my peaches in their own sirup just adding a quarter cup of sugar to each 2 lbs./Qt. of peaches and heating slowly. When I'm done, I usually have leftover sweetened peach juice. I have been making a little jam out of it, maybe I can make your 'honey' out of it this time.

PS...I have never heard of Hale Haven....do they can well???

My local fruit supplier has a "list" of peaches, week by week....Red Skins are the last to come through, so I always cross my fingers and hope they are nice!!!
