********* It sounds like Ashley isn't doing well. He hasn't eaten in 3 days, and Regis seemed very concerned. If the cat is really 18 years old, that is a long life for a cat. Although, I have heard of cats living to be near 20 years old..

I just wish the best for Ashley, and hope he doesn't suffer.. I think Regis will really be sad about this, if Ashley, does leave them. I guess, Regis and Ashley, are very close.

Somehow, I just can't picture Regis with a cat, but.....it is a side of Regis, that we don't really see, and it is touching. (Well, I guess we do realize, that he really loves the cat, so, I guess, you could say, we do see this side of him)

I may get static for this post but I think it is probably time for Regis to think about letting Ashley go. If my cat hadn't eatten in three days even though I would fear the outcome I would take it immediately to a vet. I think he is afriad of the outcome. If an animal, any animal is not enjoying quality of life it is time to let go. I am an animal lover expecially cats but when they get to that age and are unwell you have to do what is right for the animal not the owner... I have a 15 year old cat and I know that in the next few years I will have to go through the same heartache :-( I had one cat live til it was 19 years old. Everytime Regis brings Ashley on the poor cat looks worse and worse..so thin and blind in one eye. I think it's a sad situation either way. I hope people understand where I am coming from here...

I sure do understand Danielle. You are right. It's time to let Ashley go. It's heartbreaking, I know this. Regis knows this to, and probably hates to have to go through it.

He said he's drinking a lot of water. Sounds like his kidneys may be failing...Poor thing, and I feel for Regis to.

I certainly understand where you are coming from Danielle.I agree I think Regis should have already taken the cat to the vet.Not eating isn't a very good sign, plus Regis says he is drinking a lot of water.Maybe Ashley's kidneys are failing?I just don't think the cat is going to live much longer, and that is sad for Regis. But if he is suffering it is time to do something for the poor cat.I love cats and dogs too, just hate to see one suffering and Ashley hasn't looked good in a long time when Regis has brought him on the set.

Poor Ashley AND poor Regis.

I believe Regis said he was 20 yrs. old.(it is a "he"...right?)Quite the age for any animal.

Poor kitty. It has aged like fine wine. I'm sure it can be put to good use.

Oh...this makes me so sad...too close to the decline of my Chief...I know exactly Regis's reason for waiting and hoping for a reprive...I saw Chief do a comeback several times. sniff.
